The six forms
Each form with the aggregator's one-sentence gloss, in its own words. The full account of each is under Each form against the model.
A Border terms and the announced plan 166 communities
Communities settle terms with neighbours and announce their plans; terms and plans hold only for the placers they reach, and sparing can come before any terms.
B Behind the thread: chat, scripts, raids 141 communities
Communities change the chat, the scripts or the attack calls, each held by different communities at about chance; a grouping, not a form.
C The design reopened 125 communities
Communities settle what the artwork shows for a time and reopen it after each finish; keepers who know of a change can still refuse it.
D Keeping, with help or carrying on 119 communities
Communities share and check their keeping; help goes out from a community whose own work is safe, carrying on begins before the close and returns to the call, and the two are held by different communities.
E The sub's play, run as work 98 communities
The host sub's April Fools play is organized like canvas work (rules enforced, claims tested, breakage repaired, an end argued, a record kept), and the canvas work beside it is thinner in the record.
F Moving for the spot 56 communities
Communities ask for space before they build, move when the spot is lost, taken or claimed more than for too few hands, and build again at the new spot.
The accounts name parts of the model by code: P a process, K a condition, C a claim, R a role, A an arrow between two elements. T4-001 to T4-028 are the fourth-order themes and D01 to D08 the aggregate dimensions.
In detail
Everything the run recorded for this part; each folded section says what it holds.
Six organizational forms
The forms' names, glosses and accounts below are the aggregator's own words. The site puts its own terms in place of theirs: community for room, artwork for mark, population model for global model. They keep the aggregator's British spelling and call a subreddit a sub.
The agent grouped the 705 communities by the changes each made to the population model and the codes it carries. Ward’s tree on the communities with five or more changes, cut at six forms; the other communities were placed beside their nearest community.
Show where each form changes the model and where it codes: two charts
Where each form changes the model
Figure 4 of the Technical Appendix. Selected changes by dimension: each form’s mean share relative to the mean over the 684 communities with changes. In form C, the design reopened, coordination without command takes 40.3% of a community’s selected changes on average, against 27.6% over the 684.
Each form against the model
Show how a change is written: operations, units and roles
How a change is written here. A change is an operation on a unit of the model: an element (a process P, condition K, claim C or role R) or an arrow (A). The op is add-step, add-condition, link or restrict. The change is placed at the third-order theme (T3) where the community's own theme sits, and so at a fourth-order theme (T4) and a dimension. A change on sparing (P07, under Order without law) can therefore sit at a T3 of repair work. The T3 and T4 given for each change below are the most common placements of the form's lines for it.
Each figure draws the form across the eight dimensions, as Figure 2 does for all 705 communities. A change carries a mark from two tests: the rule’s thresholds (ratio 1.2, floor 10 per cent, and the stricter ratio 1.5, floor 15 per cent) and a test with record size held fixed.
Form A: Border terms and the announced plan, 166 communities
Border terms and the announced plan
Communities settle terms with neighbours and announce their plans; terms and plans hold only for the placers they reach, and sparing can come before any terms.
Change signature:
- T4-016 Negotiated order (D04): changed by 87% of the form's defining communities, 1.75 times the population
- T4-026 Completion ritual (D07): changed by 51% of the form's defining communities, 1.58 times the population
- T4-008 Standardization of output (D02): changed by 37% of the form's defining communities, 2.06 times the population
The telling
How the changes follow one another. The form's communities run the model's spine as the model states it. They start, call and build, and the form leaves R01, P01, P03 and their arrows untouched. Its changes come in two places on the spine. The first is the plan kept current while building (P04, with P23 and P14 beside it). The second is the meeting with neighbours, where keeping (P05) brings border talk (P08). The model's arrow from keeping to border talk (A04) is not changed at the form level. The form's account found that communities here often talk with neighbours before they have an artwork to keep, which A04's bound already allows (room-form-A-account.md, section 7). From the border, the form changes both arrows that leave it: the terms bind the placers they reach (A05), and help is offered as part of the terms (A14). Then the marking and the record (P11, P12) come with the credit argued and the work's fate reported. In short, the form's communities make terms while they build, keep a plan in step with the canvas, and find that both bind only the placers they reach.
What the marks do to the claim
Each change carries two marks: one from the rule's thresholds (D6a-09) and one from the size-held test (D6a-10).
- Kept at the stricter thresholds: none. All 11 cells lean only at the rule's own thresholds (ratio 1.2, floor 10 per cent). At ratio 1.5 and floor 15 per cent form A keeps none, and at ratio 1.5 with the 10 per cent floor it keeps 1.
- Size-dependent: 4. C01 (decided order) and P23 (the chat) fail when matched on canvas-work concepts, P12 (the record) on record size, and P07 (sparing) on both.
- Marginal and not size-dependent: 7. These are P04, P05, P08, P11, P14, A05 and A14.
So form A's claim is the weakest of the six. Its communities lean, at the rule's thresholds, toward the terms, the plan kept current, keeping linked to the neighbours, and the marking. That lean holds with record size held fixed, but no single change of it is sharp. The chat, decided order, sparing and the record do not keep their lean once A's communities are compared with communities of the same size. The form's account called it "a pole of the continuum and a lean of the population, not one shared change", with a stability of about 0.21 on matched subsamples. The marks agree. Form A is best read as where the negotiated order and the plan are most often changed, not as a type of community set apart from the others.

What defines the form against the population model
The change signature. Three fourth-order themes are changed by this form's defining communities at 1.5 times the population's share or more, by a third of them or more (the allocation's own columns):
- Negotiated order (T4-016, Order without law), changed by 87 per cent, 1.75 times the population;
- Completion ritual (T4-026, Imprinting), 51 per cent, 1.58 times;
- Standardization of output (T4-008, Coordination without command), 37 per cent, 2.06 times.
The changed cells. Read against the 66 elements and arrows by the rule of D6a-01, the form changes 11 units. They follow the model's own course, from the plan to the record.
- The plan. P04, templates and coordinates, is specified by add-step in 32 defining communities (1.26 times the share), at T3-070 sharing coordinates, templates and how-to (T4-008 Standardization of output, D02). Members keep the template in step with what is placed: they correct references against the canvas and replace stale plans.
- The chat. P23 is specified by add-step in 16 communities (1.22), at T3-014 moving planning into a chat (T4-010 Backstage decision-making, D02). Expired invitations are replaced, and decisions are brought back to members outside the chat.
- Machine hands. P14 is restricted in 17 communities (1.21), most often at T3-027 arguing whether scripts are fair (T4-009 Workarounds, D02). Scripts are offered, debated and refused, and the record shows the offer more than any placing.
- Decided order. C01 is restricted in 17 communities (1.28), placed at T3-010 settling borders and T3-014, the chat. Communities divide the work, name representatives and assign defenders, but the record does not show the division kept.
- Keeping. P05 is specified by add-condition and link in 37 communities (1.43), at T3-009 celebrating the finished work and T3-005 defending the work (T4-013 Repair work, D03). Keeping takes conditions from the neighbours: protecting a neighbour can mean undoing the community's own overextension. A finished artwork is followed by renewed defence.
- The neighbours. P08, border talk and deals, is specified by add-step, link and add-condition in 21 communities (1.28), at T3-010 settling borders with neighbours (T4-016 Negotiated order, D04). Members prepare a deal inside the community, check the counterpart and cede background pixels before picture pixels. P07, sparing, is specified by add-condition in 16 communities (1.20), mostly at T3-005 defending the work. Sparing rests on overlapping membership, valued art or fear of retaliation.
- The arrows from the border. A05, P08 to P07 (a settled border is a line members keep), is restricted in 39 communities (1.34), at T3-010. Restraint often comes before any settlement, and a treaty holds for the members who learn and accept it. A14, P08 to P16 (a settled border opens a channel for help), is restricted in 15 communities (1.72), at T3-010. Help is part of the bargain more than its result.
- The marking and the record. P11, celebration, is specified by add-step in 21 communities (1.47), at T3-043 crediting who made the work (T4-026 Completion ritual, D07). Credit is disputed and corrected while the work goes on. P12, records, is specified by add-step in 16 communities (1.30), at T3-073 reporting how the work fared (T4-027 Collective memory, D07). The record holds mourning, memorials and imagined versions.
Show three of its communities
The selection rule, logged in the diary before any community was read (_analysis/d6a11_select_rooms.py).
- The candidates are form A's defining communities within the nearest quarter of distances to the form's centre (at or below 0.8201, the first quartile of the 135), and nearer A's centre than any other form's. That gives 31 candidates.
- They are ranked by selected changes (the community's changes against the population model), then coded concepts, then distance.
- The first three are taken.
The three communities:
- r/FloydVsVoid (
room-A-FloydVsVoid.md): distance 0.690, the nearest of the 135; 26 selected changes, against the form's defining median of 10. - r/prequelmemes (
room-A-prequelmemes.md): distance 0.777, 13th nearest; 25 selected changes. - r/theexpanse (
room-A-theexpanse.md): distance 0.737, 5th nearest; 24 selected changes.
r/FloydVsVoid was also stage D5's best fit and its community read at length; the rule chose it again.
Form B: Behind the thread: chat, scripts, raids, 141 communities
Behind the thread: chat, scripts, raids
Communities change the chat, the scripts or the attack calls, each held by different communities at about chance; a grouping, not a form.
Change signature:
- T4-009 Workarounds (D02): changed by 43% of the form's defining communities, 2.06 times the population
- T4-010 Backstage decision-making (D02): changed by 42% of the form's defining communities, 2.29 times the population
- T4-020 Repertoire of contention (D08): changed by 35% of the form's defining communities, 2.35 times the population
The telling
How the changes follow one another. B's communities start, call and build as the model says. They leave R01, P01, P03, A01, A02 and A03 untouched at the form level. The changes come where the work runs behind the thread. A call may already be a call to attack (A15). The plan and the terms go to the placers through the chat (P23) and to the machines through the scripts (P14). The terms with neighbours then hold only where they reach both (P07, A05), with the treaty prepared and relayed (P08). Members who leave give the tools or a doctrine as their reason (P32). Each facet's communities do their part apart from the others'. So the form is three courses through the same model, not one course with three steps.
What the marks do to the claim
- Marked "robust": 2. The chat (P23) and the scripts (P14) keep their relation at ratio 1.5 and floor 15 per cent, and both survive the size-held test.
- Marginal: 4. P32, P07, P08 and A15 lean only at the rule's thresholds and survive size matching.
- Size-dependent: 1. A05 fails when matched on canvas-work concepts (1.14).
So B's claim rests on two facets. The chat and the scripts are among the sharpest changes of any form: of the 20 cells that survive the stricter rule, these are two. The raids facet's own cell, the call turned on a rival (A15), is marginal, and the restrictions behind it mostly say what the record cannot show. The border cells (P07, P08, A05) are where the chat and the scripts meet the neighbours, and they are marginal or size-dependent. B is best read as a residual grouping held together by two sharp facets, the chat and the scripts, with a third, the raids, that leans only weakly. Its lead after the close is a property of its chat and script communities: 26 of the 35 communities that coordinated after hour 73 hold the chat or the scripts.
Show what defines the form, cell by cell
What B is: a residual grouping with three facets
B is not one shared change. Its account and the correction of D6a-09 call it a residual grouping. Its defining communities change one or more of three fourth-order themes, the three facets:
- the scripts: Workarounds (T4-009, Coordination without command), held by 49 of the 113;
- the chat: Backstage decision-making (T4-010, Coordination without command), held by 48;
- the raids: Repertoire of contention (T4-020, Contention), held by 40.
Different communities hold them at about chance overlap:
- 19 communities hold only the scripts, 22 only the chat and 15 only the raids;
- 30 hold two facets;
- 7 hold all three, against 7.4 if the facets were independent;
- 20 hold none.
43 of its 113 defining communities lie nearer another form's centre, the most of any form.
The change signature. The allocation's columns give the same three themes:
- Workarounds, changed by 43 per cent of the defining communities, 2.06 times the population;
- Backstage decision-making, 43 per cent, 2.29 times;
- Repertoire of contention, 35 per cent, 2.35 times.
The changed cells, along the model's course
Read against the 66 elements and arrows by the rule of D6a-01, the form changes seven units.
- The call turned on a rival. A15, P01 to P09 (a call's hands can turn on a rival), is restricted in 18 defining communities (1.39 times the share), most often at T3-006, calling to deface rivals' work (T4-020 Repertoire of contention, D08). The record does not show a call's builders turning on a rival. In some communities the attack call is the first call or shares the opening turn with recruiting; in others the lines show the order of calls but not that the same hands attacked.
- The chat. P23 is specified by add-step and add-condition in 20 communities (1.83), at T3-014, moving planning into a chat (T4-010 Backstage decision-making, D02). The chat works on conditions: invitations that work, and a current plan that members outside the chat can find.
- The scripts. P14 is specified by add-step in 33 communities (2.09), at T3-028, running scripts for the work (T4-009 Workarounds, D02). Scripts are run as shared tools, and their targets and versions are kept in step.
- The neighbours.
- P07, sparing, is specified by add-condition and link in 15 communities (1.35), at T3-024 (refusing to cover others' work) and T3-006 (T4-015 Live and let live, D04). Sparing passes through the community's tools: an instruction to spare agreed space must reach script users as an update to their target.
- P08, border terms, is specified by add-step in 18 communities (1.31), at T3-010 (settling borders) and T3-149 (agreeing truces with rival communities) (T4-016 Negotiated order, D04). Members ask for a treaty before any damage, seek consensus before a proposal and relay a negotiated move to builders.
- A05, P08 to P07 (a settled border is a line members keep), is specified by add-condition in 16 communities (1.39), mostly at T3-149 (T4-016, D04). A settled border is kept where its terms reach the placers and the scripts' targets.
- Stepping away. P32, members stepping away under strain, is restricted in 12 communities (2.04), at T3-087 (tracing who changed the work) and T3-190 (splitting a faction over doctrine). Where a member left, the reason given was the community's scripts or a doctrine, not strain.
Show three of its communities
The selection rule, logged in the diary before any community was read (_analysis/d6a12_select_B.py).
- A defining community holds a facet where it has a selected change line at the facet's fourth-order theme.
- For each facet, the candidates are the communities that hold that facet alone, within the nearer half of B's defining distances to its centre (at or below 0.9414, the median), and nearer B's centre than any other form's.
- They are ranked by selected changes, then coded concepts, then distance, and the first is taken.
- No fallback was needed.
The three communities:
- The chat: r/dwarffortress (
room-B-dwarffortress.md): distance 0.859, 24th nearest of 113; 17 selected changes; 5 candidates. - The scripts: r/uofm (
room-B-uofm.md): distance 0.855, 22nd nearest; 12 selected changes; 6 candidates. - The raids: r/ockytop (
room-B-ockytop.md): distance 0.870, 29th nearest; 9 selected changes; the only candidate.
The form's defining median is 10 changes. The raids facet's community is the poorest of the three, because few communities hold the raids alone near the centre.
Form C: The design reopened, 125 communities
The design reopened
Communities settle what the artwork shows for a time and reopen it after each finish; keepers who know of a change can still refuse it.
Change signature:
- T4-006 Collective representation (D02): changed by 98% of the form's defining communities, 2.63 times the population
The telling
How the changes follow one another. The form's communities start and build as the model says. They leave R01, P03 and the arrows A01 to A03 untouched at the form level, and the marking and the record too (P11, P12, P13, A07 to A09). The changes gather where the model has the community settle its artwork. The design is settled (P02), a template lays it out (P04), and the template does not end the design (A11). Keeping restores the known form (P05), and the keepers who undo a change may know of it and refuse it. Decided order (C01) appears where members divide the design's parts. A finished part is then the start of the next: the finished artwork is followed by a new addition (P02, by link at T3-009) and by a new call for hands (P01). The model draws no arrow from the marking back to the design, and the form's lines show this return as description, not as a tested arrow. With the neighbours, help comes from the community's own work, not from its shortage (A13, P16), and sparing and terms come with reasons and limits (P07, P08). In short, the form's communities settle what the artwork shows for a time, reopen it after each finish, and keep it against keepers who may know of a change and refuse it.
What the marks do to the claim
Each change carries two marks: one from the rule's thresholds (D6a-09) and one from the size-held test (D6a-10).
- Marked "robust": 1. P02, the design, keeps its relation at ratio 1.5 and floor 15 per cent. It survives size matching on both measures (1.88 on coded concepts, 2.39 on canvas-work concepts).
- Size-dependent: 1. P04, the template kept current, fails when matched on canvas-work concepts (1.18).
- Marginal and not size-dependent: 8. P01 keeps its relation at ratio 1.5 with the 10 per cent floor. A11, P05 and A13 keep it with the 15 per cent floor at ratio 1.2: many communities hold them, but their lean over the population is small. C01, P07, P08 and P16 lean only at the rule's own thresholds.
So form C's claim rests on one sharp change: the design is settled for a time and reopened (P02). It is one of the 20 cells, in all six forms, that survive the stricter rule. The restrictions that carry the form's account are broad but shallow. The template that does not settle the design (A11) and the keepers who refuse a change they know of (P05) are held by 58 and 46 of the 96 defining communities. The population restricts both too, and C's communities do so only 1.27 and 1.30 times as often. The template kept current (P04) does not keep its lean once C's communities are compared with communities of the same canvas-work size. The neighbour cells are held by 10 to 12 communities each. Form C is best read as the communities where the design is changed most often and reopened after each finish. The template's failure and the keepers' refusal are the population's restrictions, held here a little more often.
Show what defines the form, cell by cell
What defines the form against the population model
The change signature. One fourth-order theme is changed by this form's defining communities at 1.5 times the population's share or more, by a third of them or more (the allocation's own columns): Collective representation (T4-006, Coordination without command), the theme of what the artwork shows. 98 per cent of the defining communities change it, 2.63 times the population.
The changed cells. Read against the 66 elements and arrows by the rule of D6a-01, the form changes 10 units. They follow the model's own course, from the call to the help between communities.
- The call. P01, the community's calls for hands, is specified by link and add-step in 14 defining communities (1.40 times the share). Its lines sit most often at T3-002, calling members in to place, and by fourth-order theme most often at Collective representation (T4-006, D02). The call returns within the work: a finished figure, a granted space or a member's report of a part done becomes the premise of the next call for hands.
- The design. P02, settling what the artwork will show, is specified by add-step in 21 communities (1.94) and by link in 19 (1.70). Its lines sit at T3-004, settling the artwork's design (T4-006, D02), and T3-009, celebrating the finished work (T4-026 Completion ritual, D07). The design is settled for a time and reopened. Members make a provisional choice overnight, place rough lettering to hold a gap, follow a finished artwork with the next addition, and turn outside help into claims to label the artwork.
- The template. P04, templates and coordinates, is specified by add-step in 22 communities (1.22), at T3-004 (T4-006, D02). The template is kept current: builders find mistaken blocks, retire outdated posts, announce changed locations and message the members who overwrite the design.
- The arrow from the design to the template. A11, P02 to P04 (a template settles a design), is restricted in 58 communities (1.27), most often at T3-004 (T4-006, D02). In 40 of its 58 lines the arrow fails as stated: colours, sizes and spacing stayed open, a redesign was repaired away as damage, or a dispute was settled by pointing to an image already in circulation. In 16 more, the template settles the design only for the placers who recognise its current version.
- Decided order. C01 is restricted in 12 communities (1.27), at T3-004 and T3-015, routing canvas posts into megathreads (T4-006, D02). Members divided outline and lettering, endorsed a template and assigned pixels or relay roles, without a formal office. The lines do not test how often communities decided their order.
- Keeping. P05, upkeep, is restricted in 46 communities (1.30), most often at T3-004 (T4-006, D02); the element sits in Maintenance (D03). The lines restrict P05's telling clause: informed members refused changes, or the record cannot tell ignorance from dissent. None of the 47 lines shows a change lost only for want of telling.
- The neighbours.
- P07, sparing, is specified by link in 10 communities (1.38), at T3-010, settling borders with neighbours (T4-015 Live and let live, D04). Restraint is linked to a reason the community states: an apology after a complaint, help or space received from the neighbour, or the community's own identity.
- P08, border talk and deals, is specified by add-condition in 10 communities (1.42), at T3-010 (T4-016 Negotiated order, D04). Agreements are kept apart from compliance: members report attacks after announced terms, and a truce needs a counterpart able to keep its terms.
- P16, help between communities, is specified by add-step in 12 communities (1.34), at T3-010 (T4-017 Reciprocity, D04). Help is part of the community's own building: helpers alternate placements between the two works, and requests and offers are kept apart from delivered help.
- A13, P05 to P16 (a community keeping its work under strain turns to other communities for help), is restricted in 30 communities (1.20), at T3-010 (T4-016, D04). Help does not follow a shortage of hands: donors help from completed or well-kept work, and help comes with construction and overlap repair.
Restrict lines and held proposals
The held proposals (QD4-001) bear on this form. The A11 proposal would withdraw the arrow form C restricts in 58 communities, and the P05 proposal would bound the telling clause it restricts in 46. Both are stated in full in the head and in the form's account, section 6. Neither is part of the model told here.
The restrict lines on arrows. Of the 301 restrict lines on arrows held by C's defining communities, 172 say the arrow fails here (the form's account, section 7; one reader's sort).
Show three of its communities
The selection rule, logged in the diary before any community was read (_analysis/d6a11_select_rooms.py, the rule of form A, unchanged).
- The candidates are form C's defining communities within the nearest quarter of distances to the form's centre (at or below 0.8148, the first quartile of the 96), and nearer C's centre than any other form's. That gives 21 candidates.
- They are ranked by selected changes, then coded concepts, then distance.
- The first three are taken.
The three communities:
- r/suomi (
room-C-suomi.md): distance 0.7816, 16th nearest of 96; 20 selected changes, against the form's defining median of 10. - r/gatech (
room-C-gatech.md): distance 0.7802, 15th nearest; 19 selected changes. - r/bardmains (
room-C-bardmains.md): distance 0.7325, 2nd nearest; 16 selected changes.
The three show 3, 7 and 4 of the form's 10 changes. r/gatech and r/bardmains are both quoted in the form's account (section 1).
Form D: Keeping, with help or carrying on, 119 communities
Keeping, with help or carrying on
Communities share and check their keeping; help goes out from a community whose own work is safe, carrying on begins before the close and returns to the call, and the two are held by different communities.
Change signature:
- T4-013 Repair work (D03): changed by 74% of the form's defining communities, 1.82 times the population
- T4-028 Transition (D07): changed by 41% of the form's defining communities, 2.22 times the population
- T4-017 Reciprocity (D04): changed by 38% of the form's defining communities, 2.49 times the population

How the changes follow one another. The form's communities settle the design, build and contest as the model says. They leave the design and the template (P02, P04, A11), building (P03), border talk (P08, A04) and the contest (P09, A15 to A18) untouched at the form level. The start and the call come in one post (A02), and the call and the building overlap (A01). Keeping is the form's base: it is shared out in watches and checked before repair (P05). Scripts are offered but not shown run, and they do not wait for strain (P14, A06). From keeping, help goes to the neighbours, but it goes from the helper's surplus, not from the receiver's shortage (A13, P16). Restraint and border terms come with conditions (P07, A05), and guests ask hosts for space (P19). The marking is weighed (P11). Carrying on begins before the close and does not wait for the record (P13, A09), and it returns to the call (P01, by link at T3-054). In D.2's communities the sub's own April Fools play runs beside the keeping (K01), and the host makes room for the canvas talk inside the sub (P20, A20). The model draws no arrow from carrying on back to the call, and the form's lines show this return as description, not as a tested arrow. In short, the form's communities keep their work by shared and checked watches, send help when their own work is safe, and begin carrying the work on before the close; help and carrying on are done by different communities.
What the marks do to the claim
Each change carries two marks: one from the rule's thresholds (D6a-09) and one from the size-held test (D6a-10).
- Marked "robust": 6. P01, P05, P14, P20, P13 and A09 keep their relation at ratio 1.5 and floor 15 per cent, and each survives size matching on both measures.
- Size-dependent: none. Form D is the only form all of whose changed cells survive size matching.
- Marginal: 11. A01, A06, P16, A13, K01 and P11 keep their relation with the 15 per cent floor at ratio 1.2. A02, P07, P19, A05 and A20 lean only at the rule's own thresholds.
So form D's claim is among the sharpest of the six. Six of the 20 cells that survive the stricter rule are D's; only form F has more, with 7. The sharp changes are keeping shared and checked (P05), carrying on begun before the close (P13, A09), the call returning from carrying on and loss (P01), the host's room for canvas talk (P20), and scripts offered and not shown run (P14). The help in the form's name is not sharp. Help under strain (A13) is held by 33 communities, the most of any of D's cells, but its lean is 1.32 times the population; help on the helper's terms (P16) leans 1.42 times. So the form's "carrying on" rests on a sharp change and its "help" on broad, shallow ones, and the two are done by different communities. Form D is best read as keeping shared and checked, with two further patterns held by different communities: help sent from a safe community, and carrying on begun before the close.
Show what defines the form, cell by cell
What defines the form against the population model
The change signature. Three fourth-order themes are changed by this form's defining communities at 1.5 times the population's share or more, by a third of them or more (the allocation's own columns):
- Repair work (T4-013, Maintenance), changed by 71 of the 96 defining communities (74 per cent), 1.82 times the population;
- Transition (T4-028, Imprinting), the theme of carrying the work on, 39 communities, 2.22 times;
- Reciprocity (T4-017, Order without law), the theme of help between communities, 37 communities, 2.49 times.
The parts of the form. D keeps splits below it (room-forms-names.md; the form's account, section 14). D.1, keeping with the call, holds 54 defining communities. D.2, keeping inside the sub's play, holds 42, and divides into D.2.1, the play, carried on (27), and D.2.2, the play, kept (15). Repair work is held alike in D.1 and D.2. Help and carrying on are held by different communities at chance: they meet in 15 communities, against 15.0 if they were independent. Help leans to D.1 (25 of its 37 holders), and carrying on is spread across both parts.
The changed cells. Read against the 66 elements and arrows by the rule of D6a-01, the form changes 17 units. They follow the model's own course, from the start to carrying on.
- The start and the call.
- A02, R01 to P01 (the start before the call), is restricted in 12 defining communities (1.34 times the share), most often at T3-002, calling members in to place (T4-005 Mobilization, D01). The start and the first call share one post, so the lines say the two coincide.
- P01, the community's calls for hands, is specified by link in 16 communities (1.60), most often at T3-054, carrying work to new canvases (T4-028 Transition, D07). The call returns from carrying on and from loss: a later canvas, damage to the artwork or a lost spot brings the community back to calling for hands.
- A01, P01 to P03 (the call brings builders), is restricted in 19 communities (1.30), at T3-002 (T4-005, D01). The call and the building overlap: reports answer calls without showing that the call brought the builder, and an active builder also recruits.
- The sub's play and the host's line.
- K01, the April Fools frame, is specified by add-step in 24 communities (1.35), at T3-001, staging April Fools fake news (T4-001 Keying, D06). The play is run beside the keeping: members dispute when the joke ends, test fakes by date and source, and police tasteless claims, and moderators restore the ordinary styling. 21 of the 24 holders are communities of D.2.
- P20, the host's line, is specified by add-step in 15 communities (1.82), at T3-090, opening a canvas sub, and T3-015, routing canvas posts into megathreads (T4-002 Boundary work, D06). The host makes room for canvas talk inside the sub as well as drawing a line around it: moderators offer a sticky, mark canvas posts with flair, and reverse a removal after checking in their chat.
- A20, P01 to P20 (the calls bring the host's line), is restricted in 10 communities (1.45), at T3-063, removing canvas posts by rule (T4-002, D06). The host's line is not shown to answer a flood of calls: moderators route talk for visibility and timing, or apply rules they already had.
- Keeping.
- P05, upkeep, is specified by add-step in 21 communities (1.59), at T3-021, watching and repairing the work (T4-013 Repair work, D03). Keeping is shared and checked: watches are volunteered and handed on, keepers check the current canvas and the intended form before they repair, and the community ranks what to keep.
- P14, scripts and spare accounts, is restricted in 15 communities (1.50), at T3-027, arguing whether scripts are fair (T4-009 Workarounds, D02). Scripts were offered and spare accounts were run by hand, and the lines show no script run and no extra placements.
- A06, P05 to P14 (upkeep under strain brings scripts), is restricted in 21 communities (1.28), at T3-027 (T4-009, D02). In 12 of the 21 lines the arrow fails as stated: scripts were offered for a new build or a move, and spare accounts came during construction.
- The neighbours and help.
- P07, sparing, is specified by add-condition in 12 communities (1.27), at T3-010, settling borders with neighbours (T4-015 Live and let live and T4-016 Negotiated order, D04). Restraint has conditions of its own: it protects the community's own logo, repays help received, and does not reach every placer.
- A05, P08 to P07 (a settled border is a line members keep), is specified by add-condition in 13 communities (1.33), at T3-010 (D04). A settled border is kept where the agreement reaches a placer who accepts it, and some members spare neighbours by a norm against damaging art, with no treaty.
- P16, help between communities, is specified by add-condition in 19 communities (1.42), at T3-011, helping another community's work (T4-017 Reciprocity, D04). Help waits on the helper's own work: donors give when their work is secure and pixels are spare, and may refuse a request that brings a dispute with it.
- A13, P05 to P16 (a community keeping its work under strain turns to other communities for help), is restricted in 33 communities (1.32), at T3-010 (T4-017, D04). Help comes from surplus more than from shortage: donors give after their own work is finished or safe, repay earlier protection, and put off help while their own defence is short.
- P19, a guest's work under a host's rule, is restricted in 11 communities (1.33), at T3-010 and T3-035, asking a host for space (T4-016, D04). Hosting shows as requests: guests ask for space or depend on a host, but no grant and no lasting host rule is shown.
- The marking. P11, celebration, is specified by add-step in 15 communities (1.48), at T3-009, celebrating the finished work (T4-026 Completion ritual, D07). The marking is weighed: members correct the community's name in the celebration, challenge and prove credit, and judge whether a damaged artwork counts as success.
- Carrying on.
- P13, what the community keeps, is specified by add-step and add-condition in 24 communities (2.36), at T3-054 (T4-028, D07). Carrying on is new work begun before the close. Communities restart recruiting, building and defence on a successor canvas, remake the work in other media while placement is live, and make continuing depend on upkeep they can bear and on finding helpers.
- A09, P12 to P13 (the record carried on), is restricted in 16 communities (1.79), at T3-054 (T4-028, D07). Carrying on does not wait for the record: successor invitations and remaking come before or beside the final image. In 11 of the 16 lines the arrow fails as stated.
Restrict lines and held proposals
The restrict lines on arrows. Of the 316 restrict lines on arrows held by D's defining communities, 171 say the arrow fails here (the form's account, section 7; one reader's sort). A13 is the only arrow with 20 lines or more where the record cannot show it (14 lines) outnumbers the arrow failing (12).
The held proposals (QD4-001). Form D's cells do not touch them at the form level: D specifies keeping by watches, not P05's telling clause, and leaves A11 untouched. Both are stated in full in the head.
Show three of its communities
The selection rule, logged in the diary before any community was read (_analysis/d6a14_select_D.py).
- The three leaves of D's kept splits, D.1, D.2.1 and D.2.2, partition its 96 defining communities, and help and carrying on are held by different communities. So one community is taken per leaf, as for form B's facets. This is my licence.
- For each leaf, the candidates are its defining communities within the nearer half of D's defining distances to its centre (at or below 0.9042, the median), and nearer D's centre than any other form's.
- They are ranked by selected changes, then coded concepts, then distance, and the first is taken. No fallback was needed.
The three communities:
- D.1, keeping with the call: r/rotmg (
room-D-rotmg.md): distance 0.8231, 8th nearest of 96; 20 selected changes, against the form's defining median of 11; 18 candidates. - D.2.1, the play, carried on: r/bindingofisaac (
room-D-bindingofisaac.md): distance 0.8037, 4th nearest; 23 selected changes; 14 candidates. - D.2.2, the play, kept: r/romania (
room-D-romania.md): distance 0.8987, 45th nearest; 15 selected changes; 2 candidates.
r/romania is the farthest of the three, because D.2.2 is the smallest part and only 2 of its communities lie in the nearer half. Each of the three communities is also among the three the form's account names as nearest its own part's centre (section 14).
Form E: The sub's play, run as work, 98 communities
The sub's play, run as work
The host sub's April Fools play is organized like canvas work (rules enforced, claims tested, breakage repaired, an end argued, a record kept), and the canvas work beside it is thinner in the record.
Change signature:
- T4-001 Keying (D06): changed by 71% of the form's defining communities, 3.84 times the population
- T4-027 Collective memory (D07): changed by 40% of the form's defining communities, 1.66 times the population
- T4-007 Direct information sharing (D02): changed by 37% of the form's defining communities, 2.82 times the population
The telling
How the changes follow one another. The form's communities start, build, keep and talk with their neighbours as the model says. They leave R01, P01, P03, keeping (P05), border talk (P08), the template (P04, A11) and the arrows around keeping and the neighbours (A03 to A06, A13, A14, A19) untouched at the form level. Beside all of it runs the sub's own April Fools play, organised like canvas work (K01). The canvas work enters the threads as calls and as reports of the artwork's state. So the record holds the call and the report but not the hands between them (A01). It holds the start and the call in one post (A02), and the attack talk inside the recruiting (A15). The design is fitted to the host and the means (P02). Scripts help on conditions (P14), and the chat returns claims, not deliberation (P23). A loss ends one part of the work, not the community's place (A10), and restraint answers harm or overlap (A16). The marking does not wait for a finished artwork (A07), and the record does not wait for the marking (A08). Carrying on is offered after the record, and is not shown taken up (A09, P13). In short, the form's communities run their sub's play as work, and their canvas work shows in the record as calls, reports, celebrations and records, with the work between them thinner.
What the marks do to the claim
Each change carries two marks: one from the rule's thresholds (D6a-09) and one from the size-held test (D6a-10).
- Marked "robust": 4. K01, A01, A07 and A15 keep their relation at ratio 1.5 and floor 15 per cent, and each survives size matching.
- Size-dependent: 3. A02 fails when matched on canvas-work concepts (1.12). A10 (1.16) and A09 (0.96) fail when matched on coded concepts.
- Marginal and not size-dependent: 6. P02 and P13 keep their relation at ratio 1.5 with the 10 per cent floor. A16 and A08 keep it with the 15 per cent floor at ratio 1.2. P14 and P23 lean only at the rule's own thresholds.
So form E's claim rests on the sub's play, run as work (K01). It is held by 56 of the 84 defining communities at 3.61 times the share, the highest lean of the 72 changed cells in all six forms. Matched on size, it keeps 5.0 times the share on coded concepts and 8.5 times on canvas-work concepts. The form's other sharp changes are restrictions on arrows that say what the record cannot show: the call and the building apart (A01), the attack talk inside the recruiting (A15), and the marking before a finished artwork (A07). They describe what these communities' records hold, the play and the canvas work as calls and reports, more than a different way of doing the canvas work. The size-dependent cells (A02, A10, A09) are restrictions that communities of the same size make as often. Form E is best read as the communities whose record is the sub's play, run as work, with the canvas work thinner beside it. The form's account names the limit: the form's lean is on the same key that the branch F01 was cut on, so the two restate each other in part.
Show what defines the form, cell by cell
What defines the form against the population model
The change signature. Three fourth-order themes are changed by this form's defining communities at 1.5 times the population's share or more, by a third of them or more (the allocation's own columns):
- Keying (T4-001, Host framing), the theme of the April Fools frame, changed by 60 of the 84 defining communities (71 per cent), 3.84 times the population;
- Collective memory (T4-027, Imprinting), the theme of recording and remembering the work, 34 communities, 1.66 times;
- Direct information sharing (T4-007, Coordination without command), the theme of reporting the artwork's state, 31 communities, 2.82 times.
Form E is the most separate of the six forms: 8 of its 84 defining communities lie nearer another form's centre, and every other form's centre lies 0.68 or more from E's (the form's account, section 13). E keeps no split below it.
The changed cells. Read against the 66 elements and arrows by the rule of D6a-01, the form changes 13 units. Eight of them are arrows, all restricted. They follow the model's own course, from the frame to carrying on.
- The sub's play. K01, the April Fools frame, is specified by add-step and add-condition in 56 defining communities (3.61 times the share), at T3-023, running an April Fools takeover, T3-048, reacting to official April Fools, and T3-001, staging April Fools fake news (T4-001 Keying, D06). The play is run as work. Moderators start it and set its rules, and real removals and bots enforce them. Members test claims and repair what the styling breaks. They argue the play's end by the clock and the time zone, and ask that its changes be kept.
- The start and the call.
- A02, R01 to P01 (the start before the call), is restricted in 11 communities (1.41), at T3-020, choosing a canvas spot, and T3-038, building and reporting the artwork (T4-014 Territoriality and T4-007 Direct information sharing); the arrow sits in Critical mass (D01). The start and the first call share one post or turn, and in two communities a call came before the start.
- A01, P01 to P03 (the call brings builders), is restricted in 23 communities (1.80), most often at T3-038 (T4-007 Direct information sharing, D02). The call and the building appear apart in the record: replies do not show that the call brought the builders, and calls recur while building goes on.
- A15, P01 to P09 (a call's hands can turn on a rival), is restricted in 16 communities (1.66), at T3-010, settling borders with neighbours (T4-016 Negotiated order); the arrow sits in Contention (D08). The attack talk sits inside the recruiting: recruitment and proposals to attack share a thread or a call, and the lines do not show that the recruited builders became the attackers.
- The design and the means.
- P02, settling what the artwork will show, is specified by add-condition in 9 communities (1.81), at T3-004, settling the artwork's design (T4-006 Collective representation, D02). The design depends on the host and the means: a host's approval for space, the colours and size available, and the upkeep of a picture already standing.
- P14, scripts and spare accounts, is specified by add-condition in 9 communities (1.49), at T3-028, running scripts for the work (T4-009 Workarounds, D02). Scripts help only on conditions: their targets must match the intended image and agreed overlaps, and a changed target must reach every runner.
- P23, the chat, is restricted in 12 communities (1.33), at T3-014, moving planning into a chat (T4-010 Backstage decision-making, D02). The thread records invitations to the chat and claims brought back from it, not how the chat decided or whether planning moved there.
- Loss and the move. A10, K02 to P10 (a community with too few hands moves), is restricted in 34 communities (1.20), at T3-010 and T3-005, defending the work (T4-013 Repair work and T4-016 Negotiated order); the arrow sits in Order without law (D04). Judging the hands too few ends one member's part or one expansion, not the community's place: the others keep repairing, recruit or finish, and no completed move is shown.
- The contest. A16, P09 to P07 (an attack call is refused), is restricted in 13 communities (1.49), at T3-010 (T4-016, D04). Restraint answers reported harm, overlap or a planned enlargement, not a written attack call refused inside the community.
- The marking and the record.
- A07, P03 to P11 (a finished artwork is marked), is restricted in 14 communities (1.50), at T3-009, celebrating the finished work, and T3-073, reporting how the work fared (T4-027 Collective memory and T4-026 Completion ritual, D07). The marking does not wait for a finished artwork: communities celebrate a recognisable or surviving emblem with planned additions unfinished, an incomplete attempt or a milestone, and pride and disappointment share the thread.
- A08, P11 to P12 (what is celebrated is kept on record), is restricted in 24 communities (1.46), at T3-073 (T4-027, D07). The record does not wait for the celebration: timelapses, live updates and reports of loss come before any celebration, and where both appear the lines show an order, not a cause.
- Carrying on.
- A09, P12 to P13 (the record carried on), is restricted in 10 communities (1.28), at T3-054, carrying work to new canvases (T4-028 Transition, D07). Carrying on follows the record in order only: successor invitations and reuse come after final images, but no line shows the record causing them.
- P13, what the community keeps, is restricted in 10 communities (1.95), at T3-054 (T4-028, D07). Carrying on is invited or proposed more than taken up: a successor canvas or a reused chat is offered, and adoption or continued work is not shown.
Restrict lines and held proposals
The restrict lines on arrows. Of the 304 restrict lines on arrows held by E's defining communities, the arrow fails here in 130 and the record cannot show it in 113 (37 per cent), more than in any of forms A to D (the form's account, section 7; one reader's sort).
The held proposals (QD4-001). Form E's cells do not touch them at the form level: it leaves keeping (P05) and the template's arrow (A11) untouched. Both are stated in full in the head.
Show three of its communities
The selection rule, logged in the diary before any community was read (_analysis/d6a11_select_rooms.py, the rule of forms A and C, unchanged).
- The candidates are form E's defining communities within the nearest quarter of distances to the form's centre (at or below 0.8514, the first quartile of the 84), and nearer E's centre than any other form's. That gives 20 candidates.
- They are ranked by selected changes, then coded concepts, then distance.
- The first three are taken.
The three communities:
- r/fivenightsatfreddys (
room-E-fivenightsatfreddys.md): distance 0.7051, 2nd nearest of 84; 22 selected changes, against the form's defining median of 11. - r/warframe (
room-E-warframe.md): distance 0.7042, the nearest of the 84; 21 selected changes. - r/stevenuniverse (
room-E-stevenuniverse.md): distance 0.8262, 13th nearest; 19 selected changes.
r/fivenightsatfreddys and r/warframe are both read in the form's account (sections 1 and 8).
Form F: Moving for the spot, 56 communities
Moving for the spot
Communities ask for space before they build, move when the spot is lost, taken or claimed more than for too few hands, and build again at the new spot.
Change signature:
- T4-014 Territoriality (D04): changed by 94% of the form's defining communities, 5.36 times the population
- T4-005 Mobilization (D01): changed by 44% of the form's defining communities, 1.67 times the population
- the link Repair work > Negotiated order: changed by 41% of the form's defining communities, 1.55 times the population
The telling
How the changes follow one another. The form's communities start and settle a design as the model says. They leave R01, P02, border terms (P08), sparing (P07), the contest (P09, A15 to A18), help (P16, A13, A14) and carrying on (P13, A09) untouched at the form level. They also leave the move itself (P10) as stated: what F changes is what brings the move. The course runs as follows. Before the community builds, it looks for a spot and asks the neighbour or the host for it (A04, P19). The record holds the request more than the answer. A call goes out, and the answers ask where to help (A12). Scripts come with the building (A06, P14), and keeping begins before the artwork is finished (P05). When the spot is taken, claimed or lost, the community moves for the spot's reasons, not its hands (A10). It chooses a spot again after the loss (P27), and it calls, lays out a template and builds again at the new spot (P01, P04, P03). In some communities the cycle repeats. The marking answers a partial work (A07), and the record runs from the fate of the work, often its failure (P12). The model draws no arrow from the move back to building, and the form's lines show this return as description, not as a tested arrow. In short, the form's communities spend their work on the spot: asking for it, losing it, moving and building again.
What the marks do to the claim
Each change carries two marks: one from the rule's thresholds (D6a-09) and one from the size-held test (D6a-10).
- Marked "robust": 7. P01, P03, P04, A06, P19, A04 and A07 keep their relation at ratio 1.5 and floor 15 per cent, and each survives size matching. Form F has the most such cells of the six.
- Size-dependent: 1. A12 fails when matched on coded concepts (1.16).
- Marginal and not size-dependent: 6. P27 and P12 keep their relation at ratio 1.5 with the 10 per cent floor. P14, P05, A10 and K01 keep it with the 15 per cent floor at ratio 1.2.
So form F's claim is sharp but small. Seven of the 20 cells that survive the stricter rule are F's, and they are the cells of its course: asking first (A04, P19), building again (P03, P04, P01), scripts with the building (A06) and the marking of a partial work (A07). They survive when F's short-recorded communities are compared with communities of the same size, so they are not an artefact of the short records. But each rests on 6 to 13 communities, and the form's whole claim rests on 34. The move itself is marginal: A10 is held by 16 communities, the most of any F cell, but leans only 1.40 times the population. So the form's name rests less on the move than on what surrounds it, the asking before and the building after. Form F is best read as the communities whose record is the search for space: asking first, moving for the spot, and building again.
Show what defines the form, cell by cell
What defines the form against the population model
The change signature. Three columns are changed by this form's defining communities at 1.5 times the population's share or more, by a third of them or more (the allocation's own columns):
- Territoriality (T4-014, Order without law), the theme of space and claims to it, changed by 32 of the 34 defining communities (94 per cent), 5.36 times the population, the highest ratio of any form's signature;
- Mobilization (T4-005, Critical mass), the theme of calls, 15 communities, 1.67 times;
- the link from Repair work to Negotiated order, lines that join keeping the artwork to terms with neighbours, 14 communities, 1.55 times.
The call and the terms are held by the same communities more than chance gives (8 against 6.2), and every community that holds either holds territoriality (the form's account, section 14). F keeps no split below it.
The changed cells. Read against the 66 elements and arrows by the rule of D6a-01, the form changes 14 units. They follow the model's own course, and they gather on the three acts the form's name gives: the community asks for space before it builds, moves when the spot is lost, taken or claimed, and builds again at the new spot.
- The call.
- A12, P01 to P15 (the bare answer to a call), is restricted in 10 defining communities (1.27 times the share), at T3-002, calling members in to place (T4-005 Mobilization, D01). Answers to a call often ask where or how to help, or give a reason, so the bare one-line join is one answer among several.
- Asking first.
- A04, P05 to P08 (keeping brings border talk), is restricted in 13 communities (1.67), at T3-035, asking a host for space, and T3-010, settling borders with neighbours (T4-014 Territoriality, D04). Border talk comes before keeping: communities ask neighbours for permission or access while they look for a spot or build, before any artwork exists to keep.
- P19, a guest's work under a host's rule, is restricted in 6 communities (2.05), at T3-035 (T4-014, D04). Hosting shows only at the request stage: a community applies, or asks a larger artwork for shelter, and no grant, protection or residence under the host's rules is shown.
- P27, choosing the spot before any loss, is restricted in 5 communities (2.28), at T3-022, relocating after losing the spot, and T3-020, choosing a canvas spot (T4-014, D04). The choice of a spot also comes after a loss, so the bound "before any loss" holds for one site decision, not for the community's whole history.
- Building with scripts, and keeping early.
- P14, scripts and spare accounts, is specified by add-step in 6 communities (1.26), at T3-028, running scripts for the work (T4-009 Workarounds, D02). Scripts and overlays are kept in step across accounts, and members switch automation off when they prefer to place by hand.
- A06, P05 to P14 (upkeep under strain brings scripts), is restricted in 9 communities (1.55), at T3-028 (T4-009, D02). Scripts came with the building, not after upkeep strained.
- P05, upkeep, is specified by add-step in 7 communities (1.49), at T3-021, watching and repairing the work (T4-013 Repair work, D03). Keeping begins before the artwork is finished: a border reserves the space, and defenders are planned before a stable work exists.
- Moving for the spot.
- A10, K02 to P10 (a community with too few hands moves), is restricted in 16 communities (1.40), most often at T3-020 (T4-014, D04). The move answers the spot more than the hands: a taken spot or a lack of permitted space moves the community, and where too few hands are named, the move is proposed or hesitant.
- Building again.
- P03, building, is specified by link in 12 communities (1.56), at T3-022 and T3-020 (T4-014; the element sits in Coordination without command, D02). Building returns after a move: a new spot or a new plan is followed by a new start and, in some communities, a smaller finished artwork.
- P04, templates and coordinates, is specified by add-step and link in 9 communities (1.41), at T3-039, yielding space when asked, and T3-020 (T4-014; D02). The template moves with the spot: a new site gets an anchor coordinate, and scarce hands make an exact first placement matter.
- P01, the community's calls for hands, is specified by link in 6 communities (1.70), at T3-038, building and reporting the artwork, and T3-022 (T4-014; D01). The call returns after a lost, taken or cleared spot.
- The marking and the record.
- A07, P03 to P11 (a finished artwork is marked), is restricted in 7 communities (1.85), at T3-009, T3-043 and T3-073 (T4-026 Completion ritual and T4-027 Collective memory, D07). The marking answers a partial or traced work: communities celebrate visible traces, mark a partial result at the close, and a success announcement meets objections and a new move.
- P12, records, is specified by link in 5 communities (3.16), at T3-016, T3-029 and T3-020 (T4-014; D07). The record links to the live talk and to failure: a question about the location draws a report of the work's fate, and unfinished building at the close leads straight to a tally and mourning, with no celebration between.
- The sub's play. K01, the April Fools frame, is specified by add-step in 9 communities (1.43), at T3-001, staging April Fools fake news, and T3-032, objecting to April Fools posts (T4-001 Keying, D06). Members argue the play's limits more than they run it: they contest a painful prank, demand consequences for its maker and test what is real.
Restrict lines and held proposals
The restrict lines on arrows. Of the 114 restrict lines on arrows held by F's defining communities, 72 say the arrow fails here, 63 per cent, the highest share of the six forms (the form's account, section 7; one reader's sort).
The held proposals (QD4-001). Form F's cells do not touch them at the form level: F specifies keeping (P05) by when it begins, not by its telling clause, and leaves A11 untouched. Both are stated in full in the head.
Show three of its communities
J's ruling (12:25 Berlin, through the PI). The three communities portray together what I find representative, and rich: "A mediod is not representative of a polyfaceted cluster." Nearness to the centre is not required.
The selection rule, logged in the diary before any community was read (_analysis/d6a16_select_F.py).
- What I find representative of F is its course, the three acts of its name. Each act is a changed cell of F with its op: asking first, a restrict line on A04, P19 or P27 (21 holders); moving for the spot, a restrict line on A10 (16); building again, a link line on P03 (12).
- One holder per act is taken, three different communities. The triple is the one with the most selected changes in sum, then the most of F's 14 changed cells shown together, then the most coded concepts.
- Each community's distance to F's centre is reported, not used.
The three communities:
- Asking first: r/sips (
room-F-sips.md): distance 0.7577, 2nd nearest of 34; 21 selected changes, against the form's defining median of 11. It holds this act alone. - Moving for the spot: r/planetside (
room-F-planetside.md): distance 0.8658, 15th nearest; 20 selected changes. It holds this act alone. - Building again: r/nbaspurs (
room-F-nbaspurs.md): distance 0.853, 12th nearest; 21 selected changes. It holds all three acts.
Together they hold 62 selected changes and show 11 of F's 14 changed cells; P01, P14 and P27 are shown by none of them. All three lie nearer F's centre than any other form's. r/sips was the community the form's account read at length, and r/nbaspurs is among the nearest communities of F's small part that leans to the April Fools frame (the form's account, section 14).

Every community of the six forms, with the mean community of each form on top in the same columns. Changes and codes: the community’s selected changes and coded concepts; on a mean row, the mean over every community of the form, thin and core communities included. Bars: how the community’s changes and codes divide over the eight dimensions, as shares within the community; on a mean row, the mean of the communities’ own shares, each community normalized first (communities with none are left out of that bar). Hover a bar for its percentages. Role (defining: 5 or more selected changes; thin: 1 to 4; core: none), the tree address and the community it was placed beside show on wider screens. Sort by a column head; the means stay on top and follow the form filter.

The audit
At the end of the run the aggregator audited what the record supports, with scripts over its own files (E1). Its verdict on whether the population model composes the 705 communities: unresolved.
Show the verdict at each level: population, forms and single community
- The population: supported. At the re-check the model composes 630 communities fully and 56 with residue, and fails to compose none.
- The forms: compiled, not composed. Of the 35 branches of shared changes, 2 explain their communities jointly.
- The single community: the shared account holds; full local fit is not established. For 30 communities drawn at random, a fresh reader found the model carrying the community coder's account in 0.87 of 1,788 claims, counting a partial match as half, and no claim contradicted it.
In five communities the audit examined closely, the verdict changed at the re-check because the model changed, not because of new evidence about the community. These are the aggregator's own checks.
The aggregator's review
Last, the aggregator reviewed how it had been handled and designed the next instrument (E2). It lists 12 inconsistencies in what it was told, 10 things that made the work harder and 7 that helped.
The costliest inconsistency concerned where the bound on P05, the model's account of repair, was to be written: the amendments made at D4 were reverted, so the frozen model keeps a clause that fails in nine communities. The first change it would make is to seal about a tenth of the communities before the aggregator reads any, and to return the frozen model to them last, so that composition below the population can be tested out of sample. The one thing it would not change is the return to every community, line by line, each line ruled with a reason and cited to the community's own concepts.
Steps, strengths and limitations
Show the 4 steps, with r/PlaceNL beside each
Build the tree (D4).
Ward clustering groups the 558 communities with five or more selected changes. The aggregator chooses a cut into six groups, over four and eight, and places the other 147 beside a community it judges similar.
r/PlaceNL
r/PlaceNL falls in form B, Behind the thread: chat, scripts, raids: a defining community, fourth nearest of 113 to the form's center.
Explain the branches (D5).
An account of each form: what defines it cell by cell, its defining communities, and where they depart from it.
r/PlaceNL
r/PlaceNL's 22 changes: 14 restrict, 4 add a condition, 3 add a step, 1 adds a link. Form B's own account calls it
a residual grouping, not a form
, held together by the chat, the scripts and the raids.Retell the model (D6).
The whole model is retold with its forms. New ideas stay unvalidated proposals.
Audit (E1) and feedback (E2).
The analysis and its record are audited, and feedback is used to examine the account.

Show the strengths and limitations: 3 and 3
Strengths
- Each form is traced to the communities and the return lines that define it.
- Alternative cuts, at four and eight groups, are recorded beside the chosen six.
- A form that does not hold together, like B, is labeled as such by its own account.
Limitations
- The forms are candidates: the aggregator chose the cut into six.
- Communities with fewer than five changes are placed by similarity, not clustered.
- No human audit of the forms has been made yet.
The closes of D4 to E2 open from Launch commands.
