Formalizing: audit | E1d
Reading copy of text saved at this checkpoint. Reading it creates no interview and sends no model call. These pages contain selected narrative files from the saved workspace.
Catalogue title: E1.E1d: reconstruction check. Checkpoint: aggregator--claude-v43-1--C4-field--E1.E1d. Interview and provenance.
Participant handles in these reading copies use the pixel stream's identifiers: base64(SHA1(username)), case preserved, without a salt. These are linkable pseudonyms. Profile links are removed; missing-author markers remain. Original research files are unchanged. Quote offsets refer to original text. Source and reading-copy hashes are listed separately.
Source commit: 389da7bc241d, 2026-10-28T00:29:14+01:00. Saved-state date: 2026-10-27T23:28:05Z. Committed checkpoint close receipt Commit date and saved-state date are distinct.
Original GitHub files and additional saved-state files are identified separately in the manifest. Original files were verified against their recorded hashes before participant identifiers were substituted for display. Native restore verification does not certify scientific closure.
Suggested starting file: audit-E1.md. Then inspect the model, evidence and notes below. This order is a reading aid; it does not change the research record.
Read the saved outputs
Open a file to read it here, or download its reading copy.
These saved files are reproduced as the agents wrote them. They keep the run's own words: a room is a community, a mark an artwork, the analyst the aggregator, the case lead the community coder and the global model the population model.

Audit of the run (stage E1)
Assembled at E1d, 28 October 2026, by
audit-E1/assemble.py from the parts in
audit-E1/, joined whole and in this order. Every figure in
it comes from a script in audit-E1/, with its rule in its
docstring and its output beside it, or from a reading by hand that the
diary logs. Nothing in it comes from anyone's account of itself, mine
included. Where a figure computed here differs from an earlier file, the
part says which is wrong.
| part | stage E1 section | written at |
|---|---|---|
| section 1, parts 1 to 5 | 1: scripts over the record | E1b-01 to E1b-05 |
| section 2 | 2: the ledgers, the stories, what a reader was given | E1b-06 |
| section 3 | 3: composition at each level, expectations and contrasts | E1b-07 |
| section 4 | 4: the reconstruction sample | E1d |
| section 5 | 5: versioned judgments, side by side | E1d |
| the composition result | 3 and the closing instruction | E1d |
| sections 6 and 7 | 6: which stage was load-bearing; 7: what the study cannot say | E1b-08 |
| the methods paragraph | 8 | E1d |
The parts written before E1d say that the reconstruction had not yet run. Sections 4 and 5 and the composition result report it. Where section 3 and sections 6 and 7 say the leaf waits on the reconstruction, the composition result gives its outcome.
Audit, section 1, part 1: the quotes and the clocks (E1b-01)
Written at E1b-01, 27 October 2026. This part covers four items of
stage E1 section 1: the logs against the claims (every quote and every
id), the quotes against the raw record, the store's figures recomputed,
and the clocks. Every figure below comes from a script in
audit-E1/, with its output beside it under the same stem,
or from a reading by hand that the diary logs. A stranger reruns a
script with
python3 out/audit-E1/<script>.py > out/audit-E1/<output>.
The scripts written at this leg are unresolved_read.py,
unresolved_hand.py, quote_sources_check.py,
labels_read.py, case_missing_read.py,
relations_clock.py and links_views.py. Each
states its rule in its docstring, written before it ran. Nothing here
comes from any account of the run, my own included; where an earlier
file differs, this part says which is wrong.
1. Logs against claims
Every quote in every output
quotes_resolve.py (E1a) scanned 5,953 files I wrote:
every .md file under out/ and the string
fields of my ledgers. It left out the harness's, the fleets', the
principal investigator's and the generated files, which its docstring
names. 5,166 of the files hold a quote. A quote is a span between paired
double quotes on one line. The script resolved each span in a fixed
order: the participant's words of a concept, then a label or note, then
the coder's case account, then the instrument's texts, then the
instructions, then nothing.
| quotes | spans | resolve to |
|---|---|---|
cited to a concept (sub/cNNNN) |
3,230 | 3,218 to the concept cited (99.63 per cent); 12 do not |
cited to an item (`itemid`) |
405 | 361 to a concept's words, 34 to the case account alone, 2 to a label, 8 to nothing |
uncited, five words or more, in .md files |
76,848 | 69,079 to a concept's words, 3,639 to a label or note, 1,955 to the instrument's texts, 73 to the instructions, 68 to a case account, 2,034 to nothing |
The 12 cited quotes that do not resolve to their
concept, read by hand in their files against
cite.py. Two are faults of form. Ten are faults of the
script, not of the quote.
| file, line | cited | what it is |
|---|---|---|
account-p1.md 23 |
suomi/c0098 | Fault. My English translation of the Finnish post is set in quotation marks beside the original, which resolves, with no word saying it is a translation. |
notes-A1.md 700 |
predators/c0047 | Fault by the stage's rule. The quote is the concept's label, and the sentence says it is a label. Nothing is passed off as a member's words. |
forms/F06-account.md 100,
forms/F10-account.md 164, forms/F23-account.md
125, notes-C5.md 564 |
rust/c0144, buffalobills/c0127, greyblob/c0037, pokemon/c0506 | The quote is a coder's or reader's return line, or an element's statement, named as such; the citation belongs to the next sentence. |
serial-C5/finding-1-unit.md 71 to 74 |
fireemblem/c0412, utahjazz/c0030, lakers/c0155 | The quote is the model's wording, in a table beside a column of evidence ids. |
forms/F16-account.md 161 |
pcmasterrace/c0596 | "focus on the plan" is in pcmasterrace/c0593, cited one clause before for the same member's post. |
serial-C5/finding-2-reason-test.md 82 |
polyamory/c0002 | The store writes the slash as /r\/place; the quote is
word for word. |
The 2,042 spans that resolved to nothing (2,034
uncited and 8 cited to an item). unresolved_read.py sorts
them. 983 are field values of JSON records printed inside
.md files (the structure files hold 927 of them), not
quotes. 975 are found whole once the store's escapes, asterisks and
backticks are set aside: 131 in a concept's words, 31 in the forest, 2
in a case account, 320 in the readers' and coders' returns, 5 in the
operator's texts and 486 in the run's own other files. The 8 cited to an
item are the field's quotes, found whole in out/field/.
That leaves 84, 52 near a source and 32 near none.
unresolved_hand.py finds where each first appears in the
transcripts, and I read each in its line.
- 63 in my files.
- 16 are the operator's or the harness's words. Each first appears in a message to me: J's rulings in the head, the principal investigator's leg messages, a ruling that came as an attachment, and the brief's phrase "N threads out of scope".
- 8 are texts I first saw in a tool's output: shelf pages, and counts quoted from an earlier file.
- 8 are literature quotes that
quote_sources_check.pyputs beside the shelf. The shelf files are two-column extractions, so the words come interleaved with the other column and broken at line ends. Read through, each quote is the paper's words. One example: Felin and Zenger's "a set of contrarian beliefs" is "a set of con-trarian beliefs" across a line break. - 24 are my own earlier wordings, quoted as such: statements under test, an earlier version of a proposition, a sentence later corrected.
- 1 is a translation I declared as mine (
literature-C3.mdline 235, "My translation"). - 2 are small misquotes of the instrument.
notes-C1.mdline 144 has "apply" where the stage has "applying". Line 453 has "a rivalry" where the scheme has "A dispute or rivalry". - 3 are examples of my own in quotation marks, which a reader could
take for members' words: "help us at 200, 300"
(
_adjudication-B4/boundaries.md59), "those were not our people" (confusions.md47) and "defending the script as fun" (coordinating-rule-A1.md32). No concept holds them. - 1 cannot be checked. J's instruction on reading is quoted in
notes-B2.mdline 5, but no transcript holds its words before my own Write at B2a-r1. The message that carried it is outside my reach, so the wording rests on my record alone.
- 21 in the readers' room models
(
rooms//model-D*.md, written by the D2 and D3 readers, not by me). 11 quote a concept with small changes: a word dropped, a spelling corrected, a contraction opened. 3 paraphrase inside quotation marks: r/armenia's line on the Dutch, r/zootopia's "patch of artwork" for "patch of space", and r/straya's "breaking the truce is Un-Australian". 7 are in no concept of the room. They may come from uncoded items, which the forest drops, or they may not; I cannot tell.
The 3,641 spans that resolve to a label or note
(3,639 uncited and 2 cited to an item). The stage counts a quote that
resolves to a label as a defect. labels_read.py sorts them.
3,560 are the second_order field of the JSON exemplar
records in the structure files, not quotes. Of the 81 in prose, I read a
seeded 25.
- In my files, 16 name a label as a label: a theme by its name, or a room note's "struck by" line. 1 is a packet's line format, and 1 is a defect.
- In the readers' room models, 4 are faithful quotes whose concept text holds link or emphasis markup. 2 paraphrase inside quotation marks (r/asexuality, r/smite), and 1 cannot be told (r/norge).
The 2 cited to an item are both defects of mine, made at D6a-17 and
D6a-18. In dutch-telling-D6/greece.md line 36, "the heart
was placed cooperatively later" is the coder's English for a Greek post
(greece/c0126, item dfrvs5t), and I gave it as a member's
words with no original. In
form-telling-D6-r2/room-E-paladins.md line 26, "April
Fools' shenanigans" is the coder's wording; the post says "April Fools'
Day, so expect shenanigans" (paladins/c0001). I carried both from the
case account. My D6 quote check tested quotes against the case account,
so it passed them.
Five quotes drawn by seed
(cd472a6087a223d4, from the cited quotes that resolve),
checked by hand with cite.py --room --code. All five hold
word for word, with the room, the concept and the hour the accounts
give:
- Moondye7/c0066 (
forms/F19-account.md17); - lebanon/c0105 (
forms/F35-account.md60); - fivenightsatfreddys/c0074 (
forms/F07-account.md160, "at h+7"; the store has 7.15); - OnePiece/c0228 (
forms/F27-account.md9, "hour 51.18"; the store has 51.18); - Rainbow6/c0589 (
forms/F20-account.md162, "at the close"; the store has 73.29).
Every id in the head, the questions and the views
links.py and validate.py --links both exit
0, and all ids resolve (links_check.txt). But
links.py reads three files only: _head.md and
the two question files. It does not read the views.
links_views.py applies its own resolver, imported, to the
35 text files of out/_views/. They hold 537,153 tokens of
an id's shape, and 487 do not resolve. I read all 487:
- 413 are in
data-structure.tsv, and all are members' words in its material column: 363 subreddit names as typed (210 distinct, typos among them), and 50 tokens such as "the D2 logo" and the names of a game console and of a gun, each a capital letter and two digits. - 40 are the proposition ids N01 to N09 in
figure-model.md.propositions.jsonlholds them, butlinks.pydoes not load it. - 32 are stage names written bare in the generated views (D2, D3, D4 and D6).
- 1 is a logo name in a reader's line, a capital letter and two digits.
- 1 comes from one store pointer that names two rooms in one string.
No id of the model, the scheme or the store fails to resolve.
2. The quotes against the raw record
quote-check-E1.json was computed by the handler outside
my session, over 80 rooms drawn with seed 13. It is the one place where
the run touches the raw record. The store and cite.py serve
only the coded record, and the methods paragraph says so. The file gives
two shares:
- code_quote_found_share: 1.0 (100 per cent). Of 14,587 coded quotes, 13,374 are at their offsets in the item and 1,213 are elsewhere in it; 0 are absent and 0 items are missing.
- case_quote_found_share: 0.6573 (65.73 per cent). Of 1,599 quoted strings of 25 characters or more in the case accounts, 1,051 are found in the room's corpus.
The 548 against the 389. The file lists 389 missing strings, against 548 by its own count (1,599 less 1,051). It lists at most ten a room. In the 13 rooms where it lists fewer than it counts, 289 are missing and 130 are listed; 289 less 130 is 159, and 548 less 159 is 389.
What the 389 are (case_missing_read.py,
then a reading by hand):
| kind | strings | what it is |
|---|---|---|
| in the room's coded passages | 242 | Participant words. The raw check missed them because the coder put punctuation inside the closing quote, or because the item holds link markup or other quote marks. |
| the coder's own labels | 85 | Theme or concept labels, quoted in the case account as labels. |
| near quotes | 10 | Participant words with link markup removed or inner quote marks changed. |
| thread titles | 7 | Titles of the room's threads. |
| another room's concept | 1 | A quote from outside the room's corpus: the r/PokemonSage account quotes a post that r/TheFarLeftSide's record holds. |
| the coder's translations | 5 | English in quotation marks beside the Albanian originals, which are quoted and cited (r/albania). |
| the coder's own phrases | 6 | A counter-reading's wording in quotation marks ("negotiated rather than destructive", "failure caused the strategy change"). |
| participant words from uncoded items, cited by item id | 33 | Outside my reach. The forest drops uncoded items, so I cannot check these against the raw record. Five are titles of threads the store does not hold. |
So, of the strings I could check, none is an invention. The missing share is mostly a matter of punctuation and markup, of the coder's own labels and phrases, and of translations. The five translations among the 389 are set beside their originals. The r/greece translation found in part 1, outside this sample, has none. 33 strings remain unchecked.
3. The store's figures recomputed
store_figures.py (E1a) sets
README-store.md, stage A1's recomputation and the store as
it stands in three columns. All 16 figures agree, so there is no defect.
A dash in the table means the source gives no figure.
| figure | README-store.md | A1 | now |
|---|---|---|---|
| rooms | 705 | 705 | 705 |
| concepts | 115,388 | 115,388 | 115,388 |
| retracted, dropped | 175 | 175 | 175 |
| second-order themes | 7,844 | 7,844 | 7,844 |
| unjoined concepts | 38 | 38 | 38 |
| items in the store | 158,227 | 158,227 | 158,227 |
| threads in the store | 42,906 | 42,906 | 42,906 |
| pointers | 20,110 | 20,110 | 20,110 |
| briefs | 705 | 705 | 705 |
| transitions | 62,838 | - | 62,838 |
| forest: threads given | - | 42,906 | 42,906 |
| forest: items | - | 531,851 | 531,851 |
| forest: coded | - | 109,807 | 109,807 |
| forest: bridge | - | 28,350 | 28,350 |
| forest: removed | - | 617 | 617 |
| forest: dropped | - | 393,077 | 393,077 |
The 158,227 item lines hold 137,732 distinct room and item ids.
21,011 lines are in the state collapsed, which
README-store.md does not name; stage A1 recorded this as a
defect.
4. The clocks
The coder's time against the item's
(clocks.py, E1a). In all 115,350 concepts whose item the
store holds, the concept's created_utc equals the item's.
Every concept's hour matches its own
created_utc. The denominator is 115,350 of 115,388
concepts; the 38 others are the unjoined concepts. One limit: the
store's builder, tools/build_store.py, is not in the
folder. So I cannot tell whether the coder wrote the concept's time or
the build copied it from the item. If the build copied it, the agreement
holds by construction and says nothing about the coder.
The second check, against
relations.jsonl (relations_clock.py;
tools/relations.py builds the graph and checks no clock). A
pair counts where both rooms are studied, each room's coder recorded the
other, and the two sides record one act from both ends (attacked and
attacked-by, gave and asked help, negotiated, allied). There are 476
such pairs. For each, the script takes the smallest gap between a
concept of one side and a concept of the other:
- 187 lie within 1 hour;
- 142 more lie within 6 hours;
- 105 more lie within 24 hours;
- 42 lie further apart.
Ten pairs drawn by seed, read by hand with cite.py:
- Four date one encounter close together, as the words
say.
- r/anime and r/satania, 0.91 hours: the sign's maker thanks r/satania, and r/satania gathers its threads.
- r/europe and r/formula1, 2.6 hours: "let them have their white border", then "EU flag overlaps with our logo".
- r/chibears and r/finland, 0.04 hours: one member's comment, whose edit links the plea that member then posted in r/finland.
- r/suomi and r/unitedkingdom, 0.83 hours.
- Four hold different moments of a longer tie: r/uiuc and r/uofm, r/stevenuniverse and r/yogscast, r/OnePiece and r/pathofexile, r/lakers and r/nbaspurs.
- Two hold concepts that do not speak of each other: r/placestart and r/thebluecorner; r/argentina and r/uruguay, where the nearest r/argentina concept is about the room's own work, not about r/uruguay's call for help.
No pair dates one encounter at two times. One order is unsettled. In r/suomi a member writes "I have opened negotiations" 0.83 hours before the same member's opening post in r/unitedkingdom. The concept's label ties the negotiation to r/argentina's offer, so the words do not settle with whom it was opened.
Datings in written order (clocks.py).
In 237 of the 598 case accounts with two or more datings in their
Chronology, the datings step back at least once. Each model arrow names
2 to 4 rooms (A21 names none), and 14 of the 21 arrows name at least one
such room. This does not touch a loop: stage C2 admits a loop only where
one room's datings run the whole way round, and the model grounds no
loop. The arrows' order rests on the items' own times, which the
transitions carry, not on the order in which a case account tells its
threads. A Chronology that steps back tells one thread and then returns
to an earlier one.
5. Defects named at this leg
Eight lines were appended to defects.jsonl (lines 102 to
109, stage E1, leg E1b-01), by
_analysis/e1b01_defects_lines.py. No earlier file is
changed.
- The instrument's (5):
- my translation in quotation marks (
account-p1.md23); - the two D6 quotes carried from case accounts (r/greece, r/paladins);
- two small misquotes of the instrument (
notes-C1.md144 and 453); - three examples of my own in quotation marks;
- five paraphrases in quotation marks in the readers' room models.
- my translation in quotation marks (
- Provenance (1, not sure): J's reading instruction
in
notes-B2.mdhas no record before my own Write. - The material's (2):
- the case accounts' translations, labels and phrases in quotation marks;
- one store pointer whose name holds two rooms.
What this part cannot say
- Whether 33 case-account strings and 7 reader quotes are the participants' words. They come from uncoded items, which neither the store nor the forest holds.
- Whether the coder or the build wrote each concept's time.
- Whether J's reading instruction was worded as
notes-B2.mdquotes it. - How the 80 rooms of the raw check would compare with the other 625. The 0.6573 is that sample's share, and my sorting of its 389 listed strings is a reading of the listed strings only.
Audit, section 1, part 2: the orderings, the counts, coverage and the canvas (E1b-02)
Written at E1b-02, 27 October 2026. This part covers four items of
stage E1 section 1: the orderings proved by snaps, the counts rule,
coverage, and rule 7's uses of the canvas. It also reports J's answer to
QE1-001. Every figure comes from a script in audit-E1/,
with its output beside it, or from a reading by hand that the diary
logs. The scripts written at this leg are
prior_sections.py, snap_order.py,
counts_phrases.py and counts_sample_check.py;
E1a's orderings.py, counts_rule.py,
coverage.py and canvas_uses.py are read here.
Each script states its rule in its docstring, written before it ran. A
first run with a fault is kept under a .superseded-N
name.
1. Orderings proved by snaps
A snap (out/_snap/<name>.sha256) holds the hash,
size and time of every file in out/ at one moment. At E1a's
count there were 658 snaps with a header, from 6 October 12:29 to 27
October 15:33. For each ordering the stage names, the table says whether
the snap's hash equals the file's as it stands, or whether the file
moved after the snap, and which.
| ordering | result | what the snaps show |
|---|---|---|
| The scheme frozen before B3's first batch | held | scheme_final.jsonl has two hashes in all snaps.
fb8b543a9898 is at B2b-r3-p3's close (12 October
12:43:18Z). 4b471d29dd41 is in 541 snaps, from B2c's
packets-out (13:10:24Z) to now. B3's first fleet call was at 15:17:38Z.
The file has not moved since. |
prior.md sections 1 to 6 sealed before B1's first
theme_discovery.jsonl line |
held, proved by rebuilding the text | prior.md has two hashes in all snaps.
7aa5240047ce is in 321 snaps, from B1a's close (7 October
13:16:39Z) to C5. The first theme line is at 13:56:08.
prior_sections.py rebuilt the file from the analyst's
writes in the transcripts: a Write at 13:13:59Z and an Edit at 13:15:03Z
give 7aa5240047ce. Two Edits at D1a (15 October 15:56Z)
give 720068eeaf87, the file as it stands. Section by
section, the preamble and sections 1 to 6 are the same, byte for byte,
then and now. Only sections 7 and 8 changed: at B1 both held the same
placeholder text, and now each holds its own. No shell command wrote
prior.md. |
Sections 7 and 8 sealed at D1 before DROPS/D/ was
ingested |
held | 720068eeaf87 is first snapped at D1a's packets-out (15
October 19:44:16Z). The first snap that lists
adaptations.jsonl, the ingested return, is D2a's
adaptations-in (16 October 10:17:19Z). The file has not moved
since. |
| The model hashed at C5's close before D1 | held; the model moved after, by declared amendments | e15f96470271… is at C5c-13's close (15 October
14:42:06Z), and D1's first snap is at 19:44:16Z. The model moved at D3,
to 46384686d617…, by the return's rulings (moves 172 to
197). That is the model at D6 and now. |
Every D4 move snapped before projections-D4.jsonl and
the chunk-share tree |
held for the branch cuts; the room forms came after, by J's ruling | 34 D4 move snaps changed branches.jsonl from the snap
before (moves 201 to 236). The last, D4-move-merging-236,
is at 25 October 16:21:31Z. The first snap that lists the projection is
D4a-03's interview cut at 19:16:07Z. 82 D4 snaps list the projection or
the chunk-share files, and none of them changed
branches.jsonl. branches.jsonl as it stands
equals its last D4 snap. |
| Every move snap at C2 to D3 | held | 198 move snaps carry the move numbers 1 to 197, with none missing.
Sorted by number, they are sorted by time, but for one pair.
D3-move-181-1 (21 October 09:31:59Z) is a second snap of
move 181's state, 24 seconds before D3-move-developing-181.
The diary named it as wrongly named and unused at D3a-53. |
| Every D6 proposal against its evidence and status | status held; evidence in part 3 | proposals-D6.jsonl holds 11 lines, all
unvalidated, all on base 46384686d617…, the D3
freeze. amendments-D6.jsonl holds 0 lines. The file has 6
hashes in 19 D6 snaps, and each change falls at the leg its new lines
name (D6a-01 to D6a-07). It is unchanged from D6a-07's close to
D6a-18's. |
A hash shows a whole file, not each of its lines. So these are self-reported:
- that the earlier lines of
proposals-D6.jsonlstayed as written while lines were added; - every other claim the run makes about the order of its work.
QE1-001. Stage E1's close-check first counted as
errors the 82 D4 snaps that list the projection. J ruled on 27 October
(18:45 Berlin, through the principal investigator): "Yes. I would not
change the structure of the journey for bookkeeping." The handler
amended the check. A D4 snap now counts as a branch cut only where it
changed branches.jsonl, and the 82 are printed as findings.
snap_order.py confirms that none of the 82 changed the
branches. They are the six room forms, made after the projection at J's
instruction: the D4a-03 interview cut, the closes of D4a-04 to D4a-08,
and moves 238 to 313. They are not a recut of the branches.
2. The counts rule (rule 19)
The census, stated twice
(counts_rule.py):
package/store/rooms.jsonllists 705 rooms, and 705 room folders hold a case account. They are the same set.dropped.jsonlholds 0 lines, so there is no drop and no reason to give.tools/counts.pygives 705 analysed rooms, 115,388 concepts and 7,844 second-order themes.
Stage D4 section 4's four counts: 476 in a branch +
0 unadapted + 229 in no branch + 0 unreturned = 705, which is
n_analysed.
The head's ledger figures, against the ledgers as
the head stands now (counts_phrases.py). All seven agree:
adjudications 96,568, verdicts 1,029, tier history 1,026, model history
182, findings 45, elements 45 and arrows 21. E1a's
counts_rule.json shows tier history 1,020 against 1,026.
That is no longer true: it read the head before E1a's own Edit.
Every count in every handback.
counts_rule.py found 361 phrases of a number and a counted
noun in the 18 handbacks.
counts_phrases.pysets aside 32 that are not counts: 26 whose number is followed by a comma (an id, a move number or a list item) and 6 decimals. That leaves 329 counts.- Checking 329 by hand is more than one leg can do, so a seeded sample
of two per handback, 36, was checked by
counts_sample_check.pyand by hand. The sample is drawn byout/seed.txt, and its rule was written before the run.
| result | counts | which |
|---|---|---|
| recomputed from the governing file, and agree | 27 | One of them, handback-A1's "7 lines" of defects, became 8 later in A1, as the same handback's line 72 records. |
| agree with a stated parameter or list | 4 | 500 shuffles (twice) is c2_arrow_evidence.py's default;
the 6 items are field-C4.md's list 3; the 20 arrows are the
20 drawn in figure-C5.md, where A21 is not drawn. |
| rest on a judgment by hand that no file lets me recompute | 3 | A1's "79 of 100 concepts" (coordinating-rule-A1.md line
85); C4's "78 rooms" (field-C4.md line 115); D3's "48
rooms" (notes-D3.md line 6965). |
| disagree with the governing file | 2 | See below. |
- handback-B1.md line 20 says "107 episode lines"
whose kinds none of their rooms holds.
notes-B1.mdline 3108, written at B2 with_analysis/b2_episode_kinds.py, counts 106 (line, kind) pairs over 81 lines and says the 107 is wrong. The handback was not corrected. The handback is wrong. - handback-C5-p14.md line 45 says the model's history
holds "31 lines (12 element, 12 arrow, 5 condition, 1 role, 1 claim)".
model/history.jsonlholds 45 lines of stage C5 up to pass 14's leg, C5c-11: 16 element, 21 arrow, 5 condition, 1 role and 2 claim, over 30 distinct ids. 31 matches neither count, and the handback does not say how it counted. The handback is wrong.
My checking scripts had faults; the outputs of each first run are kept:
counts_phrases.pyfirst took any comma into the number and set aside no phrase.counts_sample_check.pyfirst read a key the B3 defects lack.- It also first read the analyst's D3 rulings in place of the re-check readers' verdicts.
- It then grouped those verdicts by the readers' own spelling of the room ("LAX" and "lax", "The R" and "The_R") until the room's folder was used.
The final message of each stage is in its transcript and is read with the diary in part 5. 293 handback counts were not checked.
3. Coverage
Rooms read whole, counted from the read logs
(coverage.py), one record per read. A log names the log
that was open, not the stage the reading served.
| log | mem.py room: reads (rooms) |
mem.py forest: reads (rooms; read whole) |
case account: reads (rooms) | cite.py: reads (rooms cited) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A1 | 1,936 (705) | 205 (155; 1) | 887 (705) | 4,681 (663) |
| B1 | 1,873 (705) | 305 (110; 110) | 0 | 2,562 (455) |
| B2, B3, B4 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| C1 | 0 | 1 (1; 0) | 0 | 71 (111) |
| C2 | 343 (67) | 498 (67; 67) | 0 | 1,144 (364) |
| C3 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 36 (30) |
| C4 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 14 (12) |
| C5 | 261 (218) | 32 (32; 32) | 0 | 2,254 (431) |
| D1, D4 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| D2 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 2 (2) |
| D3 | 4 (4) | 14,054 (703; 703) | 0 | 77,047 (705) |
| D5 | 10 (8) | 0 | 0 | 6,848 (470) |
| D6 | 0 | 0 | 77 (40) | 845 (372) |
| in all | 705 | 705; 704 read whole | 705 | 705 |
- No room is unread. Every one of the 705 analysed
rooms was read by
mem.py room, bymem.py forestand through its case account. 704 forests were read whole. The one short is r/COSI. Its forest was read once, at A1, from line 11 to line 18 of 18, so the ten header lines were skipped and every line of its tree was read. - A log that reads nothing is no gap. B2, B3, B4, D1,
D2 and D4 read no room through
mem.py, because the fleets read for those stages. Readers and labelers leave no read log. Their reading is in_fleet_raw/:- B2: 6 rounds;
- B3: 1,223 entries;
- B4: 51 entries, and 55 for the OpenAI arm;
- D2v and D3v: 708 entries each;
DROPS/D/holds 706 room entries.
- Reported apart: the hostile reader at C2
(
_fleet_raw/C2/C2-reviewer) and the three readers at C5 (readers-C5/, one line each). - Refusals: the read logs hold 3 refused room reads, 1 at B1 and 2 at D5.
4. Rule 7's uses of the canvas, stage by stage
Rule 7 lets me read the canvas with every room. It asks that wherever
a canvas figure shaped a reading, a cut, a placement, a name or an
element, the record says so, with canvas among its grounds
or in its note. The fleets are never served the canvas.
canvas_uses.py counts the uses in the logs, and I read the
model's and the tree's files for canvas figures.
| stage | use in the logs | declared? |
|---|---|---|
| A1 | mem.py room with the canvas, 715 reads;
mem.py canvas, 722 calls over 705 rooms |
Yes: the made line and the reading route
(departures.jsonl line 5). |
| B1 | 1,874 room reads showed the canvas (with --size) |
The reads are allowed. No placement carries a canvas ground, and the record names nothing they shaped. |
| C2 | 22 room reads with the canvas (19 rooms); 321 with
--no-canvas |
The same as B1. |
| C5 | 218 room reads with the canvas; 43 with
--no-canvas |
The same as B1. |
| D3 | 4 room reads with the canvas | The same as B1. |
| D4 | the projection (projections-D4.jsonl, the chunk-share
tree), after the branch cuts |
Yes, and in order (part 1). The 75 D4 tier-history grounds that name the canvas all say that no canvas field was used. |
| D5 | 5 room reads with the canvas; mem.py canvas twice
(D5a-40, D5b); the canvas fields of branches-D5.jsonl (35
branches) |
Yes: survival-D5.md reads them after the record. |
| D6 | D6b read D5's survival output | Yes: notes-D6.md says the survival reading by form
comes from the record and that the canvas is not read. |
Undeclared uses found: none. No element, arrow, proposition, finding or branch carries a canvas figure. The passages that name the atlas, artwork or survival are members' own acts or the coded record:
- P12's "atlas entries" are entries members wrote;
- "artwork" in A05's support is in a member's quote;
- F-021's bound says "The canvas is not evidence (rule 7)";
- in F-023, F-027, F17 and F18, what "survives" is in the coded record or in the rooms' own judgment.
The B1, C2, C5 and D3 reads are the open question. The canvas was on the page while I placed and ruled, and the record names nothing it shaped. The logs cannot tell whether it shaped nothing or shaped something undeclared, so that is self-reported.
Where the canvas may have shaped the work without a declaration, for a reader to look:
- Elements argued mostly from what rooms kept: P12
(records), P13 (carrying on), P22 (which version is kept), A09 (the
record carried on), and the account's survival paragraph, which rests on
the
work_remainedfield (defects line 100). - Branch names that say what rooms did with their work: F09 (rooms rebuild after moving), F12 (the spine restarted on another canvas), F17 and F18 (success judged by what survives), F23 (the close scoped to the original canvas) and F32 (rooms keep after marking).
- The cuts made after the projection: the six room
forms, cut with
projections-D4.jsonland the chunk-share tree in the folder (the 82 snaps of QE1-001). Their grounds say no canvas field was used.
5. Defects named at this leg
Two lines were appended to defects.jsonl (lines 110 and
111, stage E1, leg E1b-02) by
_analysis/e1b02_defects_lines.py. They are the two handback
counts that disagree with their governing files (handback-B1.md line 20;
handback-C5-p14.md line 45). Both are the instrument's. No earlier file
is changed.
What this part cannot say
- Whether the 293 unchecked handback counts agree with their files. The sample of 36 found 2 that do not.
- Whether the earlier lines of
proposals-D6.jsonl, or of any other file, stayed as written while the file grew. A hash covers the whole file. - Whether the canvas, on the page in 2,118 of my room reads at B1, C2, C5 and D3, shaped a placement, a ruling or a name that the record does not declare.
Audit, section 1, part 3: the moves, provenance, the manifest and the figures (E1b-03)
Written at E1b-03, 27 October 2026. This part covers four items of stage E1 section 1:
- the moves;
- the provenance of D6's proposals, with PR-D6-10 against the ruling of D3a-55, and the extra legs D6a-09 to D6a-18;
- the manifest, whole;
- the fleet's figures, restated with their definitions.
Every figure comes from a script in audit-E1/ with its
output beside it, or from a reading by hand that the diary logs. The new
script is provenance_D6.py. E1a's moves.py,
manifest.py and fleet_figures.py are read
here.
1. The moves
tier_history.jsonl, 1,026 lines, by stage and
tier.
| stage | third order | fourth order | dimension | the tree |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| B1 | 252 | |||
| B2 | 140 | |||
| C1 | 1 | 28 | ||
| C2 | 6 | 40 | 9 | |
| C3 | 2 | |||
| C4 | 2 | |||
| C5 | 2 | 61 | 18 | |
| D4 | 459 (branch 35, cross-link 348, room form 43, room sub-form 33) | |||
| D6 | 6 (room form, final names) |
By move, the tier history uses seven of Grodal, Anteby and Holm's eight moves, and the run's joint label "relating or contrasting": relating 357, asking questions 255, merging 105, dropping 93, relating or contrasting 76, developing or dropping working hypotheses 76, splitting 58, contrasting 6. "Focusing on puzzles" is never named.
model/history.jsonl, 182 lines. By
stage: C2 82, C3 3, C4 3, C5 46, D3 38, D4 10. Two names are not among
the eight:
- "Stabilizing": 2 lines at D3. An appended D3 line corrects move 174's name to developing working hypotheses.
- "Sequencing": 18 lines at C2a-01 to C2a-03, where arrows were added. No line or note declares or corrects the name. This is a defect of naming. Each of these moves has its snap, so the provenance stands.
Recuts after C5.
- No third-order, fourth-order or dimension line was written after C5. The D4 and D6 lines of the tier history are the tree's: the branches, the cross-links and the room forms.
- The model history holds 48 lines after C5: 38 at D3 and 10 at D4. All 48 name a D3 cause: return lines, the re-check, or the lines they correct.
- Two of the 48 carry the held-proposal mark (P05 and A11, moves 198 and 199), and two are the reverts (move 203, J's QD4-001).
- So every model change after C5 is either a rule 11 amendment with its D3 cause or a held proposal.
The move snaps against the diary's move lines. From C2, a claim with no provenance is a defect.
| stage | diary move lines | move snaps | how compared |
|---|---|---|---|
| C2 | 47 | 47 | by count (the diary's lines carry no number) |
| C3 | 3 | 3 | by count |
| C4 | 2 | 2 | by count |
| C5 | 119 | 119 | by count |
| D3 | 27 (26 numbered) | 27 | by number: no numbered line lacks its snap; the one snap with no
line is the duplicate D3-move-181-1, declared at
D3a-53 |
| D4 | 116 | 116 | by number, one to one (moves 198 to 313) |
| D6 | 6 | 6 | by number, one to one (moves 314 to 319) |
Before C2 the snaps are numbered per move name, so they are counted only. B1 has 6 lines and 6 snaps. C1 has 214 diary move lines against 29 snaps. The 29 are the 28 fourth-order cuts and one moved theme, and they match C1's 29 tier-history lines. The other 185 lines all begin "reassigned": each moves one room's second-order theme from one placement to another.
2. D6's proposals and the legs D6a-09 to D6a-18
The eleven proposals
(proposals-D6.jsonl, provenance_D6.py). All 11
are unvalidated on base 46384686d617…, the D3
freeze, and amendments-D6.jsonl holds 0 lines.
- Evidence. The proposals name 254 concept ids, and all are in the store. They name 61 other items (fractal lines, files, room lists and one finding, F-026, which exists), and none fails to resolve.
- Record. Each proposal has at least one diary line at the leg that wrote it, D6a-01 to D6a-07.
- Provenance. No proposal lacks it.
PR-D6-10 against D3a-55. The scope rule, written in
notes-D3.md at D3a-55 before any propose line was read
(lines 1464 and 1475), put "the subs' own April Fools pranks, styling
and games (T4-001's themes)" outside the model's scope, as particulars.
PR-D6-10 proposes a process element under Host framing: the sub
administers its play. Its change field says that it "would
bring into the model what the ruling of D3a-55 put outside its scope",
and it leaves "whether the scope is widened" to a later model. So the
proposal names the ruling it would reverse, and it changes nothing: it
is a proposal, not an amendment. Its evidence holds 89 concept ids, all
in the store.
The extra legs D6a-09 to D6a-18 (the form telling, its second round and the Dutch telling). Between the close of D6a-08 and the close of D6a-18:
- Unchanged: the model, its history, the tiers, the scheme, the assignments, the branches, the cross-links, the return's ledgers, the verdicts, the findings, the propositions, the proposals, the amendments, the fractal lines, the room forms, the defects and the account.
- Changed:
departures.jsonlgained line 21 at D6a-09. Under J's ruling 1d, it records as a dated amendment a widening of D6's branch-naming rule, and it says the amendment applies backwards. The amendment states that the widened readings were in use from D6a-02, before they were written down at D6a-04. That makes it a provision acted on before it was written, and it is reported in the departures section (part 6). No branch line was rewritten. - Added:
retelling-D6.mdwas written at D6b, between the two closes.
3. The manifest, whole
run_manifest.json holds 19 entries, for stages A1, B2,
B3, B4, C2, C5 and D2, and each names a model, seeds and decoding. These
fleet figures have complete provenance:
| file | entries |
|---|---|
stability-B2.md |
8 |
fidelity-B3.md |
2 |
position-B3.md |
2 |
transmission-B4.md |
5 |
transmission-after-revision-B4.md |
5 |
review-C2.md |
1 |
account-readers-C5.md |
1 |
verdicts-D.jsonl |
1 |
Missing: the D3 re-check return
(adaptations-recheck.jsonl and each room's
verdict-D-recheck.jsonl) has no entry. Each room's
run-recheck.json names the readers' model (gpt-6.1-sol) and
a session, but no seed and no decoding. The re-check's figures, among
them the verdicts of all 705 rooms at the re-check, therefore have
partial provenance. The analyst's own figures come from scripts in
out/_analysis/ and audit-E1/, which state
their seeds. The analyst's model and effort per stage are set in
arm.json, not in the manifest.
4. The figures restated
FLEET.md section 2 defines each figure, and says what all of them
license: "readers share an architecture with you or with each other, so
they bound whether the written instrument decides, never whether it is
right." Readers in fresh contexts are instances of one model, not two
minds. None of these figures is given either of the two names FLEET.md
section 2 bars. No file of the run gives any of them those names; the
one passage near them, in notes-B3.md line 11, discusses
what a second reader per item would have bought.
| figure | FLEET.md section 2's definition | the run's value | where |
|---|---|---|---|
| fidelity | how often a reader holding only the frozen instrument lands where I did | gold fidelity 0.624 at B2; 0.645 at B3 (the whole fleet); corpus readings of gold items 0.683 | pilot_report.md, fidelity-B3.md |
| agreement | how often the readers of one item agree with each other, with Krippendorff's alpha, and Jaccard where rule 0 allowed more than one theme | B2: 0.800 and 0.756 inside the two stability rounds, 0.818 inside gold, alpha 0.784 (six readers) and 0.794 (nine); B3 corpus: 0.786, alpha 0.782 | stability-B2.md, handback-B3.md |
| gold fidelity | fidelity on gold items seeded unannounced into live batches | 0.645 at B3; its fall against B2 on the same items, -0.014 (interval -0.031 to 0.003), sits inside the floor of 0.193 | fidelity-B3.md |
| stability | the same reader arm agreeing with itself on the gold set under two rewordings of the brief | 0.807 (B2) | stability-B2.md |
| transmission | whether the written instrument carries my judgement, decomposed over items where my answer is on record (40 gold, 50 pilot) | the scheme decides 21 and 30; fails to transmit 1 and 0; the instrument does not decide 6 and 12; teaches something unintended 12 and 8 | transmission-B4.md |
| transmission after revision | how often fresh readers holding only the revised instrument reproduce the adjudicated line, which is my own line | arm 1's two readers agree at 0.781 on the uniform stratum, under the floor of 0.807; arm 1 disagrees with the settled line on 0.742 of readings of contested items and 0.400 of unanimous ones | transmission-after-revision-B4.md |
| position curve | the outcome against position within the batch | agreement +0.003 over 14 positions (interval -0.015 to +0.022; the fit would catch 0.027); the arguable rate rises +0.040 | position-B3.md |
| the verdict fleet's disagreement rate | how often the D2 readers' verdicts differ | 163 of 705 rooms with two readers (0.2312) | verdicts-D.jsonl first return
(fleet_figures.py) |
5. Defects named at this leg
Two lines were appended to defects.jsonl (lines 112 and
113, stage E1, leg E1b-03), both the instrument's:
- the 18 C2 model-history lines named "sequencing";
- the D3 re-check return with no manifest entry.
No earlier file is changed.
What this part cannot say
- Whether each of C1's 185 reassignments matches its line in the assignments ledger. They are counted by their first word, not read one by one.
- The seed and decoding of the D3 re-check readers.
- Whether the earlier lines of
proposals-D6.jsonlstayed as written while the file grew (part 2 of this section).
Audit, section 1, part 4: claims against their evidence (E1b-04)
Written at E1b-04, 27 October 2026. The table is
claims-E1.md, which the methods paragraph cites. It is
built from audit-E1/claims.py (E1a),
audit-E1/claims_returns.py (this leg) and a reading by hand
of prior.md section 3 and of the switch records in
literature-C3.md.
The propositions (9).
- 7 declare pattern and 2 declare both. Every one names a rival and a falsifier elsewhere.
- The pattern evidence is of its kind: counts with their denominators, and an order beating a null of 500 shuffles within each room, for 18 of the 20 arrows the propositions rest on.
- The words evidence holds: the arrows' 57 support quotes all resolve, and the 8 findings named all resolve.
- N07 declares both, but its pattern half is not established. A11 does not beat its null, and A12 has no order count. N07 says so, being marked theorised and thin. It rests on read replies and on the return's 691 accepted instantiations of A12, so it is half-validated, not validated with the other kind's evidence.
- No proposition is validated with the other kind's evidence.
The branches (35).
- Each rests on its shared key for membership and on its account's
cited concepts (38 to 89 each) for what it is, so each is validated by
both kinds, as
prior.mdsection 3 asks of forms. - 2 are forms with a supported warrant (F09, F32) and 33 are groupings with the warrant unresolved.
- Local validation is established for none.
prior.md section 3, declared against done.
- The population pattern was to be supported at held size and read against section 4's brackets. No arrow's order test was run at held size. Only A20 is read inside a bracket, before hour 73.
- This is the one gap between what was declared and what was done, and
it is in
defects.jsonl(line 114, the instrument's). - The forms rest on both kinds, as declared.
- The particular histories rest on the room models and the case accounts. The element-reach half of the local measure is 4,759 of 5,380 themes with a coordinating turn (88.46 per cent). The other half was not computed, so local validation is not established.
The switch records (2), both against the ledger.
- Leg 1 records none, and none happened: F-006 was bounded by another count.
- Leg 2 moved the concept's name to the literature's, and moved its form claim from exemplars to a pattern across rooms (F-014). Its function claim failed (F-015). It superseded no finding, as it says.
What this part cannot say
- Whether the arrows' order would hold at held size. The test was declared and not run.
- Whether the order of A07 to A09 is the clock's, as N04's rival says. Their counts are not read against the hour-73 bracket.
Audit, section 1, part 5: the diary, the probes and the unplaced (E1b-05)
Written at E1b-05, 27 October 2026. This part covers three items of
stage E1 section 1: the diary against the transcript, the recall probes
(whose full tables are in probes-E1.md), and the unplaced,
read. The new scripts are diary_tool_lines.py,
probes_notes.py and unplaced_kinds.py. E1a's
diary_transcript.py, probes_score.py and
unplaced.py are read here.
1. The diary against the transcript
diary_transcript.py (E1a) drew 17 legs by seed
(cd472a6087a223d4): one per stage, and one more among the
extra legs D6a-09 to D6a-18. They are A1b-16, B1b-30-p2, B2b-r1, B3a-p2,
B4a-05, C1a-07, C2a-02, C3a, C4a, C5c-02-p2, D1a, D2a, D3a-15, D4a-03,
D5a-31, D6a-10 and D6a-17. Every drawn leg has its transcript.
Of their 905 diary lines, 392 are found word for word in the leg's transcript. The other 513 are lines a tool writes from its own arguments ("placed", "opened", moves, asks, adjudication notes), so their words are not the command typed. Each was read against the tool calls of its leg:
| how it is borne out | lines |
|---|---|
a tool call or output within ten minutes holds the line's ids
(diary_tool_lines.py) |
185 |
a row of the files that B1b-30-p2's
b1_multiplace_write4.py runs read
(b1_multiplace_b1b30.tsv,
b1_multiplace_b1b30p2.tsv) |
282 |
a single placement in that leg's b1_place.py commands
( t07=T3-043 and the like), all 19 matched |
19 |
the 27 move lines of C5c-02-p2, written in 41 seconds by
c5c2_decl_amend.py from c5c2_decl_spec.json,
both written and dry-run in the transcript a minute before |
27 |
All 905 diary lines are borne out by the transcript, and no entry is a defect. The loosest test is the one for the 282 TSV rows. It shows each row in a file the leg's script read, not a time-matched call for each line.
2. The recall probes
probes-E1.md holds the tables. The figures:
- 300 answer files. As filed,
probe.pycould not read 283 of them, which are written in bold markdown, so goal is right 17 times and missing 283 times. - Re-read by
probe.py's own rules against the expected values stored at each close:- goal: right 298, wrong 2;
- open: right 26, wrong 135;
- rooms: right 48, wrong 125;
- changed: right 50, wrong 13;
- next: right 11, wrong 12.
- n/a: 780 answers, apart and never counted as recall.
- The wrong answers: 269 are notes, because the head, the diary or the question files held the answer at the close. 18 are defects, because none did: the rooms of 13 B1 legs and one D5 leg, and the changed ids of D4a-06, D4a-07, D4a-08 and D6a-01.
- A second count for rooms. The declared test read rooms in the leg's own diary lines, and gave 101 defects on rooms. But the harness's expected rooms are the last three on record, which repeat across legs that opened none. Read over the stage's diary up to the close, 14 of those remain defects. Both counts are on file.
3. The unplaced, read
| what | count | what each was |
|---|---|---|
| second-order themes with no placement | 151 of 7,844, holding 407 concepts | the sub's own April Fools play 42 (165 concepts); talk about the
event with no organizing act, such as asking what an effort is,
admiring, reacting or arguing about the canvas, 72 (186); lost posts
whose body is gone, or of which only a title or marker is left, 18 (24,
all of them in unplaced-B1.jsonl); labels that name an act,
19 (32) |
| concepts unreachable from any theme | 0 | every concept has its theme |
| third-order themes no fourth-order theme took | 2 | T3-017, "carrying on ordinary sub talk" (334 themes placed), outside the model's scope by design (the scope rule written at D3a-55); T3-133, "recovering a hacked sub" (1 theme, rare tier), a host sub's act that could have sat with Boundary work |
| fourth-order themes no dimension gathered | 0 |
The kinds come from a keyword rule declared in
unplaced_kinds.py and were then read.
Whether any should have been a member. Of the 19 labels that name an act, 10 name one the scheme holds, and they should have been placed:
- germany/t19, a build report;
- h3h3productions/t27, welcoming people into the drawing;
- h3h3productions/t30, arguing over duplicate logo proposals;
- hungary/t05, a call to turn a neighbour's flag;
- linux/t03, writing a bot;
- oman/t06, telling a late helper the work was done;
- opticgaming/t12, mourning the lost work;
- orderofthebluecorner/t02, planning the sign;
- rainbowgrid/t06, taking the grid to other canvases;
- romania/t18, the flag's design.
Six of the ten hold one concept each. The other nine of the 19 are jokes, ordinary sub talk or a bare message. The other 132 unplaced themes are rightly outside: play, talk about the event, or posts with nothing left to read.
4. Defects named at this leg
Two lines were appended to defects.jsonl (lines 115 and
116, stage E1, leg E1b-05), both the instrument's:
- the 18 probe misses that no record answered;
- the 10 unplaced themes that should have been placed (sure false, a reading of short labels).
No earlier file is changed.
What this part cannot say
- Whether each of the 282 TSV-borne diary lines was written at the moment of its row's run. The check matches the row, not the second.
- Whether the 10 themes would change any count of the model. Each holds one to five concepts, and none was placed.
Audit, section 2: the ledgers, the stories, what a reader was given (E1b-06)
Written at E1b-06, 27 October 2026. This part covers stage E1 section
2. Its script is audit-E1/ledgers_stories.py, with its rule
in its docstring and its output beside it. The readings by hand are
logged in the diary.
1. The ledgers, complete
findings.jsonl.
- 45 lines over 27 findings: 32 lines say standing and 13 say bounded. By each finding's last line, 17 stand and 10 are bounded.
- The status changes, each the stage of the line that changed it, all from standing to bounded: F-001 at B2; F-002 and F-010 at C2; F-006 at C3; F-014 and F-018 at C5. No finding was withdrawn.
- The warrant, by each finding's last line: read 13, inferred 14.
- No statable
refuted_by: 8 findings, F-002 to F-007, F-009 and F-012.
Every other ledger.
- 150 jsonl files were counted, each with its lines now. The table is
in
ledgers_stories.json. - A hash shows whether a file moved, not which line, so "no line edited after writing" can be shown only in part: through the file's size in each snap that lists it. A size that falls shows an edit or a cut; a size that rises proves nothing.
- The append-only ledgers never shrink: the adjudications, both histories, findings, verdicts, defects, departures and asks.
- Nine files do shrink:
- State files rewritten by design, whose changes the
histories hold:
model/elements.jsonl(13 times),fourth/fourth.jsonl(7),dimensions.jsonl(4),model/arrows.jsonl(3),propositions.jsonl(2) andscheme_final.jsonl(1). author_items.jsonlandgold_items.jsonl, once each, at B2's pilot rerun (B2a-r3 to B2a-r3-p2), before B3 used them.fractal-D6.jsonl, once, at D6a-02. Its 42 form lines moved tofractal-forms-D6.jsonlunder departure line 20. The two were compared equal, with one correction made on its own line, and the move is declared innotes-D6.md.
- State files rewritten by design, whose changes the
histories hold:
New kinds per hundred themes, at the census: 197 kinds over 7,844 second-order themes, which is 2.51.
2. The stories
| pass | rooms | told | told with residue | not told |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 20 | 0 | 20 | 0 |
| 2 | 32 | 14 | 18 | 0 |
| 3 | 32 | 16 | 16 | 0 |
| 4 | 32 | 11 | 21 | 0 |
| 5 | 35 | 16 | 19 | 0 |
- Passes and rooms. Five passes ran
(
saturation.jsonl), and the model's story rests on pass 5. Rooms read against a story: 151 in all, 67 distinct. - The last story. It failed to tell no room outright, and told 19 of its 35 rooms only in part.
- What the reading behind the stories bought. Of the 638 rooms no story was read against, the first return gives one that does not compose. None of the 67 read against a story is among those that do not compose. Most of each group composes with residue (346 of the 638; 41 of the 67, by a single verdict).
- Loops. None passed the one-room test, and the model grounds no loop.
- The account's passes.
account_passes.jsonlholds 15, so the account's loop ran.
3. What a reader was given
| the five things | held? |
|---|---|
| the data-structure view's leftmost column holds material, and one row walks from what somebody typed to a dimension | Held. The columns run from room, concept id and the member's words to the dimension, in one file. |
structure.md explains every fourth-order theme with its
question, what falls outside, and quotes carrying room, author, hour and
concept id, with why the set expresses it |
Held. Every theme has its sections and five quotes
(140 why_this_one lines). Whether any five make one point
was not read. |
| the residue explained, not listed, beside C3's remainder | Not held. account.md says the last
story told 19 of its 35 rooms only in part, and lists those parts rather
than explaining them. C3's remainder is 19 themes. |
account.md at one to two pages |
Not held. It is 3,326 words. |
| every quote dated and attributed | Not held, in part. 37 cited quotes; 34 carry an hour and 3 do not. |
The rooms the account names, against
branches.jsonl. The account names 22 rooms, and 17
of them are in a branch. The five in no branch are r/TeamYellowPlace,
r/aceattorney, r/anarcho_capitalism, r/cardinals and r/monsterhunter.
r/monsterhunter is the account's room for the return's claim.
4. The departures, the defects, the forks, rule 9
The departures, 21 lines (A1 9, D4 7, D5 2, D6 3).
- Cost. Three state what following the provision would have cost, in their own field. Eighteen do not.
- Acted on before written: two.
- Line 5, A1's reading route, says it was logged late, at A1c.
- Line 21, D6's widened branch-naming rule, was in use from D6a-02, before it was stated at D6a-04 and written at D6a-09 under J's ruling 1d.
- Both are defects.
The defects, 119 lines in defects.jsonl
(A1 8, B3 55, D5 38, E1 18). They were sorted by a keyword rule, and the
E1 lines by my own labels.
- The material's: A1 6, D5 9, E1 2. These concern the store, the packages and the coders' case accounts.
- The instrument's: the rest. Among them are the B3
fleet's record slips, the D5 lines on the
work_remainedfield (A1's own) and E1's lines on my outputs. - One E1 line is provenance: J's reading rule.
- Still open from D5: lines 100 and 101.
The forks. No comparison file arrived
(fork_comparison-C2.json and
fork_comparison-D.json are absent). So the spread of the
fourth-order partition across forks at C2, and of the verdicts at D2, is
none: there is nothing to compare.
Rule 9.
- What was handed over: the field's model handed over
P21, P22 and A21 at C4a (
origin: from-field). None of the three was in the model before. - Replicated, not discovered: D3 ruled each standing, shown in the rooms' own lines, so they are reported as replicated.
- Nothing else: no other finding about the corpus was handed over by a stage file or the operator. J's words on national content and on reading are instructions, not findings.
- Still to come:
EXPECTATIONS.jsonl, the operator's sealed expectations, is scored in the next section.
5. Defects named at this leg
Three lines were appended to defects.jsonl (lines 117 to
119, stage E1, leg E1b-06), all the instrument's:
- the account as a reader was given it;
- the 18 departures with no stated cost;
- the two departures acted on before they were written.
What this part cannot say
- Whether any line of an append-only ledger was edited in place without changing its size, or with a larger replacement. A hash or a size cannot show it.
- Whether any of
structure.md's fourth-order themes is given five quotes that make one point. - What following each of the 18 uncosted departures would have cost.
Audit, section 3: composition at each level, expectations and contrasts (E1b-07)
Written at E1b-07, 27 October 2026. The figures come from
audit-E1/expectations.py and E1a's
element_reach.py, each with its output beside it. The
expectations and the field's entries are tabled in
expectations-E1.md.
1. The composition diagnostics, recomputed
Fixed-global verdicts, ruled (both readers agreeing, or the analyst's D3 ruling on a split):
| return | model | composes | composes with residue | cannot tell | does not compose |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| first | e15f9647… (C5, pass 15) | 201 | 489 | 14 | 1 |
| re-check | 46384686… (D3, the freeze) | 630 | 56 | 19 | 0 |
The readers agreed on 542 rooms at the first return and split on 163. At the re-check they agreed on 544 and split on 161.
Particulars and corrections met twice.
- Particulars: 2,749 lines were ruled particular, in 545 rooms.
- Distinct shared changes: 223, counting one op on one element accepted in two or more rooms. These are the candidates for shared branches, not failures.
- Accepted changes met in one room only: 20.
Limited branching or unbounded revision (prior.md section 3).
- In A1's seeded reading order, the distinct shared changes number 184 after the first third of the rooms (235), 211 after two thirds and 223 at the end.
- The curve flattens over the last third, which is section 3's sign of limited branching.
- How many rooms carry a particular touching the model's top elements was not counted at this leg.
Local validation, apart.
- The element-reach half of section 3's measure was computed at E1a: 4,759 of 5,380 second-order themes that hold a coordinating turn are reached by a standing element (88.46 per cent), and 297 of the 696 rooms with a turn are reached in full.
- The other half, a validated adaptation or a theme listed as unresolved with its reason, was not computed.
- Local validation is not established.
Unresolved evidence, apart: 14 rooms could not be
told at the first return and 19 at the re-check. 944 expectations had no
line to test them (expectations-E1.md).
Clusters and distinct global changes, against prior.md section 3.
- The 223 shared changes gather into 35 branches, which overlap as facets: 476 rooms sit in a branch and 229 in none. Two branches pass the form test (F09, F32); 33 are groupings.
- Six room forms were cut from changes and codes at D4a-05 to D4a-08, by J's ruling.
- A branch's members share a key and the words of their records. A stated condition explains its members jointly only in the two forms.
2. Whether composition succeeded, failed or remains uncertain
At the population level, the model composes in the return's terms.
- The re-check finds the frozen model composing in 630 of 705 rooms, and in 56 more with residue. No room fails to compose.
- The expectations score 0.924, in-sample.
- The mechanism the composite rests on is the spine, start, call,
build and keep, whose order counts beat their nulls; the propositions
are tabled in
claims-E1.md.
Below it, the population compiles rather than composes, in Kozlowski and Klein's sense: different rooms contribute different configurations. The facets, the two forms, the six room forms and the particulars in 545 rooms all show it. That word describes how the levels emerge. It is not a success grade.
At the leaf, composition remains uncertain.
- Local validation is not established.
- The reconstruction sample, the test at the leaf, has not yet been run; it comes at E1c and E1d.
- The
composition_statusline is written inaudit-E1.mdafter that check. Until then, the stated level, scope and evidence are these: the population level is supported in the return's own terms; the leaf is unresolved. - The original fixed-global verdicts above are kept apart from the current adapted-local status and from shared-branch adequacy, as the stage asks.
3. prior.md section 2's expectations, and stage A1's three sentences
| expectation | held? | against |
|---|---|---|
| (operator's) continuity at the top, drops at the bottom, a model all the way down | In part. The top holds at the re-check. The branches state mostly restrictions, and the levels go down to room forms, branches and particulars. | the verdicts, branches-D5.jsonl |
| becoming able to act rests on a find more than on persuasion; a call alone often draws nothing | In part. The start comes before the call in the spine. Most calls get no written reply. | account.md, the spine's arrows |
| what to act on is settled before the room speaks, by the canvas, a host or one member's start; votes are rare and late | In part. Decided order is rare in the coding but often in the return (C01 taken up where absence was expected in 81 rooms). A template does not settle the design for good (the A11 proposal held). | expectations-E1.md, claims-E1.md |
| loss of the spot sends a room back; then it moves, shrinks, joins or stops | Held, thin. A10, on 21 rooms. F09: rooms rebuild after moving. | claims-E1.md |
| what follows organizing is talk about it, and the end clusters near hour 73 | Held. The close: celebration, record and carrying on. | the propositions, waterfall-D5.md |
| a handful of forms, differing in where work is coordinated and on whose terms the room holds its space; the national rooms not one form | In part. Six room forms, two of them (behind the thread; moving for the spot) close to the expected kinds. The national rooms spread across forms (the Dutch telling of D6). The branches are facets, not forms. | room-forms-names.md |
| at the top the population compiles; limited branching for deals and venues; particulars for rooms carried by one member | Held for compilation and limited branching. Particulars are far wider than expected: 545 rooms. | this section |
Stage A1's three sentences
(notes-A1.md, "Three sentences on what I expect"), against
the structure:
- One burst of calls, coordinates and reports, then a long tail of defence and looking back, stopping near hour 73. Held. The dimensions of coordination, upkeep and imprinting carry it.
- Fights with canvas neighbours more than distant rivals; deals about borders and space, in the thread or sent to Discord. Held in part. Border terms and the chat carry it, but a tie from before the canvas can name the rival (C02, untested for order).
- The goal settled in the first hours by one person's call, and changed only under a neighbour's pressure or a loss, rarely by argument inside the room. Not held. Form C, "the design reopened" (96 defining rooms), and the return's 627 accepted restrict lines on A11 show the design argued and reopened inside rooms.
4. The onset contrast
The late side of every arrow holds 0 to 15 rooms, so by rule 6 no gap
is read. A1's four expectations on onset are untested by these counts,
as a boundary condition the record could not test.
expectations-E1.md gives the figures.
What this part cannot say
- Whether the model composes at the leaf. That is the reconstruction's test (E1c, E1d).
- How many rooms carry a particular that touches the model's top elements.
- Whether any expectation scored here would hold out of sample. None was held out.
Audit, section 4: the reconstruction sample (E1c, E1d)
Written at E1d, 28 October 2026. The figures come from
audit-E1/reconstruction_validate.py,
audit-E1/reconstruction_causes.py and
audit-E1/reconstruction_tables.py, each with its rule in
its docstring and its output beside it. The return, one line per room,
is reconstruction-E1.jsonl.
1. The build and the dispatch
- The sample (E1c). Thirty rooms were drawn by seed
from the ledgers before any was opened
(
audit-E1/reconstruction_draw.py;reconstruction-sample-E1.jsonl). By the first return's ruled verdict: does-not-compose 1, cannot-tell 2, composes 8, composes-with-residue 19. They fall in 20 branches, one room each, and 10 rooms sit in no branch.notes-E1.mdnames them. - The packets. Each holds the skeleton from
rebuild.pyat the frozen model 46384686…, the coder'scase.mdand the room's second-order themes. They run from 29,610 to 47,848 bytes.RETURN-E1.mdasks the reader to score each claim ofcase.mdas accounted yes, partly, no or unresolved, with the element or arrow id. - The dispatch, outside my session, ran from 22:29Z
to 22:40Z on 27 October. One reader per room,
deepseek/deepseek-v4.1-flash called directly, cost 1.728235 USD for
916,006 input and 2,267,673 output tokens
(
_fleet_raw/E1/DONE). - The defect that stopped it. fleet.py judged 0
returns valid and all 30 rooms exhausted after three attempts each.
Every packet ends by asking the reader to return its lines "and then the
end marker the return specification names".
RETURN-E1.md, which I wrote at E1c, names no marker. So each reader ended with a marker of its own: END OF PACKET in 22 rooms, END OF RETURN in 6, and two other forms in 1 room each. That last line is not JSON, and fleet.py rejected the whole return (defects.jsonlline 121). At the PI's instruction there was no re-dispatch.
2. The returns validated
- The rule, written before the run: for each room, the newest raw file; one final line that is not JSON is dropped and recorded; any other line that is not JSON makes the return invalid; the claim lines carry the room and one of the four values; the summary's counts equal the claim lines.
- The result. In all 30 rooms the newest raw file is the third attempt, by modification time and by attempt number alike. Its one final line is a marker, and it was dropped. Every other line parses. The summary's counts equal the claim lines in all 30, and every summary states the model 46384686d617.
- 25 rooms are valid under the rule as first written.
The readers of picturegame, python, ReBoot, tagpro and Madeon wrote the
room as "r/" with its name on every line. The packets name each room
that way, and
RETURN-E1.mddoes not say which form it wants (defects.jsonlline 122). An amendment made after the first run, and dated in the script, reads that form as the room. Under it, all 30 are valid. The first output is kept (reconstruction_validate.superseded-1.json), and both counts are reported.
3. Fidelity, by verdict and by branch
Fidelity, as RETURN-E1.md defines it, is yes plus half
of partly, over yes, partly and no. Unresolved claims are reported apart
and are never failures. A no whose reason begins "contradicts" is
counted as contradicted.
Fidelity by verdict (the first return's ruled fixed-global verdict, model e15f9647…)
| verdict | rooms | mean fidelity | claims | yes | partly | no | unresolved | contradicted |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| composes | 8 | 0.911 | 537 | 474 | 29 | 31 | 3 | 0 |
| composes-with-residue | 19 | 0.875 | 1,161 | 965 | 112 | 73 | 11 | 0 |
| cannot-tell | 2 | 0.770 | 40 | 25 | 10 | 4 | 1 | 0 |
| does-not-compose | 1 | 0.680 | 50 | 26 | 16 | 8 | 0 | 0 |
| all | 30 | 0.871 | 1,788 | 1,490 | 167 | 116 | 15 | 0 |
- The mean is 0.871 over the 30 rooms, and 0.884 over the 25 valid under the first rule. The range is 0.637 (simonfraser) to 0.975 (ReBoot), and the median is 0.910.
- No claim is contradicted. 15 of 1,788 claims are unresolved, 8 of them in mls.
- By the first return's verdict, mean fidelity falls in the verdicts' own order, from 0.911 (composes) to 0.680 (does-not-compose). The two lower strata hold 2 rooms and 1, so this is an observation, not a test.
Fidelity by branch (the room's most specific branch; each sampled branch holds one room)
| branch | room | verdict | fidelity | claims | yes | partly | no | unresolved |

| F01 | ethoslab | composes | 0.932 | 81 | 74 | 3 | 4 | 0 |

| none, together | 10 rooms | 0.860 (mean) | 526 | 444 | 43 | 37 | 2 |
- Each sampled branch holds one room, so a branch's figure is one room's. F30 (simonfraser) is the lowest and F02 (thenetherlands) the highest. The 10 rooms in no branch average 0.860.
What the figure licenses. Like the fleet figures of FLEET.md section 2, fidelity bounds whether the written skeleton decides a reader's scoring, not whether the skeleton is right. Each room had one reader, an instance of one model. The test is in-sample: the skeleton was built from the room's own return lines, and the packet held the room's own themes. SCHEMA-adaptations.md section 8 calls it "an in-sample preservation and composition check, not independent truth estimation".
4. The causes of a low score, separated
- The rule, written before any line was read
(
audit-E1/reconstruction_causes.py). A low score is fidelity below 0.8. That takes 7 rooms: simonfraser, Madeon, picturegame, slovenia, quq, sakartvelo and gameboy. I read every no, partly and unresolved line in them (120), and every no line in the other 23 rooms (80), so that a cause found in the low rooms can be set beside the rest. I gave each line one cause, from the claim, the reader's reason, the packet's skeleton and the room's themes (audit-E1/reconstruction_causes.tsv). After the first page, and before any cause was written, I wrote down how two of the causes would be read; the script's docstring holds it. - The causes. Unsupported: the coder's claim goes past the room's record. Evidence: the record cannot show it, or the skeleton's line on it is absent or not testable. Particular: a fact of the room that the coder's account states and no skeleton line carries. Shared: the model's element does not hold what the room did, or the model has no element for a kind of act that is not one room's alone. Reader: the reader's no or partly is mistaken, or the line is not a claim of the account.
| cause | the 7 rooms below 0.8 (no, partly, unresolved) | the other 23 rooms (no lines) | all |
|---|---|---|---|
| particular | 102 | 65 | 167 |
| evidence | 7 | 6 | 13 |
| reader | 10 | 2 | 12 |
| shared | 0 | 7 | 7 |
| unresolved | 1 | 0 | 1 |
| unsupported | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| all | 120 | 80 | 200 |
Inside particular: detail 44; off the canvas 42; a room named 23; an interval 19; an order 15; a layer 12; the coder's synthesis 6; a line the room proposed 6.
Fidelity lost in each room below 0.8, by cause (a no line costs 1 and a partly line 0.5, over yes, partly and no)
| room | fidelity | particular | evidence | reader | unresolved |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| simonfraser | 0.637 | 0.353 | 0.010 | 0.000 | 0.000 |
| Madeon | 0.662 | 0.225 | 0.000 | 0.112 | 0.000 |
| picturegame | 0.680 | 0.280 | 0.000 | 0.040 | 0.000 |
| slovenia | 0.735 | 0.265 | 0.000 | 0.000 | 0.000 |
| quq | 0.750 | 0.200 | 0.025 | 0.025 | 0.000 |
| sakartvelo | 0.789 | 0.079 | 0.105 | 0.026 | 0.000 |
| gameboy | 0.797 | 0.176 | 0.027 | 0.000 | 0.000 |
What each cause holds.
- Particulars, 167 of the 200 lines. The skeleton
carries acts by element. It does not carry the room's other business,
its counterparts by name, its clock, or the layer that carried an act.
- Off the canvas (42): the room's ordinary traffic before, beside and after the event. Examples are picturegame's numbered game relay, ucf's campus questions, Madeon's trade in concert recordings and gameboy's hardware talk. The coder's account covers the room's whole window; the model covers its organizing for the canvas.
- Details, rooms named, intervals, orders and layers: a counterpart named, a gap the coder measured to the second, which of two threads came first, and whether posts or comments carried an act. simonfraser and slovenia lose most of their fidelity here.
- Synthesis and proposed lines: the coder's reading of the room as a whole, and lines the room proposed at the return that the model did not take, such as Madeon's real concert recordings.
- Evidence, 13 lines. The skeleton's line on the act is absent or not testable in the room (P04, P10, P12, P23, P27, P28, P32 and P33, and the arrow A17). In sakartvelo, a room with 5 concepts, evidence carries 0.105 of the 0.211 the room lost.
- Reader, 12 lines. None is a fault of the skeleton.
The readers of Madeon and quq scored the room's theme list as claims (5
lines). Other readers scored sentences about the coder's evidence, which
RETURN-E1.mdsays are not claims (7 lines). - Shared, 7 lines: two facts in two rooms. In mamamoo, members placed pixels at random, without a plan (4 lines of one fact), and the model has no element for placing that organizes nothing. In hyperlightdrifter, a member warned that a rival might attack (3 lines of one fact); P05 holds watching and defence under attack, not the warning. Each is a kind of act, not one room's alone, and so a candidate for a shared change. Neither was tested beyond its room.
- Unsupported, none found. I took the coder's claims as the packet gives them and did not test them against the raw record. That test is section 1's: the handler's check found 0.6573 of the case accounts' quoted strings in the room's corpus. Three of the thirty were in its sample (ethoslab, PinkUnion and tagpro), and every quoted string of their accounts was found (15, 13 and 7).
So no low score here is a failure of the global model. The low scores come from what the skeleton is not built to carry, from particulars the return did not record, from evidence the record lacks, and from readers who scored lines that are not claims. 7 of the 200 lines point at the shared account, and no line contradicts it.
5. What this part cannot say
- Whether a second reader, or a reader of another model, would score the same. Each room had one reader.
- Anything out of sample.
- The causes of the 84 partly lines in the 23 rooms at or above 0.8. I did not read them.
- A branch's fidelity beyond its one sampled room.
- Whether anyone else would give the same causes. They are one analyst's reading, and nobody checked it.
Audit, section 5: versioned judgments, side by side (E1d)
Written at E1d, 28 October 2026. The figures come from
audit-E1/versioned_judgments.py, with its rule in its
docstring and its output beside it.
audit-E1/reconstruction_tables.py prints the table.
1. The four judgments and their versions
- The original fixed-global verdict, from
verdicts-D.jsonl: the first return, served at pass 15 (model e15f9647…), ruled where the readers split. Over the population: composes 201, composes with residue 489, cannot tell 14, does not compose 1 (section 3). - The fixed-global verdict at the re-check, at the frozen model 46384686…: 630, 56, 19 and 0.
- The current adapted-local status, from the
effective return manifest (
adaptation-returns.jsonl, read throughtools/adaptation_ledger.py). Every one of the 705 rooms has phase recheck, model 46384686…, local status unresolved and grade composes-with-residue. The status is the same in every room, so it cannot set one room against another. Local validation is not established. - Shared-branch adequacy, from
branches-D5.jsonl: 33 of the 35 branches have shared status unresolved, and F09 and F32 have supported. Every branch line names the global model e15f9647… and the local model 46384686…. Neither supported branch is in the sample. - The reconstruction: fidelity and unresolved claims (section 4), at 46384686…, the version every reader's summary states.

2. Where the judgments disagree
- The rule, written before the run: a room disagrees where its first-return and re-check verdicts differ, or where it composes at the first return with fidelity below the thirty's median (0.910), or cannot be told or does not compose with fidelity at or above it. The manifest and the branch status mark no room, since they are the same across the sample, and the rule does not use them.
- 25 of the 30 disagree. 23 changed verdict at the re-check: 18 from composes-with-residue to composes, 2 from cannot-tell to composes, and one each from does-not-compose to composes-with-residue (picturegame), from composes to composes-with-residue (python) and from composes to cannot-tell (ReBoot). ucf and penguins compose with fidelity below the median, and so does python.
- ReBoot, which the re-check could not tell, has the highest fidelity of the thirty, 0.975 over 20 claims. It is outside the seeded sample and was not examined.
3. The seeded sample, examined with the case evidence
The seeded five are sakartvelo, picturegame, Goodboye, dwarffortress and necrodancer. In all five the verdict changed at the re-check. For each I read the verdict lines at both returns, and the case account and the skeleton in its packet.
- sakartvelo (no branch; cannot-tell, then composes; 0.789). Both first readers could not tell: the room holds 5 concepts, below the floor of 10. At the re-check, one reader found it composing under P27 and P31, the candidates for choosing where to start and for arguing over an occupied spot, and one still could not tell; I ruled that it composes. The case account describes a late, small exchange over where to start a Georgian flag. The skeleton accounts for 13 of its 19 claims, and half the fidelity lost is evidence: P04 and P12 are not testable in the room. Both judgments hold. The revised model states what the room did, and the record shows little. The verdict moved with the model, which gained two candidates, not with new evidence about the room. The concept count explains why the first return could not tell. It does not say whether the model fits.
- picturegame (F25; does-not-compose, then composes-with-residue; 0.680). Both first readers found a room whose themes are a game of sound rounds, picture hints and emoji proposals, not a canvas mark. Both re-check readers found it composing with residue under K01, P23 and P24, with the sound round and the emoji proposals as the residue. The case account says that the room's sustained conduct was its own April Fools round and its ordinary numbered relay, and that the canvas appears in one emoji proposal. Of its 24 lines read, 8 are the relay and 4 are which layer carried the proposal. The reconstruction agrees with the first return in substance: the skeleton holds the room's few canvas acts and not its main business. The change of verdict follows the model's wider frame and its candidates, not more organizing for the canvas.
- Goodboye (no branch; composes-with-residue, then composes; 0.910). Both first readers named residue: a guest asking the host's permission to build above its mark, and the mark bringing newcomers back; one added a leader's commands. Both re-check readers found it composing, and named no element for that residue. The skeleton accounts for 69 of 78 claims. Its 5 no lines are two gaps, two orders and ordinary dog sharing, all particulars. The re-check and the reconstruction agree.
- dwarffortress (F16; composes-with-residue, then composes; 0.910). The readers split at both returns. At the first, I ruled residue: decisions taken in a chat, and canvas events turned into the game's stories. At the re-check, one reader kept the chat as residue because P23 is a candidate with no arrows, and I ruled that it composes, since P23 states the chat. The reconstruction reader scored all 6 claims it placed on P23 as accounted. Its 6 no lines are ordinary game talk (3), P10 not testable (2) and a visitor from another room (1). The reconstruction agrees with the ruling. The readers' split is over whether a candidate without arrows composes.
- necrodancer (F28; composes-with-residue, then composes; 0.917). The readers split at both returns. At the re-check I ruled that the residue of my first ruling, a visitor answered and editing sent to a chat, is now P25 and P23, and that the move ahead of a neighbour's announced taskbar is P27. The one no line of the reconstruction is the answer to a visitor's criticism of the game's music (claim 26). The room's line on P25 holds a member explaining the game's genre to a passer-by [necrodancer/c0069], not that answer. The judgments differ in grain. My ruling read the theme t08 as P25 and named c0067. The reconstruction reads the claim, and the room's line on P25 cites another concept.
What the five show. In all five the verdict moved with the model at D3, as candidates entered, and not with new evidence about the room. The reconstruction agrees with the re-check where the room's record is mostly its work for the canvas (Goodboye, dwarffortress and necrodancer, 0.910 to 0.917). It agrees with the first return's doubt where the record is small or lies mostly off the canvas (sakartvelo and picturegame).
4. What this part cannot say
- Room by room, whether the local adaptations hold. The adapted-local status is the same in all 705 rooms, so it says nothing about any one of them.
- Whether a shared branch is adequate for its sampled room. Every sampled branch is unresolved.
- Why the 20 disagreeing rooms outside the seeded five disagree. I did not examine them.
The composition result (E1d)
Written at E1d, 28 October 2026, after the reconstruction's check. It
reads the audit's sections 3, 4 and 5 against prior.md
section 3, the composition criteria fixed before the scheme.
composition_status: unresolved
- Level. The method question's, read at each of
prior.mdsection 3's three levels. At the population level, composition is supported. At the level of the forms and subforms, the population compiles rather than composes, in Kozlowski and Klein's sense, and shared adequacy is met by 2 of 35 branches. At the leaf, the shared account holds in the reconstruction, but local adequacy is not established. - Scope. The frozen model 46384686…, without the two held proposals, in-sample throughout. The population level covers the 705 rooms of the re-check, in the return's own terms. The leaf covers the 30 rooms of the reconstruction, each scored once by one reader of one model. Nothing here was held out.
- Why the whole is unresolved.
prior.mdsection 3 makes two criteria the grounds: local adequacy, each room accounted for by the model plus validated adaptations, and shared adequacy, clusters that explain their members jointly through a stated condition. Neither is established. The validated half of the local measure was not computed, and the effective manifest gives every room local status unresolved. 33 of the 35 branches have shared status unresolved. The same section forbids calling exact local fit evidence of global composition by itself, so the reconstruction's fidelity cannot settle the whole. None of the failure conditions is met either: no adequately observed room needs only unrelated particulars, and no claim of the model meets contrary validated local evidence. An insufficient record yields uncertainty, not demonstrated failure.
The evidence, level by level.
- The population: supported. At the re-check the
frozen model composes in 630 of 705 rooms and with residue in 56, and in
none does it fail to compose. The expectations score 0.924, in-sample.
The mechanism is the spine: a member starts a mark, the room calls for
hands, builds and keeps it, and keeping holds the known form. Its order
counts beat their nulls (
claims-E1.md). The case that best supports it is day9, and the case that most threatens it is thebluecorner, where a faith, not the work, decides whom the room fights. - The forms and subforms: compiled, unresolved. The 223 distinct shared changes gather into 35 branches that overlap as facets, and the curve of distinct changes flattens over the last third of the seeded order, which is the section's sign of limited branching. Only F09 (rooms rebuild after moving) and F32 (rooms keep after marking) explain their members jointly. The share of rooms carrying a particular that touches the model's top elements was not counted.
- The leaf: the shared account holds; local adequacy is not
established. The skeleton, the global model with each room's
effective lines, accounts for the coder's account with fidelity 0.871
(0.637 to 0.975) over 1,788 claims. No claim contradicts it. Of the 200
lines read for the causes of a loss, 167 are particulars the skeleton
does not carry, 13 are evidence the record lacks, 12 are readers'
errors, and 7 point at the shared account (two facts, in mamamoo and
hyperlightdrifter). The leaf's limit is the room's own history: its
counterparts by name, its intervals and orders, and its business off the
canvas.
prior.mdsection 3 rests a particular history on a dated sequence of the room's own turns that the model's elements reach. The elements reach the acts, and the skeleton does not carry their dating.
Kept apart, as the stage asks. The original fixed-global verdicts (201, 489, 14 and 1 at the first return, model e15f9647…) stand beside the re-check's (630, 56, 19 and 0, model 46384686…), the current adapted-local status (unresolved and composes-with-residue in all 705 rooms) and shared-branch adequacy (2 branches supported, 33 unresolved). The D6 proposals stay unvalidated against the unchanged D3 model (part 3 of section 1).
The held proposals (QD4-001; never served, not re-checked). The model reported here is 46384686… without them.
- P05 (move 198, history lines 173 to 176; reverted by move 203, line 181). The statement would gain: "This holds where the keepers can learn of a planned change only by being told, and no informed member holds it." Status bounded. The bound names completeanarchy, polska, satania, halo, bangtan and thesilphroad (the keepers read the change from its shape) and armok, maryland and oneshot (informed members hold it), with their nine re-check lines.
- A11 (move 199, history lines 177 to 180; reverted by move 203, line 182). The arrow from P02 to P04 would be withdrawn under rule 14. It never beat its null. Template first (98 rooms) is nearly as common as the transition (111). The failure clause stands alone in 117 rooms, 31 of them talk only. 261 accepted restrict lines say that a template does not settle the design for good.
Audit, sections 6 and 7: what bore the load, and what the study cannot say (E1b-08)
Written at E1b-08, 27 October 2026. The figures come from
audit-E1/load_limits.py and
audit-E1/shelf_terms.py, each with its output beside it,
and from E1a's and the earlier legs' outputs.
1. Which stage was load-bearing
By stage.
- Every stage from A1 to D6 has outputs that a later stage names in its commands or reads:
| stage | outputs named later | outputs | stage | outputs named later | outputs |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| A1 | 13 | 20 | C4 | 6 | 10 |
| B1 | 15 | 25 | C5 | 13 | 74 |
| B2 | 18 | 61 | D1 | 54 | 722 |
| B3 | 11 | 1,266 | D2 | 4 | 7 |
| B4 | 10 | 146 | D3 | 4 | 23 |
| C1 | 6 | 16 | D4 | 20 | 70 |
| C2 | 15 | 37 | D5 | 11 | 48 |
| C3 | 4 | 9 | D6 | 7 | 271 |
- So every stage was load-bearing for something downstream, and no stage is the one whose output nothing read.
- The files no later stage names are mostly fleet packets, superseded copies, answers, notes and handbacks. Fleets, tools or the harness read these without naming them in a command, so this test cannot call them unread.
- By hand, some look read by nothing:
lexicon-A1.md,leads-outside-frame-A1.jsonl,ideas-B1.jsonl,kinds-B1.jsonl,form_pass-C1.md,gate_history.jsonl,within_case.md,sketches.mdandauthor_claims.jsonl. - These were not checked against every tool's inputs. They are listed
as candidates for a file nothing read, a defect in this instrument
(
defects.jsonlline 120, not sure).
The three files given for this test.
tools/chunk_compare.py. Its sha256 now equals the receipt indepartures.jsonl(chunk-comparison-v1.1,c8d2eb8c7c309c02…), and its outputs are present (chunk-share-D4.jsonland.md,projections-D4.jsonl). A stranger can rerun it. I did not.- The data-structure view. It moved between C2's last
snap (
57f68644867d) and C5's (c4a4c4884570), and it is unchanged since.data_structure-C5.mdis present. The C5 passes, which rewrote the declarations under the prose rule, moved it. account_passes.jsonl. It holds 15 passes, so the account's loop ran.
The model's tiers: do the dimensions do any work?
- Where they work: the dimensions sort the elements
(44 lines of
model/elements.jsonlname one). They state the propositions' levels (14 times by name inpropositions.jsonl). They order D6's retelling (retelling-D6.md, by its parts). They weigh 1.0 in D4's distance. - Where they do not: they appear in no line of
branches.jsonl,branches-D5.jsonlormodel/arrows.jsonl, and nowhere inaccount.md, by id or by name. - So the dimension tier works in the model's layout and in the retelling, but does no work in the account's argument, the arrows or the branches' keys. Read alone, it looks sound. Read with the stages, it is the tier the account never uses.
2. What the study cannot say, in one place
- Absence claims marked weak: F-015 (the rooms do not read their numbers off the replies to a call).
- Looked for and not found, stated as results:
- no loop passed the one-room test;
- A11's order never beat its null, and A12 has no order count;
- the held-size test of the arrows, declared in
prior.mdsection 3, was not run; - the onset contrast cannot be read, since each arrow's late side holds 0 to 15 rooms;
- the "dear enemy" and superordinate-goal predictions were declined,
because no query recovers their targets (
literature-C3.mdlines 84 and 89).
- Relationships weaker than the rest of the model: two arrows are theorised (A11, A12), four are thin (A05, A10, A14, A19) and two are partly constitutive (A16, A20). A21 is the one arrow no proposition rests on.
- The coders' disagreements: 72 lines in
coder_conflicts.jsonl. Which reading each affected claim rests on, with both quotes, was not read line by line at this leg. That is a limit. - Third-order themes the model does not use: 35 of 195 are reached by no standing element.
- What C1's form pass found that no tier could hold,
four kinds:
- April Fools play that stages no fake (17 lines in 15 rooms);
- another sub's April Fools change seen from this room (8 in 8);
- the sub's own moderation outside the canvas (8 in 7);
- disputes over the room's own jokes (4 in 4).
- Stage C3's remainder: 19 themes, covering talk in 694 rooms.
- Whether any room's problems were settled: only the room models speak to it, and nothing measures it.
- What a group leaves behind: the contract's section 1 question has no measure. The canvas is what the drawing left behind, and the instrument does not know whether the room went on.
The standing departures of this design, beside the run's own:
- Five tiers rather than three.
- The fourth-order tier cut at C1, before the loop. B1 made 197 third-order themes, C1 kept 195 inside fourth-order themes, and C2 to C5 wrote 8 third-order tier lines, merges and splits.
- Literature after the model.
- A scheme frozen at B2, before B3 (part 2 of the audit).
- The frame: 705 coded rooms against a target census
of 706, with no drops.
leads-outside-frame-A1.jsonlnames 2 rooms outside it. - The canvas held from the start, never scored against.
- One analyst above the assignment tier, seen by the hostile reader at C2, the three readers at C5, the labelers and the return's readers. There were no forks, and the room notes are the one input nothing checks.
- No human check at any tier, beyond J's rulings.
- No theoretical sampling. What stood in: the census, and 67 distinct rooms read against the stories.
- Saturation as 5 story passes and 2.51 new kinds per hundred themes.
- Replication as the in-sample return.
The critique shelf. I read the four read-tier files after the findings were fixed: Jowsey et al. (2025) and the call for papers whole, and O'Sullivan and Ravasi (2026) and Schildt (2026) by the objections' terms with their pages.
| objection | the shelf | does this run answer it? |
|---|---|---|
| invented quotes | O'Sullivan and Ravasi, p. 16; Schildt, pp. 1, 4 | In large part. 3,218 of 3,230 cited quotes resolve to their concept. The handler's raw check finds every coder quote in its item, and none of the case-account strings I could check is an invention. 33 strings from uncoded items stay unchecked (part 1). |
| the reasoning handed to the machine (cognitive offloading) | Schildt, p. 1; O'Sullivan and Ravasi, p. 2 | No. The design hands every tier above the coders to a model, and J's rulings are the only human steer. The run shows its reasoning; it does not keep a human doing it. |
| an opaque process | O'Sullivan and Ravasi, p. 17; Schildt, p. 1 | For the record of decisions, yes. Every move is snapped, every diary line drawn is borne out by its transcript (905 of 905), and every script states its rule. For the reasons inside a model's judgment, no. |
| the craft and reflexivity a model does not have | Jowsey et al., pp. 1 and 2; O'Sullivan and Ravasi, p. 13; Schildt, p. 14 | No. No positioned human researcher read the rooms. The experience file will be a model's account of itself. |
| more output instead of better | the call, p. 1; Schildt, pp. 1 and 2 | No. The run wrote thousands of files. The audit found the account at 3,326 words, not one to two pages, and 293 handback counts unchecked. |
| harm to the environment and to data workers | Jowsey et al., p. 2 | Not addressed. |
The call for papers' asks, for section 8, without changing a finding:
- Met in kind: an AI-enabled research loop under human direction; qualitative theory-building with a stated test; boundary-setting work, which this audit is.
- Partly met: reproducibility, since scripts declare
their rules, but no rerun is promised. A repository-like artifact also
exists, since
out/holds every file. - Not met: ethicality, as the call frames it, is not examined.
The one thing to say plainly.
- What the study produced: a model, the frozen spine and its arrows, with a typology below it (six room forms over 35 facet branches). It set out to produce a model.
- The strongest argument that the partition is size as form (contract section 5): D4's volume verdict. The cluster labels explain 0.255 of the variance in log concepts, at the 100th percentile of the permutation null (null maximum 0.026). The branches lean to large rooms.
- What answers it, in part: D6's size-matched test, under which 62 of the forms' 72 changed cells survive. I did not locate stage D4's line-count division at this leg.
- What would overturn the study: the re-check composes 686 of 705 rooms (0.973). If 4 or more of a stratified sample of 30 uncoded rooms did not compose (6 or more of 60), the uncoded rooms would fall outside the coded rate at the 1 per cent level.
- What I could not answer:
- whether the forms survive outside the sample;
- the coders' disagreements, read one by one;
- D4's line-count division;
- the leaf, which is the reconstruction's test.
3. Defects named at this leg
One line was appended to defects.jsonl (line 120, stage
E1, leg E1b-08, not sure): the files that no later stage names and that
look read by nothing.
The methods paragraph (stage E1 section 8)
We follow Gioia, Corley and Hamilton for stages A1 to D3, with five tiers and the loop. One coder instrument, run once per community by a reader sealed from every other, wrote the first two tiers for 705 rooms: 115,388 first-order concepts in the participants' words, 7,844 second-order themes and a case account per room. The audit did not establish the coders' model. One analyst, a Claude model (claude-opus-5-5), built every tier above them. It made 197 third-order themes at B1, kept 195 inside fourth-order themes at C1, and built the dimensions and the model with its arrows. It also ruled every split of the readers. Fleets of readers in fresh contexts checked the written instrument: deepseek-v4-flash and deepseek-v4.1-flash readers at B2 and B3, two arms at B4, a claude-opus-5-5 hostile reader at C2 and claude-opus-5-5 readers at C5, labelers at D2, gpt-6.1-sol readers at the D3 re-check, and deepseek-v4.1-flash readers at E1. Readers of one model are instances of it, not separate minds, and they are critics, never judges. In Shrestha, He, Puranam and von Krogh's terms, the coder tier and the fleets detect patterns and the analyst abducts. We cite Grodal, Anteby and Holm for the record of the categorization moves, each snapped from C2 on, and not for replicability.
The design departs from the method in four ways. First, the tiers are split between coders and analyst: the analyst coded no room, and the coders compared none. Second, there is no overlap between the coders' collection and the analysis: the analyst read the rooms only through the coders' store. Third, a census stands in place of sampling: 705 coded rooms against a target census of 706, with no drops. What stood in for theoretical sampling was sampling inside the corpus at C2 and the return to every room at D1 to D3. Fourth, the return is in-sample. It follows Eisenhardt's replication logic and is never a hold-out test. It is in-sample at the tier the model was built from, the coders' second-order themes. The expectations' replication score of 0.924 and the reconstruction's fidelity of 0.871 over 30 rooms are in-sample throughout.
The taxonomy classifies rooms by shared changes to the model: 223
distinct shared changes, gathered into 35 branches. The branches are a
similarity hierarchy with no claim of descent, and the chunk-share tree
is kept as the theory-free comparison. The canvas is what the drawing
left behind at the last hour of a 97-hour event. It is not a measure of
skill or intent, and the instrument has no measure of whether a room
went on. I held every room's canvas outcome while building, and the
record declares its use at A1 (each room's made line), at D4 (projected
after the snapped cuts) and at D5 (survival-D5.md, read
after the record). The store and cite.py serve the coded
record only. The run's one touch of the raw record is the handler's
quote check over 80 rooms: it found every coder quote in its item (a
share of 1.000) and 0.6573 of the case accounts' quoted strings in the
room's corpus. Every prompt, input, output, transcript and model
identifier is archived, so any claim can be traced to its source. The
study does not promise that a rerun reproduces it.
out/claims-E1.md
Claims against their evidence (stage E1, section 1)
Written at E1b-04, 27 October 2026. Contract section 1 names two kinds of claim:
- a pattern claim rests on counts across rooms, with their denominators;
- a words claim rests on what members wrote, through exemplars that resolve and the return's verdicts.
For every proposition (propositions.jsonl) and every
branch (branches-D5.jsonl), this table gives:
- the kind declared;
- the evidence named;
- the rival;
- whether the validation the claim received is of its kind.
A claim validated with the other kind's evidence would be a defect. No claim is.
The sources:
audit-E1/claims.py(E1a) lays out the fields.audit-E1/claims_returns.py(E1b-04) counts the return's verdicts on each arrow. It reads the last ruling inadjudications.jsonlof every return line on the arrow, from both the first return and the re-check, and counts the accepted lines by op.- The arrows'
supportquotes were resolved against the store at this leg: 57 quotes, all of which resolve.
The model is the D3 freeze, 46384686…. The held
proposals for P05 and A11 are not part of it.
The propositions
An arrow's order count reads "holds of both". "Both" is the number of rooms carrying both of its elements. "Holds" is the number in which the first concept of the one comes before the first concept of the other. The null is the 95th percentile of 500 shuffles within each room (seed 20261014). The return's accepted lines are summed over the proposition's arrows.
| id | kind declared | evidence named (arrow: holds of both, share, null p95; finding) | rival | return, accepted lines (instantiate, restrict, absent) | validation of its kind? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| N01 | pattern | A02 64 of 89, 0.719, 0.539; A01 81 of 126, 0.643, 0.571; A03 148 of 190, 0.779, 0.389; no finding | The order is how threads are made: the call is a title, the reports are comments under it. | 1,095; 622; 1,203 | Yes. Counts with denominators, every null beaten; 9 support quotes resolve. |
| N02 | pattern | A04 235 of 401, 0.586, 0.539; A13 171 of 240, 0.713, 0.642; A19 87 of 121, 0.719, 0.678; F-008 (inferred, standing) | Neighbours were there from the first post, so the talk comes with the spot. | 218; 885; 2,099 | Yes. Every null beaten; A19 is thin, as stated. |
| N03 | both | A15 93 of 129, 0.721, 0.550; A16 82 of 104, 0.788, 0.606; A17 95 of 172, 0.552, 0.477; A18 56 of 68, 0.824, 0.676; F-014 (read, bounded: refusals give a reason in 23 of 38, acceptances in 2 of 14) | Restraint is coded only when there is an attack call to refuse (A16 partly constitutive). | 729; 737; 2,494 | Yes, both kinds. The order counts beat their nulls, and the words come from 80 seeded reply pairs read for reasons. |
| N04 | pattern | A07 139 of 182, 0.764, 0.434; A08 225 of 289, 0.779, 0.609; A09 113 of 145, 0.779, 0.628; F-004 (inferred, standing) | The order is the clock's: celebrations and records cluster at the end in every room. | 230; 773; 1,802 | Yes, but the rival names the clock and none of the three arrows is read against the hour-73 bracket. |
| N05 | pattern | A20 132 of 155, 0.852, 0.594; before hour 73 (rulings): 102 of 118, 0.864, 0.644; F-010 (inferred, bounded) | A removal needs a post to remove (A20 partly constitutive). | 79; 247; 778 | Yes, and the one arrow read against a bracket of prior.md section 4. |
| N06 | pattern | A06 160 of 203, 0.788, 0.655; F-005 (inferred, standing) | The members who run scripts are the members who keep the work. | 63; 279; 918 | Yes. |
| N07 | both (theorised, thin) | A11 111 of 185, 0.600, 0.670, not beaten; A12 no order count; F-021 (inferred, standing); F-023 (read: 25 of 31 written acceptances bare) | Members decided their organization in chats off the record. | 712 (A12 691); 955 (A11 627); 948 | The pattern half is not established, as the proposition says (theorised, thin). The words half rests on read replies and on the return instantiating A12 in 691 accepted lines. The return restricts A11 far more than it instantiates it (627 against 21); that is the held proposal to withdraw it. It is not validated with the other kind's evidence. |
| N08 | pattern (thin) | A10 11 of 21, 0.524, 0.429; F-019 (read: after doubt and a loss, 10 moved and 11 gave up) | Rooms move by a coalition's plan, and the judgment of too few hands is written after. | 44; 457; 729 | Yes, on 21 rooms, as stated thin. |
| N09 | pattern (thin) | A05 106 of 158, 0.671, 0.658; A14 138 of 214, 0.645, 0.636; F-020 (read) | Sparing is tacit and comes first; help comes with the neighbour, not with the border. | 517; 508; 1,138 | Yes, narrowly: both shares sit just above their nulls. A05's mechanism is theorised, as stated. |
The bracket each sits in (prior.md section 4):
- The order counts run over the whole record. The pre-event week, placement (hours 0 to 73) and aftermath (73 to 97) are counted together.
- Only A20 (N05) is also read inside a bracket, before hour 73.
- Every counted arrow but A12 and A21 carries the onset contrast's
early and late counts (
early_late).
Not done, against prior.md section 3:
- No arrow's order test was run at held size, although section 3 says the population pattern is "supported by a pattern that holds in counts over the analysed set and at held size". The one finding tested at held size is F-009 (the play frame does not delay the canvas work).
- The order was read against section 4's brackets for A20 alone.
- Both gaps are recorded in
defects.jsonl(line 114).
The branches
Every branch rests on its shared key in the ledger for membership, and on its account's quotes for what it is. The 35 accounts cite 38 to 89 concepts each, and those resolved at E1b-01. The kind of each warrant is therefore both, as prior.md section 3 asks of forms and subforms. "Form" means the branch passed D5's form test; "grouping" means its members share the key but no condition was stated that explains them jointly. Local validation is established for none.

The verdicts are the first return's. branches-D5.jsonl
names no proposition that a branch holds or fails.
prior.md section 3's declaration, against what each level rests on
- The population pattern.
- Declared: counts with their denominators; the order on the clock against section 4's brackets; the onset contrast; the organizing end under section 5; support at held size; the words secondary.
- Rests on: counts with their denominators and an order beating a within-room null, for 18 of the 20 arrows the propositions rest on. A11 is not beaten, and A12 has no count; A21 is in no proposition and has no null test. The onset contrast's counts are recorded for 19 of the 20, all but A12, and the organizing end is A1's field.
- Not done: the held-size test, and the brackets for every arrow but A20.
- The words: the 57 support quotes, secondary as declared.
- The forms and subforms.
- Declared: both kinds, the shape primary for membership and the words primary for what the form is.
- Rests on: just that. The keys of D4 give membership, and the accounts' cited concepts give the words.
- Status: two of 35 branches pass the form test; 33 are groupings, reported as such.
- The six room forms of D4a-05 to D4a-08: they rest on the
same two kinds, by changes and codes, with their accounts
(
room-form-*-account.md).
- The particular histories.
- Declared: the words primary: a dated sequence of the room's own turns that the model's elements reach.
- Rests on: the room models of D2 and D3 and the coders' case accounts.
- The element-reach half of section 3's local measure was
computed at E1a (
audit-E1/element_reach.py). Of 5,380 second-order themes that hold a coordinating turn, in 696 rooms, 4,759 are reached by a standing element (88.46 per cent), or 5,239 with the candidates (97.38 per cent). 297 rooms are reached in full, or 581 with the candidates. - Not computed: the other half, a validated adaptation or a theme listed as unresolved with its reason. So local validation is not established.
- The method question's verdict is the work of section 3 of the audit.

(supersedes "F-006@C2a-01", a form other than the bare id
the later lines use), with no change of kind. |

The recall probes (stage E1)
Written at E1b-05, 27 October 2026. At every leg's close the harness asked five questions, to be answered from memory without opening a file:
- goal: the method question;
- open: the open distinctions, by slug;
- rooms: the last three rooms opened;
- changed: the element or theme changed, and why;
- next: the next comparison.
It stored the answers and the expected values in
out/_probe/NN-L.json. There are 300 answer files, over 16
stages.
The sources:
audit-E1/probes_score.py(E1a) gives each file's status as filed, and re-reads it byprobe.py's own rules.audit-E1/probes_notes.py(E1b-05) sorts each wrong re-read answer. It is a note where the head, the diary or the question files held the answer at the close. It is a defect where none did.- n/a, where nothing on record could check the answer, is counted apart and never as recall.
I did not rerun probe.py --score. It writes into
_probe/, which is the harness's, and it would score against
the question files as they stand now, not as they stood at each
close.
As filed, and re-read
As filed, probe.py found "missing" for most answers,
because 283 of the 300 answer files write - **goal:** ...
in bold markdown, and its matching rule reads only a bare
goal: ... line. The re-read strips the marks and applies
the same rule to the same expected values. The filed score is the
record; the re-read says how much of it was the parse.
| question | filed: right, wrong, missing, n/a | re-read: right | re-read: wrong, a note | re-read: wrong, a defect | n/a |

| goal | 17, 0, 283, 0 | 298 | 2 | 0 | 0 |

The test for a note.
- goal: the head states the method question at every close.
- open: every expected slug is a file in
_questions/. - rooms: every expected room is named in the stage's diary.
- changed: an expected id is named in the stage's diary.
- next: the expected text's first six words are in the diary.
For rooms, the declared test read only the leg's own diary lines, and
gave 24 notes and 101 defects. But the expected rooms repeat across legs
that opened nothing: A1b-20 to A1b-26 all expect predators, Russiaclan
and winnipegjets. The harness's value is therefore the last three rooms
on record, not the leg's own. Read over the stage's diary up to the
close, 111 are notes and 14 defects. Both counts are in
probes_notes.json; its first run, the declared rule alone,
is kept as .superseded-1.
The recall failures that are defects (18)
These are misses that neither the head nor the diary nor the question files answered at the close:
- rooms, 14: B1b-01, B1b-03 to B1b-08, B1b-17 to
B1b-19, B1b-19-p2, B1b-20, B1b-21 and D5a-33. At B1 the rooms were
opened through
mem.py roomand recorded in the read log, but the diary names no room for these legs, so the head and the diary could not answer. - changed, 4: D4a-06, D4a-07, D4a-08 and D6a-01. The diary of those legs names none of the expected ids.
All 18 are recall failures of the record, the memory a later leg reads. They are not faults in the work the legs did.

What the probes show.
- The method question was carried at every close, and stated right in 298 of 300 re-read answers.
- The open distinctions and the last rooms were the weakest recall. Most of those misses (open 135, rooms 111) are notes: the record held what the session's memory did not.
- What the record lost is narrow: the rooms of 13 B1 legs and one D5 leg, and the changes of three D4 legs and the first D6 leg. The harness drew its expected values from the run's own files, so these were recorded somewhere, but not in the head or the diary, which a later leg reads first.

Expectations against the ledger and the verdicts (stage E1)
Written at E1b-07, 27 October 2026, from
audit-E1/expectations.py and its output,
expectations.json. sealed/EXPECTATIONS.jsonl
holds one line per analysed room (705). Each line names the elements and
arrows the room was expected to instantiate and those expected to be
absent, with the source of each expectation (the implications of C5, the
propositions and the placements).
A room's evidence on an element is its accepted return lines on that element, from the first return and the re-check, with the last ruling of each line:
- Taken up: an accepted instantiate, restrict, add-condition, add-step or link line.
- Contradicted: an accepted contradict line.
- Absent: only an accepted absent line.
- Untested: no line.
The score is in-sample throughout: the expectations were written from the same rooms whose return scores them, and the uncited concept ids are computed by script, not held out.
The replication score
| outcome | expectations |
|---|---|
| met | 8,034 |
| failed: absent where it was expected | 575 |
| failed: taken up where absence was expected | 87 |
| untested: no line | 944 |
The replication score is 0.924 (8,034 met of 8,696 met or failed).
By verdict, the first return's (both readers agreeing, else split):
| verdict | score | met | failed |
|---|---|---|---|
| composes | 0.933 | 1,443 | 104 |
| composes with residue | 0.917 | 4,703 | 425 |
| split | 0.933 | 1,846 | 133 |
| cannot tell | 1.0 | 40 | 0 |
| does not compose | 1.0 | 2 | 0 |
By branch, the score runs from 0.887 (F16) to 0.964
(F04). The 229 rooms in no branch score 0.919. Every branch's score is
in expectations.json.
The two failures, by element.
- Expected absent, taken up: C01, decided order, in 81 rooms. This is the largest single failure. The return finds decided order in many rooms the coding did not.
- Expected present, absent: A04 (62), A08 (61), A06 (59), A13 (52) and A19 (48). In those rooms, the return's only accepted word on the arrow is that it is absent.
Stage D5's survival figures per branch, from the
record and never from the canvas, are in survival-D5.md and
branches-D5.jsonl (work_remained re-read for
the 476 rooms in a branch, agreeing with the field in 248). They stand
beside these scores. D5's reading of work_remained is an
open defect (line 100), so no score here is set against survival.
The field's entries
The field model handed over three entries at C4a
(sealed/FIELD.jsonl). Over the 705 rooms:
| entry | taken up | contradicted | absent | no line | D3's ruling |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| P21 (members say an agreement cannot bind every placer) | 166 | 0 | 490 | 49 | standing (D3a-26, rule 11): shown in the rooms' own lines |
| P22 (rooms contest which version of the work is kept) | 223 | 0 | 463 | 19 | standing (D3a-06, rule 11): shown in the rooms' own lines |
| A21 (an agreement, or the making of terms, brings the disclaimer) | 112 | 0 | 567 | 26 | standing with a bound (D3a-27, rule 11): counted in the rooms' own lines |
| the model's other 48 standing elements and arrows, mean per element | 382.6 | 0.1 | 235.3 | 87.0 |
The tentative mark drew answers, but fewer than the model's other elements. All three were taken up in 112 to 223 rooms, and none was contradicted. Each is absent in more rooms than the mean element, so the return speaks of them less often.
The onset contrast
contrast.md (A1, recomputed at A1b-20) sets two sides:
131 early rooms and 61 late, with a held-size comparison of 41 early and
12 late. Stage C2 recorded each arrow's early_late
counts.
Rule 6, the denominators before any gap:
- 19 arrows carry the counts. The late side holds 0 to 15 rooms per arrow (95 over all 19), and the early side 4 to 93 (818).
- No arrow's late side is large enough to read a gap. The pooled figures (578 of 818 early, 54 of 95 late) are not independent, because the same rooms recur across arrows. So no gap is read.
A1's expectations:
- Late rooms organize around finding room; their organizing lives are shorter; early rooms name rivals more; the held-size comparison keeps the first difference and loses the third.
- They are untested by these counts. They are neither held nor failed.
- The contrast is a boundary condition that the model's terms could not test on this record, not a covariate.
out/retelling-D6.md
The retelling: the model with its forms inside it
Part 1 goes dimension by dimension, one leg each (D6a-01 to D6a-08);
part 2, the telling, follows, written at D6b with the figure
(figure-D6.md). The two parts, with the sensitivity section
added at D6a-09 and the size-held test added at D6a-10, run to about
15,000 words. The forms are the six room forms of D4a-08c, by their
final names (room-forms-names.md); the 35 branches are the
level below and appear where they explain a form (the PI's message for
D6, on J's word). The model is the version frozen at D3
(46384686d6173fdeb4c749667478c1363e675bc6b52bb6f4fdc211d387e68525), with
two held proposals (QD4-001) stated in full in each form account.
The six forms:
- A, Border terms and the announced plan (166 rooms, 135 defining).
- B, Behind the thread: chat, scripts, raids (141, 113; a residual grouping, not a form, with three facets held by different rooms: the chat, the scripts and the raids).
- C, The design reopened (125, 96).
- D, Keeping, with help or carrying on (119, 96), with its splits D.1, Keeping with the call; D.2, Keeping inside the sub's play; and below D.2, D.2.1, The play, carried on, and D.2.2, The play, kept.
- E, The sub's play, run as work (98, 84).
- F, Moving for the spot (56, 34).
The form lines, one per element and room form, are in
fractal-forms-D6.jsonl; the branch lines, at least one per
branch where it explains a form, are in fractal-D6.jsonl
(QD6-001; departures.jsonl line 20). How each form line is
decided (rule logged at D6a-01 before it ran,
_analysis/d6_fractal.py): on a form's defining rooms, an op
on an element or arrow leans where it is held by max(5, a tenth of the
defining rooms) or more, at 1.2 times the 558 defining rooms' share or
more. A form replaces the element where contradict
lines lean, restricts it where restrict lines lean and
outnumber the other leaning ops, specifies it where
add-step, add-condition or link lines lean, and leaves it
untouched otherwise. No form replaces any element. The
coding vocabulary made that relation nearly unreachable: the readers
returned 11 contradict lines among 42,243 at the first return and 4
among 53,493 at the re-check, and none stands among the forms' selected
lines. Restrict lines often say what a contradict line would have said.
Of each form's restrict lines on arrows, 43 to 63 per cent say that the
arrow fails in the room (Part 2 gives the counts by form). Each relation
is a claim about the form's changes, a pattern across rooms counted by
the ledger; what the rooms did is a claim on their words. No canvas
field is used. How far each changed cell depends on the rule's two
thresholds is in the sensitivity section after Part 2, and how far it
depends on record size is in the size-held test after that; each cell's
marks are in form-cells-sensitivity-D6.tsv and
form-cells-size-D6.tsv.
Local validation is not established. prior.md section 3's measure was not computed, and every member's adapted local account is unresolved. That measure would show each second-order theme with a coordinating turn reached by an element or a validated adaptation; it moves to E1. So wherever this telling names a room that shows a pattern best or least well, the room shows it in its ruled lines in the ledger, not in a validated account of the room.
Part 1. Dimension by dimension
D01, Critical mass
In the global model. Critical mass is whether a scattered readership gathers enough hands, who know how to place, to make a work viable on the clock, and how a room reads its own numbers. Three fourth-order themes sit under it. Mobilization is the call and its answer: the room calls its members and kindred subs to place (P01), a member answers in one line that asks for nothing back (P15), the call follows a member's start (A02), and a bare join answers the call (A12). Sensemaking is members asking what the canvas is and others explaining it (P24). Collective efficacy is the room judging that it has too few hands or too little room (K02), and members stepping away under strain or repairing a quarrel (P32, a candidate). The model has the call at the start of the work, after a member proposes or begins the mark.
Mobilization. Three forms specify the call (P01), and each makes it return later in the work.
- In C, The design reopened, the call returns within the work. A finished figure, a granted space or a member's report of a part done becomes the premise for the next call. The rooms that show it best are r/starbound, r/bisexual and r/suomi; r/Honduras shows it least well. Not every C link is a return: in r/trees an explanation of the canvas leads a member to say they will place, and in r/anaheimducks the organiser explains why the timer favours working together. That is local variation inside the specification.
- In D, Keeping, with help or carrying on, the call returns from carrying on and from loss: a later canvas, damage to the mark or a lost spot leads the room back to calling for hands. r/bindingofisaac, r/rotmg and r/edmontonoilers show it best; r/rojava least well. Two branches explain part of it: F11 (carrying on as renewed work, begun before the close) and F12 (the spine restarted on another canvas) lean to D at 2.62 and 2.69 times its share, and three of their rooms in D link the call (r/bindingofisaac, r/furry_irl, r/sadboys), two of them to a later canvas or a remake.
- In F, Moving for the spot, the call returns after a lost, taken or bulldozed spot: a failed attempt or a smaller restart reopens the call at a new spot. r/twentyonepilots, r/snsd and r/penguins show it best; r/dbz least well. F09 (the move returns to building) leans to F at 2.33 times its share, but of its rooms in F only r/penguins links the call, and not to a move, so the branch does not explain this return; F09's line is read at the building element (D02).
- A, B and E leave P01 untouched.
The start before the call (A02) is restricted in D and E, where the start and the first call share one post in the restricting rooms; the lines say that the two coincide, and in two E rooms (r/nintendo, r/titanfall) a call came before any start. The bare answer (A12) is restricted in F, where answers to a call often ask where or how to help, or give a reason (r/sips, r/latin, r/UPenn; r/ducks least well). The one-line answer itself (P15) is untouched in all six forms.
Sensemaking. All six forms leave P24 untouched. Members asked what the canvas is and were answered in every form, at about the population's rate: P24 is instantiated in 84 to 95 per cent of each form's defining rooms.
Collective efficacy. All six forms leave K02 untouched as a change, although form F instantiates it in 32 of 34 defining rooms, against 82 per cent of the 558; F's rooms judged their room too small or their hands too few, and the change they made was to the move that followed (A10, read under D04). Form B restricts P32: where a member left, the reason given was the room's scripts or an ideology (r/placecanada, r/EraseThePlace), not strain, and attempts to repair a quarrel are seen without their outcome (r/reddevils, r/FederationPlace; r/EraseThePlace least well).
What the forms add to the dimension. The model has
the call once, at the start. Three forms show it again, after a finish
(C), after carrying on or a loss (D) and after a lost spot (F). The
account grounds no loop; these link lines are the material for one, and
they go to proposals-D6.jsonl as an unvalidated proposal
(PR-D6-01), not into the model. Two smaller proposals answer branch
notes from D5 with the forms' lines: an answer that joins and asks for a
task as a second form of acceptance (PR-D6-02, from F's A12 lines and
branch F35), and a start that is itself the first call, as a clause in
A02's bound (PR-D6-03, from D's and E's A02 lines and branch F32).
Elsewhere the forms leave critical mass as the model states it.
D02, Coordination without command
Written at D6a-02. Form lines in fractal-forms-D6.jsonl
(78 lines: 13 units by six forms; 21 lean, 57 untouched); branch lines
in fractal-D6.jsonl.
In the global model. Coordination without command is how hands that no one can command come to place the same picture: what settles what the room will make, and what aligns the placing. Six fourth-order themes sit under it. Collective representation is the design (P02). Direct information sharing is members reporting the mark's state as they build (P03). Standardization of output is the template (P04). Workarounds are the scripts, bots and spare accounts (P14), with the site's faults (K06) and members' own time and devices (K05). Backstage decision-making is the chat (P23) and keeping plans from rivals (P33). Decided order is the starter (R01) and the claim that most rooms worked without deciding how they were organized (C01, a decided element in 46 of 705 rooms). Three arrows end here: the call brings builders (A01), a template settles the design (A11, its withdrawal a held proposal), and scripts follow upkeep under strain (A06).
Collective representation. Two forms specify the design.
- In C, The design reopened, the design is settled for a time and reopened: a provisional choice made overnight, rough lettering to hold a gap, a finished mark followed by the next addition. r/bardmains, r/gatech and r/aggies show it best; r/uvic least well. F07 and F34 explain it.
- In E, The sub's play, run as work, the design depends on the host and the means: a host's approval for space, the colours and size available, the upkeep of a picture already standing (r/warframe, r/starlightstage, r/yugioh; r/baylor least well). F34 explains it here too.
- A, B, D and F leave P02 untouched.
F34's rooms in C and E size the design to the hands before any loss,
a consequence of K02 that the model does not state; it goes to
proposals-D6.jsonl as PR-D6-05.
Direct information sharing. Only F, Moving for the spot, specifies P03: building returns after a move, as a new spot or a replacement plan is followed by a new start (r/wildhockey, r/portal, r/UPenn; r/warthunder least well). F09 (the move returns to building) explains it: 8 of the 12 holders are its rooms. The arrow from the move to building is PR-D6-04. The call-to-building arrow (A01) is restricted in D and E. In D the call and the building overlap, and an active builder also recruits (r/gorillaz, r/gamindustri, r/rotmg; r/cgpgrey least well). In E the two appear apart in the record (r/uwaterloo, r/paragon, r/teslamotors; r/baylor least well).
Standardization of output. Three forms specify the template.
- In A, Border terms and the announced plan, members keep the template in step with the placements: they correct references against what is placed and replace stale plans (r/FloydVsVoid, r/stardewvalley, r/kamenrider; r/Villanova least well). F15 explains it: 20 of the 32 holders are its rooms. F15's note asked whether the plan follows the work; in form A it does.
- In C the template is kept current: builders retire outdated posts, announce changed locations and message overwriters (r/torontoraptors, r/eve, r/tf2; r/kuwait least well). F33 explains it.
- In F the template moves with the spot: a new site gets an anchor coordinate (r/dallasstars, r/latin, r/portal; r/warthunder least well).
F15 and F33, which their notes call one change at two nodes, fall in different forms, A and C. C restricts A11. In 40 of its 58 lines the template did not settle the design: colours, sizes and spacing stayed open, or a redesign was repaired away as damage (r/starbound, r/bardmains, r/pitt; r/guatemala least well; F07 and F33). These are the grounds of the held A11 proposal, which stays held.
Workarounds. Three forms specify machine hands and two restrict them.
- B, Behind the thread: chat, scripts, raids, runs scripts as shared tools whose targets and versions are kept in step (r/mexico, r/PlaceNL, r/AmericanFlaginPlace; r/aeon least well). F08 (machine hands kept on one target) explains it: 24 of the 33 holders.
- E lets machine hands help only on conditions: matching targets, agreed overlaps, updates reaching every runner (r/mls, r/dota2, r/teslamotors).
- F keeps scripts and overlays in step across accounts, and members switch automation off to place by hand (r/wildhockey, r/predators, r/sbu; F08).
- A and D restrict P14. There scripts are offered, debated and refused, and the record shows the offer more than any placing (A: r/FloydVsVoid, r/mindcrack, r/prequelmemes; D: r/rutgers, r/danganronpa, r/Temple, with F24).
- A06 is restricted in D and F. Scripts did not wait for strain: they were offered for a new build or a move, or came with the first request to coordinate construction (D 12 of 21 lines fail as stated; F: r/sips, r/wildhockey, r/uiowa).
- K05 and K06 are untouched in all six forms.
Backstage decision-making. B specifies the chat. It works on conditions: invitations that work and a current plan members can find (r/mexico, r/quebec, r/reddevils; r/lithuania least well). F16 and F29 explain it, the chat family the D5 notes read as one change with three ops. A specifies the chat's upkeep: expired invitations are replaced and decisions are brought back for members outside it (r/berserk, r/theexpanse, r/de; r/japan least well). Inside A, F30 (the chat seen only through its invitations and returned reports, not its choices) restricts P23: its rooms are 10 of A's 16 restrict holders, and they show the chat only from outside, through invitations, venues offered and reports that come back (r/xcom, r/forsen, r/prequelmemes; line added at D6a-07). E restricts P23: its threads hold invitations and claims brought back, not how the chat decided. No form changes P33.
Decided order. A and C restrict C01. In their lines, rooms divided the work, appointed representatives, assigned defenders or pixels, and endorsed a template, though implementation is not shown and the population count is not tested. A's best rooms are r/FloydVsVoid, r/furry and r/berserk; C's are r/PUBATTLEGROUNDS, r/bisexual and r/gatech. R01 is untouched.
What the forms add to the dimension. Each form specifies the part of coordination its name says:
- A, the template kept in step with the placements and a division of the work;
- B, shared scripts and a chat that works only on conditions;
- C, the design reopened and the template kept current;
- E, design and scripts on the host's and the tools' conditions;
- F, building again after a move, with a template that moves with the spot.
D specifies nothing here; it restricts the order of call and building and the arrow from strain to scripts. Two unvalidated proposals come from this dimension: PR-D6-04 (after the move, the room builds again) and PR-D6-05 (the design sized to the hands before any loss).
D03, Maintenance
Written at D6a-03. Form lines in fractal-forms-D6.jsonl
(18 lines: 3 units by six forms; 4 lean, 14 untouched); branch lines in
fractal-D6.jsonl.
In the global model. Maintenance is what keeps a finished work alive on a surface anyone can change, and how a room decides what a change to its work was. Two fourth-order themes sit under it. Repair work is keeping (P05): members watch the work and repair changed pixels, rally under attack, cover the night, harden the shape and put upkeep before growth. Its second and third sentences are the telling clause. Repair restores the form the keepers know, so a change the room planned is repaired away until its keepers are told of it. Attribution is working out who changed the work and why (P06). One arrow ends here: once a mark stands, keeping it becomes the work (A03, building then keeping). Four D5 findings bound the telling clause: F-024 (the change read from its shape, informed members holding it), F-025 (informed members reject it), F-026 (at the border) and F-027 (in keeping). The held P05 proposal states the first of these as a bound, and it stays held (QD4-001).
Repair work. Four forms change keeping, each in its own way.
- In A, Border terms and the announced plan, keeping takes conditions and links. Protecting a neighbour can mean undoing the room's own overextension (r/FloydVsVoid). Keepers can refuse a change they know of as a takeover (r/de). Repair follows the keeper's own idea of the right form, even when that form holds a spelling error (r/prequelmemes). An announced finish is followed by repair and renewed defence (r/stardewvalley, r/ripcity). F32 (the marking returns to keeping) explains the links: 9 of its rooms hold them. r/halo shows the form's keeping least well.
- In C, The design reopened, the lines restrict the telling clause. Informed members refused changes, or the record cannot tell ignorance from dissent, and none of the 47 lines shows a change lost only for want of telling (r/bardmains, r/pitt, r/PUBATTLEGROUNDS; r/pusheen least well). F07 (the telling clause not shown at the design) explains it: 34 of its rooms are among the 46 that restrict.
- In D, Keeping, with help or carrying on, keeping is shared and checked. Watches are volunteered and handed on, keepers check the current canvas and the intended form before they repair, and the room ranks what to keep (r/portugal, r/mylittlepony, r/rotmg; r/glasgow least well). F27 explains part of it: two of its four rooms here check whether a change is intended before undoing it (r/OnePiece, r/radiohead).
- In F, Moving for the spot, keeping begins before the mark is finished. A border reserves the space, defenders are planned before a stable work exists, and a repair tool's reference image is diagnosed and changed (r/wildhockey, r/portal, r/planetside; r/clubpenguin least well). F08 explains the machine part.
- B, Behind the thread: chat, scripts, raids, and E, The sub's play, run as work, leave P05 untouched. E instantiates it in 71 of 84 defining rooms, against 93.4 per cent of the 558; its records hold less keeping.
A03, building then keeping, is untouched in all six forms.
Attribution. P06 is untouched in all six forms. Form D comes nearest: 9 of its defining rooms add steps to working out who changed the work, at 2.01 times the 558's share, one room under its floor of 10.
The telling clause, read across the forms, as the D5 notes asked. The forms that touch the clause show four ways it holds only in part:
- informed keepers refuse a change: C, and r/de in A (F-025);
- the news must cross to a neighbour: the border, read under D04 (F-026);
- a script keeps the old form until its operator changes the target: F, and branch F08 (F-027's machine route);
- keepers check before they repair: D.
The last is a route by which keepers learn of a planned change other
than being told. It is the step the room models of r/OnePiece, r/cowchop
and r/armok proposed (F27's note), and it goes to
proposals-D6.jsonl as PR-D6-06, unvalidated. No form's
lines show a planned change lost only because its keepers were not told.
P05's statement is unchanged, and the held proposal stays held.
What the forms add to the dimension. Every form keeps its work as P05 states it. What differs is when keeping starts and how keepers learn the intended form:
- A ties keeping to the neighbours and to the finished mark;
- C meets the telling clause with refusal;
- D shares and checks the keeping;
- F keeps the spot before there is a mark to keep.
D04, Order without law
Written at D6a-04. Form lines in fractal-forms-D6.jsonl
(120 lines: 20 units by six forms; 22 lean, 98 untouched); branch lines
in fractal-D6.jsonl.
In the global model. Order without law is how rooms that cannot compel one another keep order between their works on one canvas. Five fourth-order themes sit under it. Live and let live is sparing: rooms spare their neighbours' work, rein in their own attackers and apologise for damage (P07), and members argue whether covering others' work is fair (P31, a candidate). Negotiated order is border terms: rooms propose, settle and contest borders, truces and deals (P08), through envoys (R02). Members say that one member's agreement does not bind every placer (P21), and some members belong to both rooms (K07, a candidate). Reciprocity is help between rooms (P16). Meta-organization is coalitions (P17). Territoriality is the spot: the room chooses where to build before any loss (P27, a candidate), moves after a loss (P10), and lives on a host's mark under the host's rule (P19). Nine arrows end here. Keeping the mark brings the room to its neighbours (A04), and an attack call is met with a truce (A17). A settled border is a line members keep (A05), and an attack call is refused inside the room (A16). Short of hands, a room turns to other rooms (A13), and a settled border opens a channel for help (A14). Under attack, works defend each other (A19). Too few hands, so the room moves (A10). A21 runs from an agreement to the dispute over who may commit the room. F-020 bounds the dimension: sparing rests mostly on the room's own norm, and help rests on a deal about as often as not.
Live and let live. Four forms specify sparing, each with its own condition.
- In A, Border terms and the announced plan, sparing rests on overlapping membership, valued neighbouring art or fear of retaliation, and on placers whom the negotiators admit they cannot control (r/foxes, r/twice, r/hellointernet; r/germany least well).
- In B, Behind the thread: chat, scripts, raids, sparing passes through the room's tools. An instruction to spare agreed space must reach script users as a target update, and admitted script damage brings apology and repair (r/PlaceNL, r/theitalyplace, r/monero; r/asexual least well).
- In C, The design reopened, the room states its reason for restraint: an apology after a complaint, or help and space received from the neighbour (r/bisexual, r/farmcarrots, r/metroid; r/kindafunny least well).
- In D, Keeping, with help or carrying on, restraint protects the room's own logo, repays earlier help, and does not reach every placer (r/gamindustri, r/denverbroncos, r/portugal; r/magictcg least well).
A05, the settled border kept, changes in three forms. A restricts it
in 39 of 135 defining rooms. Restraint often comes before any settlement
is shown, and a treaty guides the members who learn and accept it while
others keep placing against it (r/stardewvalley, r/furry, r/berserk;
r/RelientK least well). F26 (the telling clause not shown at the border)
explains the second half: its rooms keep a border only where placers
learn and accept its terms (r/placetardis, r/furry, r/thailand). B and D
add the condition that the terms reach the placer (B: r/quebec,
r/reddevils, r/AmericanFlaginPlace; r/neu least well. D:
r/bindingofisaac, r/denverbroncos, r/mylittlepony; r/pepe least well).
In B, F08 (machine hands kept on one target) explains part of it: an
accommodation needs compatible script targets (r/india,
r/AmericanFlaginPlace). In D some placers do not learn of the truce
(r/bindingofisaac, r/radiohead). Read together, these lines state F-026
for the border. Told placers stop. Placers the terms do not reach keep
placing, and a script keeps placing until its target is changed. The
reading goes to proposals-D6.jsonl as PR-D6-07, a bound on
A05, unvalidated.
E, The sub's play, run as work, restricts A16. Its restraint answers reported harm, overlap or a planned enlargement, not a written attack call refused inside the room (r/uwaterloo, r/starlightstage, r/hunterxhunter; r/wow least well). No form changes P31. E comes nearest, with 8 restrict holders, one room under its floor of 9.
Negotiated order. Three forms specify border terms.
- In A, border terms take work and meet limits (r/FloydVsVoid, r/catalunya, r/twice; r/kurdistan least well). F10 (a deal carried out as work) explains it: 14 of its rooms hold the deciding lines. Members discuss a border inside the room before contact (r/drawhelix), check a request's consensus and credibility (r/switzerland), and carry the terms to placers and templates, a step members say is still incomplete (r/poland, r/transformers). Identity colours limit what members concede (r/twice), and uncontrolled placers can defeat a promise (r/littlewitchacademia).
- In B, border talk has steps before and after it: a treaty request before any damage, local consensus before a proposal, and a negotiated move relayed to builders (r/linux, r/czech, r/FederationPlace; r/duckgame least well).
- In C, agreements are kept apart from compliance: members report attacks after announced terms, and a truce needs a counterpart able to keep it (r/torontoraptors, r/gatech, r/suomi; r/earthbound least well).
F, Moving for the spot, restricts A04. In 13 of its 34 defining rooms
border talk comes before keeping. Rooms ask neighbours for permission or
access while they seek a spot (r/dallasstars, r/sips, r/wildhockey;
r/Northwestern least well), or a neighbour objects when the room's
building or script crosses its work (r/KState, r/httyd). No branch
explains the cell. F09's rooms hold 4 of the 13 lines, but F09's change
is building again after a move. The two routes go to
proposals-D6.jsonl as PR-D6-09: arrows from choosing the
spot (P27) and from building (P03) into border terms, beside A04,
unvalidated. R02, P21, K07, A17 and A21 are untouched in all six
forms.
Reciprocity. Two forms specify help, and one branch specifies it where its form does not.
- In C help is part of the room's own building. Helpers alternate placements between the two works, and paired scripts give spare capacity to the neighbour (r/starbound, r/pitt, r/timbers; r/bretagne least well).
- In D help waits on the helper's own work (r/gamindustri, r/rutgers, r/mylittlepony; r/OneTrueEmilia least well). F22 (help conditional on the helper's own work and spare hands) explains it: 11 of its rooms hold the deciding lines. Donors give when their work is secure and pixels are spare (r/mylittlepony, r/OnePiece), and they weigh what the help does to a third room's mark (r/gamindustri).
- In A the form leaves P16 untouched, but F28 (help at the border conditional) specifies it: its rooms are 10 of the form's 22 add-condition holders. The helper's home work must be safe (r/ripcity, r/utaustin), the neighbour must stop attacking (r/catalunya), and promised help stays apart from help delivered (r/lsu, r/necrodancer).
C and D restrict A13, short of hands, a room turns to other rooms (C
30 of 96 defining rooms, D 33 of 96). In C donors help from completed or
well-kept work, and help comes with construction and overlap repair
(r/bardmains, r/cubers, r/PUBATTLEGROUNDS; r/uvic least well). F07's
rooms hold 12 of the 30 lines, but F07's change is the telling clause,
not help, so it does not explain the cell. In D help comes from surplus
more than shortage. Donors give after their own work is finished or
safe, repay earlier protection, and put off help while their home
defence is short (r/gamindustri, r/bindingofisaac, r/denverbroncos;
r/cgpgrey least well). F22 explains part of it: aid repays earlier
protection once the room's own image is finished (r/OnePiece), and
donors weigh their own work's safety (r/mylittlepony). Read with F22 and
F28, the lines say that a shortage brings the request, and the donor's
spare hands decide whether help comes. This answers the D5 note on D's
A13. It goes to proposals-D6.jsonl as PR-D6-08,
unvalidated. In 12 other lines a request is recorded and arriving help
is not shown; the record cannot tell whether it came.
A restricts A14, a settled border opens a channel for help. In A help is part of the bargain more than its result: pixels and shared upkeep are offered as the terms, or help is under way when the bargaining starts (r/catalunya, r/jerma985, r/empiredidnothingwrong; r/norway least well).
Meta-organization. P17 and A19 are untouched in all six forms.
Territoriality. Three forms change the spot and the move.
- D restricts P19, hosting. Guests ask for space or depend on a host, but a grant, an approval procedure or a durable host rule is not shown (r/gorillaz, r/gamindustri, r/denverbroncos; r/sadboys least well). F restricts it the same way, at the request stage (r/sips, r/latin, r/UPenn; r/streetfighter least well). In A the form leaves P19 untouched, but F31 (hosting as one-off permission) restricts it: its rooms are 8 of the form's 12 restrict holders. An overlap is permitted for one arrangement (r/foxes), a replacement permission is called provisional (r/malaysia), and an incorporation is offered and accepted on conditions (r/mindcrack). In all three forms hosting shows as a request and a single permission, not a standing host rule.
- F restricts P27. The choice of spot also comes after a loss: the room picks a new site or a backup while another of its works has been lost (r/penguins, r/twitch, r/ethoslab; r/dbz least well). The before-loss bound holds for the site decision, not for the room's whole history.
- E and F restrict A10, too few hands, so the room moves. In E a judgment of too few hands ends one member's part or one expansion, while the others keep repairing, recruit or finish (r/fivenightsatfreddys, r/mls, r/worldoftanks; r/battlecats least well). In F the move answers the spot more than the hands. A taken spot or a lack of permitted space moves the room, and where members name too few hands, the move is only proposed or hesitant (r/wildhockey, r/latin, r/twentyonepilots; r/warthunder least well). This answers the D5 note on F's A10. P10's statement already names the loss of the spot as the move's cause, so the reading needs no proposal. It bounds A10 as F-019 does, where the loss itself prompted the move in 10 of 21 rooms.
- P10 is untouched in all six forms. F comes nearest, with 3 restrict holders against a floor of 5.
What the forms add to the dimension. Every form keeps order between rooms as the model states it, by sparing, terms and help. What differs is how far the order reaches:
- A holds sparing and terms to the placers the terms reach, and makes help part of the bargain;
- B carries terms to placers and scripts;
- C states its reasons for restraint and helps from its own building;
- D gives help from surplus and keeps hosting at the request;
- E restrains without a refused attack call, and a judgment of too few hands ends a member's part, not the room's place;
- F talks with neighbours before it has a mark, and moves for the spot.
Three unvalidated proposals come from this dimension: PR-D6-07, PR-D6-08 and PR-D6-09.
D05, Collective identity
Written at D6a-05. Form lines in fractal-forms-D6.jsonl
(36 lines: 6 elements by six forms; 0 lean, 36 untouched); no branch
lines.
In the global model. Collective identity is what a room brings to the canvas as a body, and what it makes of itself there. Four fourth-order themes sit under it. Frame bridging, the carrying of a frame from outside the canvas into it, holds the quarrel the community carries in (K03) and the new jokes members make out of the canvas work (P26, a candidate). Flagging the nation holds the room acting as the body it was before the canvas (K04): it argues the nation's history and belonging, carries in the sub's lore, jokes or ideology, or professes a colour as a faith. The same theme holds C02: in some rooms a tie from before the canvas names the rival in the turn that calls for the attack, a claim untested for order. Neo-tribes, groups that form around a shared sign, holds the room that forms for the canvas around a mark (P28, a candidate) and K04's faith in a colour. Symbolic boundaries holds what members say offends: they refuse slurs and hate symbols and argue over jokes (P29, a candidate). No arrow ends here. C02 also sits under Contention and P28 under Host framing; their lines are written here once.
No form changes collective identity. All 36 cells are untouched. Changes to these elements are rare in the population. Across the 558 defining rooms the most common is a restrict line on C02, in 35 rooms; then P28 (18), P26 (13), and K04 and P29 (12 each). No form reaches its floor, which runs from 5 to 14 defining rooms. The nearest cells are C02 in B (9 restrict holders against a floor of 12) and P26 in D (6 against 10, at 2.68 times the share). Among the branches that lean to a form, the most any holds on one op is 4 rooms (F07 on C02 in C).
Of the restrict lines I read (the nearest cells and form B's), nearly all say what the record cannot show, not that the element fails:
- on C02, a national, historical or lore frame names a target, but the record does not show that a tie from before the canvas selected it (r/austria and r/dwarffortress in B; r/switzerland and r/xcom in A; r/costa_rica in D);
- on K03, invoked national history does not show an earlier quarrel between the two subs (r/england and r/quebec in B);
- on P28, a venue or a chat is opened, but the record does not show the room's founding or its first recruits (r/osugame, r/prequelmemes and r/TheFarLeftSide in A; r/czech in B);
- on P26, a joke is made, but the record does not show that the room took it up or kept it (r/frc and r/gameattack in D; r/habs and r/paladins in E).
A few lines say the element fails as stated: a rival named by some members divides the room instead of aligning it (r/chicago in C), and one member's ideological target is not the room's when another member turns that effort to helping allies (r/mylittlepony in D).
Where the forms differ: how often they hold it. The forms keep these elements as the model states them, but their rooms hold them at different rates (each form line gives its count):
- B, Behind the thread: chat, scripts, raids, holds every element of the dimension above the 558's rate. The largest gaps are C02, in 28 of 113 defining rooms (25 per cent, against 16), and P28, in 20 (18 per cent, against 11). The carried quarrel is held in 31 (27 against 21), the room as a prior body in 91 (81 against 70), and the argument over offence in 30 (27 against 20).
- F, Moving for the spot, holds them least: K04 in 18 of 34 (53 per cent), C02 in 2, P28 in 1 and P29 in 4. Its records are the shortest of the six forms (median 64.5 coded concepts), so the low rates may follow from short records.
- E, The sub's play, run as work, has the longest records (median 222 concepts) and still holds C02 in 9 of 84 (11 per cent) and P28 in 3 (4 per cent). Record size does not explain B's high rates: B's median record (131 concepts) is shorter than D's (142) and E's.
- New jokes made from the canvas (P26) are held at about the same rate in every form, from 73 to 81 per cent, against 78.
These are rates of instantiation, not changes, and the rule does not test them. They say where identity sits. In B, the form named for chats and raids, the room brings its prior quarrel and body to the canvas, and some rooms form around a mark: r/purplecorner sustains a split over which colour is legitimate, and r/thebluecorner, a day-old group, claims its own lore. r/thebluecorner is also the room that most threatens the account, a colour faction whose faith names its rivals and rules on guests. C02 is read again under Contention.
The D5 notes that touch this dimension.
- F14 (D5a-14), kept damage beside P26 and P05: in three rooms the final damage became part of the emblem once the canvas was locked. P26 is untouched in every form, and F14 has 7 members, so the case stays a particular of three histories, as the note said. F14's line comes with its key, P13, under Imprinting.
- F23 (D5a-23), a group outliving its task: rooms formed for the canvas asked whether to last, set goals or closed and reopened on a new canvas. P28 is untouched in every form. F23's line comes with its key, P13, under Imprinting.
What the forms add to the dimension. Nothing to its statements. No form specifies, restricts or replaces an element of collective identity, and no branch changes one inside a form. The forms differ in how often their rooms bring identity in: B holds it most and F least. No proposal comes from this dimension.
D06, Host framing
Written at D6a-06. Form lines in fractal-forms-D6.jsonl
(24 lines: K01, P20, P34 and A20 by six forms; 5 lean, 19 untouched;
P28's lines were written under D05); branch lines in
fractal-D6.jsonl.
In the global model. Host framing is what the host sub does around the room's canvas work. Two fourth-order themes sit under it. Keying, the framing of an activity as something other than what it seems, holds K01: the host sub is keyed as play for April Fools, members post fakes and takeovers under the one-day licence, and a claim in it, a call to the canvas included, may be a joke. Boundary work, the drawing of a line around an activity, holds P20 and P34. The host sub draws a line around canvas talk (P20): moderators gather it into a megathread, remove canvas posts by rule or pause the sub's usual events, and members open a canvas sub or object to the flood. Members who object to the canvas posts can turn against the room's own mark (P34, a candidate held by two rooms). The room that forms for the canvas around a mark (P28) sits here too; it is told under D05. One arrow ends here: calls flood the host sub, and the host draws a line (A20, strong, 132 of 155 rooms). Its bound says the line is partly constitutive, and that 23 of the 155 rooms draw it before the room calls.
Keying. Three forms specify the frame, all by added steps.
- In E, The sub's play, run as work, the play is run as work
(r/warframe, r/fivenightsatfreddys, r/mls; r/polandball least well).
Moderators start it and set its rules, real removals and bots enforce
them, members test claims and repair what the styling breaks, and they
argue its end by the clock and the time zone. 58 of the 84 defining
rooms hold these lines, 56 of them as added steps (66.7 per cent,
against 18.5 per cent of the 558). F01 (the play administered) explains
the cell: 54 of the 58 holders are its rooms. Each of its subforms
explains one part of it:
- F02 (the takeover run as a temporary regime): fictional rules enforced by real removals (r/battlecats, r/zelda), mock bans and resignations performed (r/acecombat, r/ontario), and the licence ended by restoring ordinary rules (r/MMA);
- F03 (the joke tested): claims checked by sources and the date (r/yugioh), an author's authenticity tested after the takeover ended (r/hunterxhunter), and a joke told from an earnest mistake (r/drumcorps);
- F04 (the licence policed): compulsory joke participation contested (r/monstercat), and the licence's end disputed (r/dankmemes);
- F05 (the styling ended): styles switched off or the font uninstalled (r/pcmasterrace, r/schoolidolfestival), and the joke period ended by a moderator (r/popheads);
- F06 (the joke kept): permanent flair, a real version of an invented reward, or the banner kept (r/mls, r/runescape, r/rust).
- In D, Keeping, with help or carrying on, the play is administered beside the keeping (r/bindingofisaac, r/denverbroncos, r/nyjets; r/yuyuyu least well). Members dispute when the joke ends, test fakes by date and source and police tasteless claims, and moderators restore the ordinary styling. 21 of the 24 holders are rooms of D.2, Keeping inside the sub's play, the split of form D whose rooms keep their canvas work inside the sub's play. F04 explains part of it: members demand restoration and dispute the prank's duration (r/chelseafc), and set tasteless death claims apart from jokes everyone can enjoy (r/bostonceltics).
- In F, Moving for the spot, members argue the play's limits more than they run it (r/dallasstars, r/wildhockey, r/stargate; r/streetfighter least well). F04 explains part of it: members contest a painful prank, and moderators apologise and remove an official-looking endorsement (r/stargate, r/nbaspurs).
- A, Border terms and the announced plan, B, Behind the thread: chat, scripts, raids, and C, The design reopened, leave K01 untouched.
F01's rooms are 23 of D's 24 holders and all 9 of F's, but F01 leans to D and F at 1.32 and 1.22 times its share, under the rule's 1.5, so it is not named there. The form notes asked whether F01 and form E restate each other. They do in part: 59 of F01's 103 rooms are in E, all five subforms lean to E, and F01 explains E's only leaning cell in this dimension. The other 44 of F01's rooms lie in D (23), F (10), C (6) and B (5). F01 is therefore a facet that runs mostly inside E and reaches D's split D.2, not a second name for E.
F21 (the canvas call not a joke) leans to E. Its rooms there restrict the frame, but few of them in F21's own terms. In r/scp the play does not show that the canvas calls were false, and in r/borussiadortmund a recognised prank does not make the canvas construction a fiction. The other lines bound details of the play, such as styling kept or the calendar. In r/osu the play reached the canvas work: a redirect blocked reinforcement and sent members to a chat. The record shows the play running beside the canvas work in most rooms and reaching it in a few (r/osu and r/polandball here; r/battlecats and r/bindingofisaac in the D5 notes).
The form notes also said that the model holds the play only as a key.
The cells bear it out: in E, D and F the play is organized work with the
steps the model gives the canvas work, and the model has no element for
those steps. The reading goes to proposals-D6.jsonl as
PR-D6-10, a process element beside K01, unvalidated. It would bring into
the model the sub's own business that the scope ruling of D3a-55 put
outside it, so it is a change of scope as well as a new element.
Boundary work. D specifies P20: the host makes room for canvas talk inside the sub as well as drawing a line around it (r/denverbroncos, r/mylittlepony, r/nyjets; r/sabres least well). Moderators offer a sticky (r/texans), mark canvas posts with flair (r/kirby), refuse a requested ban while keeping the organising thread (r/chicubs) and reverse a removal after checking in their chat (r/mylittlepony). Members contest removals or move to another venue because of them (r/canada). No branch explains the cell.
D also restricts A20 (r/rutgers, r/bindingofisaac, r/denverbroncos; r/polyamory least well). In its 10 lines the host's line is not shown to answer a flood of calls. Moderators route talk for visibility and timing, apply existing rules on duplicates and images, or decline a sticky for want of slots (r/radiohead, r/kpop, r/bostonceltics). The record does not show the calls flooding the sub first. This lies inside A20's bound, which already says the line is partly constitutive and sometimes comes first; no proposal. P34 is untouched in all six forms, and the held proposal beside it (members spoiling their own room's mark for fun, r/paladins and r/portugal) stays held.
What the forms add to the dimension. The forms differ on the frame, not on the host's line:
- E runs the April Fools play as work, and the frame family F01 to F06 explains it;
- D administers the play in its split D.2 and is the one form that changes the host's line, which in D makes room for canvas talk and is not shown to answer a flood;
- F argues the play's limits;
- A, B and C hold the frame and the host's line as the model states them.
One unvalidated proposal comes from this dimension: PR-D6-10.
D07, Imprinting
Written at D6a-07. Form lines in fractal-forms-D6.jsonl
(54 lines: 6 elements and 3 arrows by six forms; 11 lean, 43 untouched;
K05's lines were written under D02); branch lines in
fractal-D6.jsonl.
In the global model. Imprinting is what the room does to make its temporary work last beyond the canvas. Four fourth-order themes sit under it. Completion ritual holds the marking: when a work is up, the room announces it, celebrates it, credits makers and helpers, and says what working with strangers meant (P11). Collective memory holds the record: screenshots, timelapses, reports of the work's fate, mourning, atlas entries and the end marked (P12). The same theme holds the contest over which version of the canvas and the event is kept, after placement ends (P22). Transition holds carrying on: near the close and after it, the room decides what of its effort to keep, such as a later canvas, a new purpose for its sub, the mark in its banner or the work remade elsewhere (P13). Visibility returns holds what the work brings back: new members who found the sub through the mark (P25, a candidate) and the notice of the people the mark shows or addresses (P30, a candidate). Three arrows run through the dimension in order. A finished mark is marked together (A07, 139 of 182 rooms), what is celebrated is kept on record (A08, 225 of 289), and the record is what passes on (A09, 113 of 145). Their bounds already admit the late side: a mark found already made, a work the close cut short, a record that comes first, and a next canvas planned while still building.
Completion ritual. Two forms specify the marking.
- In A, Border terms and the announced plan, the marking is
provisional and contested (r/ripcity, r/utahjazz, r/opticgaming; r/halo
least well). Success is judged and credit disputed while the work goes
on, an announced finish reopens the work, and members celebrate a
damaged remnant or partial progress. Three branches explain it:
- F17 (the marking provisional and contested), 16 of the 21 holders: credit is checked and corrected during building (r/anime, r/vocaloid), and a finish is announced and the work reopened (r/taiwan);
- F19 (credit contested during the work): members challenge who may claim credit (r/opticgaming) and ask for the names of forgotten helpers for a memorial (r/SwissNeutralityZone);
- F18 (success judged while upkeep continues): celebration keeps the duty to maintain (r/ripcity), and success is weighed project by project (r/ftlgame).
- In D, Keeping, with help or carrying on, the marking is weighed (r/denverbroncos, r/yogscast, r/edmontonoilers; r/rojava least well). Members correct the room's name in the celebration, challenge and prove credit, and credit an effort that did not survive. F18 explains part of it: a mark recognizable and lasting enough counts as victory despite defects (r/kirby), and recognizable survival outranks perfect lettering while maintenance goes on (r/bostonceltics).
E, The sub's play, run as work, and F, Moving for the spot, restrict A07. In E the marking does not wait for a finished mark. Rooms celebrate a surviving emblem with planned additions unfinished, an incomplete attempt or a milestone, and pride and disappointment share the thread (r/pcmasterrace, r/uwaterloo, r/hunterxhunter; r/homelab least well). In F the marking answers a partial or traced work (r/twentyonepilots, r/nbaspurs, r/penguins; r/warthunder least well). F09 (the move returns to building) explains part of it: two of its three rooms here mark an unfinished work after moving (r/penguins, r/warthunder).
Collective memory. A specifies P12: the record holds more than the result (r/furry, r/theexpanse, r/jerma985; r/DCFU least well). Members mourn a destroyed neighbour with a memorial artwork, keep an imagined version of the hoped-for design, and help a viewer find a small surviving mark in the final image. F specifies P12 by links (r/corridor, r/planetside, r/qotsa; r/streetfighter least well). A locating question draws a fate report, and unfinished construction at the close leads straight to a tally and mourning, with no celebration between. B leaves P12 untouched, but F20 (the close as news) specifies it there: its rooms are 3 of B's 10 add-step holders. A closure reply corrects a rebuild call (r/chibears), and a member learns of the end after offering to restart (r/stlouis).
E restricts A08 (r/warframe, r/fivenightsatfreddys, r/mls; r/homelab least well). In its 24 lines the record does not wait for the celebration. Timelapses, live updates and reports of loss run before any celebration (r/minecraft, r/python, r/uoft). Where both appear, the lines show a sequence, not that the celebration caused the record. P22 is untouched in all six forms; A comes nearest, with 10 restrict holders against a floor of 14.
Transition. D specifies P13: carrying on is new work begun before the close (r/gamindustri, r/bindingofisaac, r/portugal; r/cgpgrey least well). Five branches of the carrying-on family explain it:
- F11 (carrying on as renewed work, begun before the close), 18 of the 30 holders: a successor canvas restarts recruiting, building and defence, and alternative canvases are discussed while placement is live (r/italy);
- F12 (the spine restarted on another canvas): construction, repair and destruction return on a live successor venue (r/furry_irl), and members weigh traffic and mobile access when they choose it (r/greyblob);
- F23 (the close scoped to the original canvas): hour 73 ends placement there while successor canvases allow more (r/rotmg, r/catholicism);
- F13 (the work remade in other media): a territorial claim lives on as copypasta (r/portugal), and members teach how to reproduce the image by hand (r/romania);
- F14 (the mark adopted as the room's emblem while it is still placed, damage included): an unwanted final blemish is valued as the emblem (r/cgpgrey).
The D5 notes asked whether F11 and F23 are one set of events read with two ops. In this cell they share 4 of F23's 9 holders (r/bindingofisaac, r/cgpgrey, r/greyblob, r/naruto). This is the overlap expected of two groupings that meet at one node; it is not one branch. F14's kept damage, noted at D5 beside P26 and P05, shows here in r/cgpgrey, and in form A in r/utahjazz, where members joke about an imperfect finish and take shared pride in the damaged work.
E restricts P13 (r/warframe, r/pcmasterrace, r/stevenuniverse; r/totallynotrobots least well). Carrying on is invited or proposed more than taken up: a successor canvas or a reused chat is offered, and adoption is not shown. F25 (carrying on in talk) explains it: 7 of the 10 holders are its rooms (r/paladins, r/starcitizen).
D and E restrict A09. In D carrying on does not wait for the record (r/rutgers, r/bindingofisaac, r/mylittlepony; r/magictcg least well). Successor invitations, reuse and remaking come before or beside the final image. F11 explains part of it: design reuse precedes the close (r/lovelive), and preservation starts from an interim image (r/texans). In E carrying on follows the record in order, but no line shows the record causing it, and uptake is not shown (r/warframe, r/starlightstage, r/stevenuniverse; r/homelab least well). Many of these lines deny that a saved record caused the room to carry on. A09 is an order and does not claim that, which bears out the D5 note that the account's words for A09 should state an order, not a cause.
Visibility returns. P25 and P30 are untouched in all six forms. P25 comes nearest in B, with 8 link holders at 2.32 times the share, against a floor of 12.
Read across the forms. The forms that change this
dimension show one pattern. The marking, the record and carrying on
often begin while the work is being built, and the rooms mark and record
an attempt cut short or lost. The order of the three arrows still holds
in most rooms, as their counts say. In 46 rooms of A, D, E and F the
lines say the act came during the work, before a finish or after a loss
(my reading). The reading goes to proposals-D6.jsonl as
PR-D6-11, bounds on P11 and P13 and wider bounds on A07, A08 and A09,
unvalidated. It answers the D5 notes that A07's bound does not cover
marking during the work, before its finish, after its loss or on a spot
held on leave (F27, F30 and F31).
What the forms add to the dimension.
- A marks while the work goes on and disputes the credit, and its record holds mourning and imagined versions;
- D weighs the marking and carries on as new work begun before the close;
- E marks unfinished work, records before it celebrates and invites successors that the record does not show taken up;
- F marks partial work and records failure;
- B carries the end as news only in F20's rooms, and C leaves the dimension as the model states it.
One unvalidated proposal comes from this dimension: PR-D6-11.
D08, Contention
Written at D6a-08. Form lines in fractal-forms-D6.jsonl
(24 lines: P09, P18, A15 and A18 by six forms; 2 lean, 22 untouched;
C02's lines were written under D05 and P33's under D02); no branch
lines.
In the global model. Contention is how rooms fight over the canvas and over each other. Two fourth-order themes sit under it. Repertoire of contention, the set of moves a group has for attacking others, holds P09: rooms attack others' work by the moves the canvas affords, such as erasing, encroaching, converting a sign, raiding on a streamer's call, planting a script or altering a work as a joke. Rivalry holds P18: rooms carry a contest with a rival room in talk, trading taunts, flooding the rival's threads, claiming victory, saluting the rival after the fight and blaming attackers after the close. Both themes hold C02, the claim that a tie from before the canvas names the rival in the turn that calls for the attack, untested for order. Repertoire of contention also holds P33: rooms keep their plans from rivals who read their threads and reach into the rivals' venues (a candidate). Two arrows end here: a call's hands can turn on a rival (A15, strong, 93 of 129 rooms), and an attack is carried on in taunts (A18, fair, 56 of 68). A15's bound says that where a room's first canvas act is an attack, the attack call is the first call. Two more arrows start here and end in Order without law: an attack call is refused inside the room (A16) and met with a truce (A17). They are told under D04.
Repertoire of contention. No form changes P09. Two forms restrict A15.
- In B, Behind the thread: chat, scripts, raids, the record does not show a call's builders turning on a rival (r/PlaceNL, r/virginiatech, r/india; r/shitredditsays least well). Of its 18 lines, 7 fall inside A15's bound by my reading. The attack call is the first call or shares the opening turn with recruitment (r/ohio, r/virginiatech, r/HomestarRunner), or an attack call recruits directly (r/shitredditsays). In the other 11 the lines show the order of the calls but not that the same recruited hands attacked (r/india, r/latvia, r/Russiaclan). The D5 notes on form B counted the same 11.
- In E, The sub's play, run as work, the attack talk sits inside the recruiting (r/fivenightsatfreddys, r/dota2, r/stevenuniverse; r/pokemon least well). Recruitment and attack proposals share a thread or a call, and the lines do not show that recruited builders became the attacking hands. In r/habs the switch ran the other way, from a rival's interference to helping the room's own mark.
No branch explains either cell. F08 holds 4 of B's lines and F01 10 of E's, but their changes concern machine hands and the April Fools play, not the turn from building to attack. The restrictions mostly say what the record cannot show. A15 is an order (93 of 129 rooms hold it), and its gloss, "a call's hands can turn on a rival", reads as if the same hands were followed from the build to the attack. They are not followed in the record. This is a wording item for A15, like A09's under D07, and it is held with the arrows' wording items; no proposal.
Rivalry. No form changes P18 or A18. A18 comes nearest in B and E, with 8 and 6 restrict holders at 1.7 times the share, against floors of 12 and 9.
Where the forms differ: how often they hold it. As with Collective identity, the forms keep these elements as the model states them but hold them at different rates (the form lines give each count). B holds contention most. P09 is held in 103 of its 113 defining rooms (91 per cent, against 79 of the 558), P18 in 88 (78 against 61), C02 in 28 (25 against 16) and P33 in 18 (16 against 9). F holds rivalry least: P18 in 10 of 34 (29 per cent), on the shortest records of the six forms. E holds P18 in 41 of 84 (49 per cent) on the longest. These are rates of instantiation, which the rule does not test. They put the fight, the taunts and the tie from before the canvas mostly in the form named for chats and raids.
What the forms add to the dimension. Nothing to its statements. Two forms restrict the arrow from the call to the attack, mostly on what the record cannot show, and B holds the dimension's elements more often than any other form. No proposal comes from this dimension.
Part 2. The telling
Written at D6b and corrected at D6a-09 on J's rulings (27 October,
09:27 Berlin). Part 1 read the model one dimension at a time. This part
reads it across the dimensions, form by form, then says which forms kept
the work alive, what the unadapted group is, what the rooms the model
could not compose have in common, and what the forms show that the model
lacks. The sensitivity of the form lines to the rule's thresholds
follows this part. The figure is figure-D6.md. The
proposals of this stage are listed at the end, apart from the telling,
and none of them is part of the model. Local validation is not
established (the frame says why): each room named as showing a pattern
shows it in its ruled lines.
The model with its forms inside it
The model is the version frozen at D3. It has 30 standing elements, 15 candidates and 21 arrows, and its spine runs from a member's start (R01) to the room's calls (P01), to building (P03), to keeping (P05), and on to the marking, the record and carrying on (P11, P12, P13). The six room forms were cut from what the rooms did to that model, not from the canvas. Read against the model unit by unit, each form changes the part of the model its name says and leaves most of the rest as the model states it. Of the 396 form lines (66 elements and arrows by six forms), 37 specify, 35 restrict, 324 leave the unit untouched, and none replaces it.
That last count says less than it seems. A form replaces a unit only where contradict lines lean, and the coding vocabulary made such lines nearly unreachable. The readers returned 11 contradict lines among 42,243 at the first return and 4 among 53,493 at the re-check, and none stands in any form's selected lines. Restrict lines carried much of what a contradict line would have said. Of each form's restrict lines on arrows, as sorted at D5 (one reader's sort), 43 to 63 per cent say that the arrow fails in the room:
- A, 201 of 432 (47 per cent);
- B, 135 of 292 (46 per cent);
- C, 172 of 301 (57 per cent);
- D, 171 of 316 (54 per cent);
- E, 130 of 304 (43 per cent);
- F, 72 of 114 (63 per cent).
A further 6 to 34 lines per form say both that the arrow fails and that the record cannot show it. So no form replaces an element, but "restricts" in this telling covers two things. One is a condition under which the unit holds. The other is a failure of the arrow in the room. The forms do not show that the level below never contradicts the level above. They show that the vocabulary offered almost no way to say so, and that the rooms' lines often said it as a restriction.
Thirty-one units are held by every form as the model states them. Among them are the step from building to keeping (A03), the starter (R01), attack calls (P09), the move (P10), the bare answer (P15), coalitions (P17) and the contest in talk (P18).
How the forms differ in their functioning. Each form changes a different part of the model.
- A, Border terms and the announced plan (11 units changed) works through terms and a plan kept current. It specifies the template (P04; F15), keeping (P05; F32), sparing (P07) and border terms (P08; F10), the marking and the record (P11, P12; F17, F18, F19), and the chat's upkeep (P23). It restricts the settled border kept (A05; F26), help after a settlement (A14), decided order (C01) and machine hands (P14). In A, terms and plans hold for the placers they reach. None of A's 11 changed cells survives the stricter thresholds (see the sensitivity section).
- B, Behind the thread: chat, scripts, raids (7
units) is a residual grouping, not a form, with three facets.
- The facets are the scripts (Workarounds, held by 49 of its 113 defining rooms), the chat (Backstage decision-making, 48) and the raids (Repertoire of contention, 40).
- Different rooms hold them, at about chance overlap. 19 rooms hold
only the scripts, 22 only the chat and 15 only the raids. 30 hold two
facets and 7 hold all three, against 7.4 if the facets were independent.
20 hold none (
_analysis/d6a09_b_facets.json;room-form-B-account.md, section 14). - It is residual: 43 of its 113 defining rooms lie nearer another form's centre, the largest share of any form.
- B specifies the scripts (P14; F08), the chat (P23; F16, F29), and sparing, terms and the border kept (P07, P08, A05; F08). It restricts the turn from the call to the attack (A15) and stepping away under strain (P32). It holds the elements of collective identity and contention more often than any other form, without changing them (D05, D08).
- C, The design reopened (10 units) works through the design. It specifies the call, which returns after each finish (P01), the design (P02; F07, F34), the template kept current (P04; F33), sparing and terms (P07, P08) and help woven into building (P16). It restricts keeping's telling clause, because informed members refuse a change (P05; F07), and it restricts the template settling the design (A11; F07, F33), help from shortage (A13) and decided order (C01).
- D, Keeping, with help or carrying on (17 units) changes the most units. It specifies keeping, shared and checked (P05; F27), carrying on as new work begun before the close (P13; F11, F12, F13, F14, F23), help from a helper whose own work is safe (P16; F22), the call that returns from carrying on and loss (P01; F11, F12), the marking weighed (P11; F18), the sub's play administered in its split D.2 (K01; F04), sparing (P07), the border kept where the terms reach (A05) and the host who makes room for canvas talk (P20). It restricts six arrows (A01, A02, A06, A09, A13, A20), the scripts (P14; F24) and hosting (P19).
- E, The sub's play, run as work (13 units) specifies the April Fools frame (K01; F01 to F06, F21), the design (P02; F34) and the scripts (P14). Its other ten changes are restrictions, eight of them on arrows (A01, A02, A07, A08, A09, A10, A15, A16), with carrying on (P13; F25) and the chat (P23). Its records hold the play and the reports of the canvas work, and less of the work between them. Its lines often say the record cannot show an arrow's order, and it has the lowest share of restrict lines on arrows that say the arrow fails (43 per cent).
- F, Moving for the spot (14 units) works through the spot. It specifies the call after a lost spot (P01), building again after a move (P03; F09), the template that moves with the spot (P04), keeping before the mark exists (P05; F08), the record of failure (P12), the scripts (P14; F08) and the play's limits (K01; F04). It restricts border talk after keeping (A04), scripts under strain (A06), the marking of a finished mark (A07; F09), the move for too few hands (A10), the bare answer (A12), hosting (P19) and choosing the spot before any loss (P27). Its restrict lines on arrows say most often that the arrow fails (63 per cent).
Two patterns run across the forms. First, the four working forms specify where they work: A specifies 7 of its 11 changed units, C 6 of 10, D 9 of 17 and F 7 of 14, while E restricts 10 of its 13. Second, the changes to arrows are nearly all restrictions. Of the 20 arrows in the figure, 16 are restricted in some form and one is specified (A05, by B and D). The order counts of the arrows still hold in most rooms across the population. Where a form restricts an arrow, its lines say one of four things: the arrow fails in the room, the order holds there only under a condition, the second act came first or at the same time, or the record cannot show the order. The sensitivity section gives how many of these cells survive a stricter rule: 20 of the 72.
One condition across the dimensions. Read together, the forms show one condition at four places in the model. A placer acts on a form or a term only where it reaches them. Keepers repair a change away until they are told of it or check it (P05, read under D03). A settled border holds for the placers who learn and accept its terms, and for the scripts whose targets are changed (A05, under D04). A script places the old target until its operator changes it (F08). A helper must know the allied picture to help it (F22). The model states the first of these, in P05's telling clause. The check and the terms are proposals of this stage (PR-D6-06, PR-D6-07), unvalidated, and the script's target and the allied picture are notes of branches F08 and F22.
Which forms kept the work alive
These readings come from the record, by the fields stage A1 wrote for every room (prior.md section 5):
- when the room's coordinating ended
(
organizing_end_hour); - how much of its talk after hour 73 coordinated rather than recounted (the aftermath share), with the rooms that coordinated after the close counted;
- the room's own last word on its work (
work_remained: kept, lost or silent), with silence counted as an unknown outcome.
Beside the field is the D5b re-reading for the members in a branch
(stood or gone at the close, by a rule logged before the reading). The
canvas is not read here (rule 7): its pixels show what stood, not whose
work it was, and the forms were not cut from it. The figures are for
each form's defining rooms
(_analysis/d6b_survival_forms.json).
| form | defining rooms | median end (hour) | ended at 73 or later | coordinated after 73 | mean aftermath share | field: kept, lost, silent | kept share | re-read: stood, gone (of rooms in a branch) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| A | 135 | 72.18 | 30 | 29 | 0.018 | 67, 43, 25 | 50 per cent | 33, 9 (of 99) |
| B | 113 | 72.58 | 36 | 35 | 0.028 | 60, 38, 15 | 53 per cent | 28, 4 (of 80) |
| C | 96 | 72.09 | 17 | 16 | 0.016 | 58, 29, 9 | 60 per cent | 25, 3 (of 75) |
| D | 96 | 72.26 | 29 | 29 | 0.017 | 55, 35, 6 | 57 per cent | 28, 13 (of 73) |
| E | 84 | 72.16 | 20 | 20 | 0.016 | 39, 38, 7 | 46 per cent | 18, 11 (of 77) |
| F | 34 | 71.23 | 2 | 2 | 0.008 | 15, 12, 7 | 44 per cent | 7, 1 (of 24) |
Over all 705 rooms the median end is hour 72.02, 146 rooms coordinated after the close, and the field reads kept 347, lost 218 and silent 140 (49 per cent kept).
To the freeze. C and D keep most by their own word: 60 and 57 per cent of their defining rooms say the work was kept, against 49 per cent of all rooms. D's split D.2, Keeping inside the sub's play, says kept in 27 of 42 (64 per cent). D's records also say most often what became of the work: 6 of its 96 defining rooms are silent, the fewest of any form, and its re-reading finds the most work gone (13). E keeps least among the large forms: 39 kept against 38 lost. F's defining rooms say kept in 15 of 34, and its other members are silent in 16 of 22.
After the freeze. B's defining rooms coordinate after the close more than any other form's (35 of 113), and their mean aftermath share is the highest (0.028). The lead belongs to B's chat and script rooms, not to B as a whole. Of the 35 rooms that coordinated after hour 73, 26 hold the chat or the scripts: that is 26 of the 78 chat or script rooms, 33 per cent. Of the 15 rooms that hold only the raids, 3 did (20 per cent), and of the 20 that hold none of the three facets, 6 did. Across all 705 rooms, 146 did (21 per cent). A and D follow B, with 29 rooms each. F stops before the close: its median end is hour 71.23, and 2 of its 34 defining rooms coordinate after it.
What in the model separates them. The forms that keep most and speak most about their outcome change the keeping part of the model. D specifies keeping (P05), help from a helper whose work is safe (P16), carrying on begun before the close (P13) and the call that returns from carrying on (P01). C reopens the design and keeps the template current (P02, P04), and its keepers refuse changes they know of (P05). The rooms that coordinate most after the close are the chat and script rooms of B, which change the chat and the scripts (P23, P14), the means that outlast the canvas. The forms that keep least change other parts. E changes the sub's play, which ends with the day, and its records hold the canvas work thinly. F changes the spot and the move: its rooms lost or were refused a spot, built again, and stopped before the close. The call and the fight do not separate the forms: every form holds attack calls and the contest in talk as the model states them.
These are readings, not tests. The differences in kept share are modest (44 to 60 per cent). The field was right in 25 of 34 rooms when prior.md measured it, and the D5b re-reading agrees with it in 248 of the 476 rooms in a branch. The forms' records differ in length (the median defining room holds 64.5 coded concepts in F and 222 in E), so silence and the end hour partly measure the record. A test that holds record size fixed is owed (below).
The unadapted group, and the rooms the model could not compose
The unadapted group is empty. No room returned
none: all 705 rooms adapted the model. 229 adapted rooms
sit in no branch (A 60, B 54, C 37, D 39, E 11, F 28). They are in the
forms, and the forms' lines include them.
The rooms the model could not compose. Two counts apply. By the verdicts the forms carry (my last ruling at D3, else the readers' agreed verdict at the first return), one room does not compose and ten cannot be told. The one is r/picturegame (form E, 13 coded concepts). At the first return its record was, in the readers' words, "a subreddit game of SoundGame rounds, picture hints, guesses, correct-marking, Discord invitations, and emoji proposals, not a canvas mark". At the re-check no room failed to compose: both readers found r/picturegame composes with residue, and both could not tell 19 rooms. Those 19 are r/austriahungary, r/azerbaijan, r/azores, r/bannedfromanime_irl, r/bigbang, r/Braveryjerk, r/FlipnoteStudio3D, r/greenland, r/Lugarix, r/nonbinary, r/PokemonSage, r/polyamory, r/ReBoot, r/Redox, r/THE_R, r/TheID, r/wario, r/watchmen and r/yerbamate. What they have in common is a short record, not another way of organizing. Each holds 1 to 8 coded concepts, against a median of 101 over the 705 rooms. Only r/polyamory is a defining member of its form; 15 are silent on what became of their work, and 16 are in no branch. They sit in five forms (A 3, B 3, C 4, D 4, F 5) and in none of E. At D3a-56 I ruled two of them, r/polyamory and r/THE_R, to compose with residue. r/picturegame's first-return record differs in kind: it is the sub's own play, the work that form E runs beside the canvas and that the model holds only as a key (PR-D6-10).
What the forms show the model lacks: the returns
The model grounds no loop: no room's record runs a whole cycle, and no counted arrow runs back. The forms carry the material for three returns.
- The call returns (C, D and F; PR-D6-01). After a finished part, a later canvas, damage, a loss or a move, the room calls for hands again.
- The move returns to building (F; F09; PR-D6-04). After a relocation the room recruits, designs and builds again at the new spot.
- The marking returns to keeping (A; F32). An announced finish is followed by repair and renewed defence.
The first two are the returns this telling found missing at its first legs. The third is F32's. None is entered in the model. Each would need a return to the rooms and a new validation cycle.
The held proposals (QD4-001), stated in full
Both were made at D4a-01 and reverted in the same leg (move 203). Neither was served to any room, and neither is re-checked. The model told here holds P05 and A11 as frozen at D3.
- P05, move 198, history lines 173 to 176, reverted by line 181. The statement would gain: "This holds where the keepers can learn of a planned change only by being told, and no informed member holds it." The status would be bounded. The bound would read: "It does not hold where the keepers read a planned change from its shape and stop repairing it with no telling: completeanarchy, polska, satania, halo, bangtan, thesilphroad (R-completeanarchy-c187508d7ae3-022, R-polska-dadda7358f9a-049, R-satania-84df196116f3-022, R-halo-b988854ba168-036, R-bangtan-7efe23da0d0c-070, R-thesilphroad-a3f86618e239-018), a candidate branch, 'the shape read' (F-024). It does not hold where informed members hold the change against keepers who do not know: armok, maryland, oneshot (R-armok-8852b2ab85f8-022, R-maryland-d1b6e2d1d5f3-017, R-oneshot-e840e127e9b2-013), a limit below the trigger, at three nodes."
- A11, move 199, history lines 177 to 180, reverted by line
182. The arrow from P02 to P04 (a template settles a design
argued in a thread) would be withdrawn under rules 14 and 16. Its order
between rooms never beat its null (111 of 185 rooms, 0.600, against a
null 95th percentile of 0.670). Inside threads, the template came first
in 98 rooms against the transition in 111, so the arrow carries no
direction. The failure clause stands alone in 117 rooms, 31 of them talk
only. And 261 accepted restrict lines say that a template does not
settle the design for good. What remains supported, that design talk and
layouts meet in threads, is held by P02's and P04's statements. The full
text, with its rooms and lines, is in
tree-D4.md("The held proposals").
Form C bears on both. Its keepers refuse changes they know of (F-025), a case the held P05 bound does not name, and it restricts A11 in 40 of its 58 lines (Part 1, D02 and D03). Both stay held.
The proposals of this stage, apart from the telling
Eleven proposals came from the form lines. Each is in
proposals-D6.jsonl with its evidence and rooms, against the
frozen model, with status unvalidated. None enters the model in this
run, and E1 reports them.
- PR-D6-01, the call returns (23 rooms).
- PR-D6-02, the answer that asks for a task (4).
- PR-D6-03, a proposal that is itself the call (8).
- PR-D6-04, after the move, the room builds again (9).
- PR-D6-05, the room sizes its design to its hands before any loss (9).
- PR-D6-06, the check before repair (6).
- PR-D6-07, the terms bind the placers they reach (24).
- PR-D6-08, help comes from the hands a helper can spare (21).
- PR-D6-09, border talk before keeping (12).
- PR-D6-10, the play run as work (89). It stays unvalidated and is flagged for E1 against the scope ruling of D3a-55, which put the sub's own business outside the model.
- PR-D6-11, imprinting runs with the work (46).
What is owed
These items are recorded at D6a-09 on J's rulings.
- The size-held test. Done at D6a-10, in the section after the sensitivity section. With each form's rooms matched to rooms of the other forms on record size and, separately, on canvas-work concepts, 62 of the 72 changed cells keep their lean and 10 are size-dependent (A 4, E 3, and one each in B, C and F; none in D).
- prior.md section 3's element-reach half moves to E1. Until it is computed, local validation is not established.
- Defects 100 and 101 stay open, with no rewrite. The
account's survival paragraph rests on the
work_remainedfield, and four timings are contradicted by the canvas. - The branch-naming rule is recorded as a dated
amendment (
departures.jsonlline 21), applying backwards. Of the 50 branch lines, 38 stand on the rule as stated and 12 on its widened readings.
The answer to the theory question
When strangers organize on a clock they did not set, with no way to compel anyone, organizing takes six forms in this record.
- Four are working forms, each named by the part of the work its rooms changed: the terms with neighbours (A), the design (C), keeping with help and carrying on (D) and the spot (F).
- One is a residual grouping (B) of the rooms whose work ran behind the thread, in three facets held by different rooms: the chat, the scripts and the raids.
- One is a form whose record is mostly the host sub's April Fools play (E), run as work beside the canvas.
The forms differ in their functioning by which part of the shared model they change. None replaces an element, but the coding vocabulary left almost no way to replace one. Where a form restricts an arrow, its rooms' lines often say the arrow fails there. Of the 72 changed cells, 20 survive a stricter rule, and 62 keep their lean when record size is held fixed; form A is the most fragile on both counts.
By the rooms' own word, the forms that kept the work alive to the freeze were the ones that changed keeping (D, with C). After it, the rooms that coordinated most were the chat and script rooms of B, then rooms of A and D. The forms built on the spot (F) and on the play (E) kept least. What separates them in the model is keeping and its returns, not the call or the fight: every form holds the call and the fight as the model states them. These readings rest on the rooms' ruled lines, not on validated local accounts.
The sensitivity of the form lines to the rule's thresholds
Written at D6a-09 on J's ruling 1b (27 October, 09:27 Berlin) by
_analysis/d6a09_sensitivity.py, which re-runs the rule of
D6a-01 on the same facts files. The rule names a cell changed where an
op is held by at least the floor (the larger of 5 and a share of the
form's defining rooms) at the ratio threshold or more times the 558
defining rooms' share. Run at the rule's own thresholds (ratio 1.2,
floor 10 per cent), the script gives back all 396 written relations. The
table counts the changed cells at each setting, all forms first, then by
form.
| ratio threshold | changed cells, floor 10 per cent | changed cells, floor 15 per cent |
|---|---|---|
| 1.0 | 99 (A 19, B 12, C 15, D 22, E 16, F 15) | 67 (A 11, B 8, C 9, D 16, E 10, F 13) |
| 1.1 | 82 (A 14, B 7, C 12, D 20, E 14, F 15) | 53 (A 8, B 4, C 6, D 14, E 8, F 13) |
| 1.2 (the rule) | 72 (A 11, B 7, C 10, D 17, E 13, F 14) | 45 (A 5, B 4, C 5, D 12, E 7, F 12) |
| 1.3 | 57 (A 6, B 7, C 6, D 15, E 11, F 12) | 36 (A 3, B 4, C 2, D 11, E 6, F 10) |
| 1.4 | 42 (A 4, B 4, C 3, D 9, E 10, F 12) | 29 (A 2, B 2, C 1, D 8, E 6, F 10) |
| 1.5 | 27 (A 1, B 3, C 2, D 6, E 6, F 9) | 20 (A 0, B 2, C 1, D 6, E 4, F 7) |
Raising either threshold only removes cells: at every setting stricter than the rule, each cell still changed keeps its written relation. Lowering the ratio adds cells the rule leaves untouched (27 more at 1.0 with the 10 per cent floor).
The cells kept at the stricter rule. J's ruling
names two marks. A changed cell is marked "robust" if it keeps its
written relation at ratio 1.5 and floor 15 per cent, and "marginal"
otherwise. Of the 72 changed cells, 20 are kept and 52 are marginal.
Each cell's mark, holders, ratio and relation at the stricter settings
are in form-cells-sensitivity-D6.tsv.
- A, Border terms and the announced plan: 0 of 11 kept.
- B, Behind the thread: chat, scripts, raids: 2 of 7 kept: P14 (specifies), P23 (specifies).
- C, The design reopened: 1 of 10 kept: P02 (specifies).
- D, Keeping, with help or carrying on: 6 of 17 kept: P01 (specifies), P14 (restricts), P05 (specifies), P20 (specifies), P13 (specifies), A09 (restricts).
- E, The sub's play, run as work: 4 of 13 kept: A01 (restricts), K01 (specifies), A07 (restricts), A15 (restricts).
- F, Moving for the spot: 7 of 14 kept: P01 (specifies), P03 (specifies), P04 (specifies), A06 (restricts), P19 (restricts), A04 (restricts), A07 (restricts).
Most single cells do not survive the stricter rule, though D, E and F keep their central changes: D its keeping and carrying on (P05, P13), E the play run as work (K01), F building again after a move and border talk before keeping (P03, A04). B keeps its scripts and its chat (P14, P23), and C keeps the design (P02). A keeps none of its changes at ratio 1.5 and floor 15 per cent, and 1 of 11 at ratio 1.5 with the 10 per cent floor, so A's telling (terms, plans and their reach) rests on cells that do not survive a stricter rule. A cell marked marginal is a lean of the form at the rule's thresholds, not a finding that survives a change of rule.
The size-held test
Written at D6a-10 on J's word (27 October, 09:27 Berlin) by
_analysis/d6a10_size_test.py; each cell's result is in
form-cells-size-D6.tsv. The test asks whether a form's lean
on a unit survives when the form's rooms are compared with rooms of the
same record size, rather than with all 558 defining rooms. The rule was
logged in the diary before the script ran:
- each of a form's defining rooms is matched, with replacement, to the 5 defining rooms of the other five forms nearest to it in size (by the logarithm of the count), ties broken by room name;
- two measures are run separately: record size (coded concepts) and canvas-work concepts (concepts whose theme sits under Critical mass, Coordination without command, Maintenance or Order without law);
- an op survives where the form's share of rooms holding it is 1.2 times the matched rooms' share or more (the rule's own ratio), and a cell survives where one of its deciding ops survives both matchings; a cell that fails either is size-dependent.
The result. 62 of the 72 changed cells survive both matchings; 10 are size-dependent. None of the 20 cells the sensitivity section keeps at ratio 1.5 and floor 15 per cent is size-dependent.
- A, Border terms and the announced plan (median record 99 coded concepts, 79 of them canvas work): 7 of 11 cells survive. Size-dependent: C01 (restricts; size-held ratio on canvas-work concepts 1.18); P23 (specifies; size-held ratio on canvas-work concepts 0.93); P07 (specifies; size-held ratio on record size 1.07 and canvas-work concepts 0.98); P12 (specifies; size-held ratio on record size 1.18). Matching on record size raises the ratio above the unmatched comparison with the other forms in 7 of the 11 cells.
- F, Moving for the spot (median record 64.5 coded concepts, 50 of them canvas work): 13 of 14 cells survive. Size-dependent: A12 (restricts; size-held ratio on record size 1.16). Matching on record size raises the ratio above the unmatched comparison with the other forms in 10 of the 14 cells.
- B, Behind the thread: chat, scripts, raids (median record 131 coded concepts, 91 of them canvas work): 6 of 7 cells survive. Size-dependent: A05 (specifies; size-held ratio on canvas-work concepts 1.14). Matching on record size raises the ratio above the unmatched comparison with the other forms in 3 of the 7 cells.
- C, The design reopened (median record 119.5 coded concepts, 90.5 of them canvas work): 9 of 10 cells survive. Size-dependent: P04 (specifies; size-held ratio on canvas-work concepts 1.18). Matching on record size raises the ratio above the unmatched comparison with the other forms in 7 of the 10 cells.
- D, Keeping, with help or carrying on (median record 142 coded concepts, 92 of them canvas work): 17 of 17 cells survive. Matching on record size raises the ratio above the unmatched comparison with the other forms in 11 of the 17 cells.
- E, The sub's play, run as work (median record 222 coded concepts, 75.5 of them canvas work): 10 of 13 cells survive. Size-dependent: A02 (restricts; size-held ratio on canvas-work concepts 1.12); A10 (restricts; size-held ratio on record size 1.16); A09 (restricts; size-held ratio on record size 0.96). Matching on record size raises the ratio above the unmatched comparison with the other forms in 3 of the 13 cells.
How firm the marks are. With 3 or 10 matches instead of 5, 12 cells change outcome at one setting or the other: A02 in D, A02 in E, C01 in A, P04 in C, A01 in D, P23 in E, P05 in C, P08 in B, A05 in B, A13 in C, A10 in E, P12 in A. At 5 matches their deciding ratios (the lower of the two matchings) lie between 1.12 and 1.27, close to the 1.2 line. The mark follows the logged rule (5 matches).
What it means. The forms' leans are not, in the
main, an effect of record size. A and F were the forms whose scores
might rest on size: F's rooms have the shortest records and A's the next
shortest. F keeps 13 of its 14 changes, and in 10 of them matching on
record size raises the ratio: F's rooms change these units more often
than other rooms whose records are as short. A keeps 7 of its 11, and
none at the stricter thresholds, so A's telling is the most fragile of
the six. E, whose records hold the play and less canvas work, keeps 7 of
its 8 restrictions on arrows when matched on canvas-work concepts, so
those restrictions are not only an effect of a thin record of canvas
work. The size-dependent cells are named above and marked in
form-cells-sensitivity-D6.tsv (column
size_mark).

Head, claude-v43-1 (branch claude-v43-1--C4-field)
Written at E1d, 2026-10-28 UTC: the check. The model stands frozen at D3c, 46384686…, re-checked in all 705 rooms. The return was served at pass 15 (e15f9647…b3fecd).
The method question, in one sentence
Can independently reconstructed case histories be composed into a shared dynamic account that supports explanations at successive levels of specificity, from population-wide patterns, through forms and subforms, to particular organizational histories, while keeping access to the evidence from which those explanations were developed?
The theory question: when strangers organize on a clock they did not set, with no way to compel anyone and no goal given to them, what forms does organizing take, how do they differ in their functioning, and which of them keep the work alive?
J's rulings for stage D (17:40 Amsterdam, through the PI; carry them)
- "No second coder on your solo reads: Codex did not read all rooms, so its evidence is thin; your reads stand, with their limits stated as you stated them." Stage D and every later stage run at xhigh effort. "Keep the room, or groups of rooms, as the unit, and keep the contract's two questions in view." QD1-001, QD2-001, QD3-001 (J): an element may sit in more than one dimension; a dimension may stand as the element of restrict, add-condition and add-step; packets are read whole. Absent lines are counted by observation (J, 16 October). QD3-002 (J; carry it): "the analyst is doing induction." I place codes where the population's evidence leads, say why, and ask for the changes I need: "Not the rules bound their understanding." J, 16 October, 19:08 Berlin, on drift (carry it): re-orient at every leg start and after every compaction; a ruling rule changes only by a dated amendment that says whether it applies backwards. QD3-003 to QD3-008: G4a applies forward and backwards; A07's bound keeps its words; wording questions without a correction are mine, logged. QD3-011 (J): option (b): freeze 46384686; keep R01 as it is; hold the paladins and portugal proposal beside P34.
- J after the D3c interview (24 October, 13:39 Berlin; carry
it): no further re-check, no labelers and no readers for the
rest of the run. Do not rely on the kind of add-condition, add-step and
restrict lines (kappa 0.08); run the distance once with kind collapsed
for them (done). Report local validation as not established unless
prior.md section 3's measure is computed (not computed). QD4-001
(J, 24 October, 15:05 Berlin): option (b): the P05 and A11
amendments are reverted, so the model is 46384686 again, and both are
held proposals, stated in full wherever the model is reported; keep
F-024's and F-017's re-examination lines. QD4-002 (J, 25
October, 19:48 and 19:54 Berlin): option (a): the engine is
patched to chunk-comparison-v1.1 (residue-only placements counted
apart); run it, report each room's residue share, and declare the
version as a departure (done:
departures.jsonlline 10).
The return and the tree (D1a to D4a-01)
- D1a to D3c. 705 rooms returned 42,243 lines, then 53,493 at the re-check; all ruled. Moves 172 to 197 revised R01, P05, P21, P22 and A21, stood five candidates, entered fifteen, and decided P05's scope (F-024). Verdicts, first return then re-check: composes 201 and 630, with residue 489 and 56, cannot tell 14 and 19, does not compose 1 and 0.
- D4a-01 to D4a-04. Delta 0.4227; the dendrogram is a chain; shared corrections reach 5 rooms only at the bare target. F01 (103 rooms) and five subforms came first (moves 200 to 207); the other 31 element keys of 20 rooms or more gave 29 cuts (24 branches, 5 subforms), 8 keys set aside and 759 cross-links. The branches are facets: 200 rooms are in one branch, the rest in two or more. Accounting: 476 in a branch, 229 in none; 705. Top-level branches cannot be joined (J asked): they meet only at a dimension or the bare target.
- D5a-01 to D5a-35, F01 to F35. Families state one change at several nodes: the April Fools frame (F01 and five subforms, F21), P05's telling clause (F07, F26, F27; F-025 to F-027), the instruction kept current (F08, F15, F33), carrying on (F11 to F14, F23, F25), the chat (F16, F29, F30), help on conditions (F22, F28). All groupings. Narrow forms: F09 (54), rooms rebuild after moving; F32 (21), rooms keep after marking.
- D5b. work_remained, re-read for the 476 rooms, agrees with the field in 248.
- D4a-05 to D4a-08 (J, 26 October; not a recut). Six
room forms by changes and codes, ruled by J and standing (22:51);
accounts in
room-form-*-account.md, final names inroom-forms-names.md(moves 314 to 319). - The retelling (D6a-01 onward). Each form changes the part of the model its name says (37 lines specify, 35 restrict). No form replaces an element, a relation the vocabulary nearly barred; 43 to 63 per cent of each form's restrict lines on arrows say the arrow fails. 20 of 72 changed cells survive ratio 1.5 and floor 15 per cent (A's none); 62 survive size matching. C and D kept most to the freeze; B's chat and script rooms coordinated most after it.
The held proposals (QD4-001; never served, not re-checked)
- P05 (move 198, history lines 173 to 176; reverted by move 203, line 181). The statement would gain: "This holds where the keepers can learn of a planned change only by being told, and no informed member holds it." Status bounded. The bound names completeanarchy, polska, satania, halo, bangtan and thesilphroad (the keepers read the change from its shape) and armok, maryland and oneshot (informed members hold it), with their nine re-check lines. The full text is in the tree file ("The held proposals").
- A11 (move 199, history lines 177 to 180; reverted by move 203, line 182). The arrow from P02 to P04 would be withdrawn under rule 14. It never beat its null; template first (98 rooms) is nearly as common as the transition (111); the failure clause stands alone in 117 rooms, 31 of them talk only; 261 accepted restrict lines say that a template does not settle the design for good.
The current account, and the contrary rooms
The account is account.md, pass 15, with the readers'
disagreements in account-readers-C5.md. A room, or a group
of rooms, is the actor where its members spoke or acted for it.
- The spine. A member starts a mark [R01]. The room's calls follow the start in 64 of 89 rooms [A02], building follows calls in 81 of 126 [A01], and keeping follows building in 148 of 190 [A03]. Keeping holds the known form [P05]. Repair restores the form the keepers know, so a change the room planned [P02] is repaired away until they are told of it. In six rooms the keepers read the change from its shape, and in three informed members hold it (F-024; the bound is a held proposal).
- The bare answer. Most calls get no written reply. Written acceptances come bare (25 of 31, F-023), and refusals give a reason (attack calls 23 of 38, F-014). The host's line. It follows the calls in 132 of 155 rooms [A20].
- Alignment without decision (theorised, thin). 233 of 370 rooms with calls report a work up after the first call (F-021). A template settles a design inside a thread [A11, its withdrawal held]. Decided order is coded in 46 rooms [C01, F-006], and the return shows it in about 119. Direct information sharing (T4-007). Members post the mark's state [P03; F-018], largely apart from sharing templates (F-022).
- Other rooms. Keeping brings neighbour talk in 235 of 401 rooms [A04], mostly offering terms first. Help names a deal in 63 of 127 such rooms, against 23 of 67 [A14; F-020]. Sparing rests on the room's own norm (A05 theorised). Coalitions [A19] cannot bind every placer, and members say so [P21], after an agreement or at the making of terms [A21].
- The contest. A call can turn members against a rival [A15]. Rooms meet attack calls with restraint [A16] or terms [A17]. Loss (thin). A room that judges its hands too few moves [A10]; after doubt and a loss, 10 moved and 11 gave up (F-019). No loop is grounded. The close. The room celebrates, records and carries the work on [A07, A08, A09]. Placement stops at hour 73. After it, rooms record the work [P12] and contest which version is kept [P22]. Carrying on stays apart [P13]. The frame [K01]. The room is keyed as April Fools play beside the work, and in 103 rooms its members administer that play (F01). Machine hands. Scripts follow upkeep under strain [A06]. C02 (untested for order): a tie the room had before the canvas names the rival in the attack turn. Fifteen candidates (P23 to P34, K05 to K07), from chats and explaining the canvas to members of both rooms.
The room that best supports the account: day9. It offers a neighbour terms before any damage, loses its border at hour 48, moves within two hours, and finishes the new work at hour 53. For the return's claim: monsterhunter, where a member tells the keepers to stop repairing [monsterhunter/c0138].
The room that most threatens it: thebluecorner. It is a colour faction whose faith names its rivals and rules on guests. For the return's claim: halo, whose keepers saw what the work was and protected it, with no telling [halo/c0402].
The condition between them is what decides whom a room fights and whom it admits. Where the work decides, the model tells the room. Where a faith or a host's rule decides, it does not. For the return: how the keepers can learn that a change is planned.
The reasons for the last revisions
- Moves 198, 199 and 203 reverted the refused amendments (QD4-001); 200 to 237 cut the branches and cross-links; 238 to 313 named the room forms of D4a-05 to D4a-08 and withdrew 32 sub-forms (J).
Where the run stands
- The tree's files:
branches.jsonl(35),forms/(35),crosslinks.jsonl(759), and the stage's other files. Ledgers (lines): adjudications 96,568; verdicts 1,029; tier history 1,026; model history 182; findings 45 (27 findings); elements 45 (30 standing, 15 candidates); arrows 21. Still open: the account's survival paragraph rests on the work_remained field (defects line 100); four timings the canvas contradicts (line 101); the fields the prose rule did not read;structure-C4.md's stale prose; Critical mass flagged; the border coders' kappa, 0.19. Questions: none open (QE1-001 answered).
J on language (C4, 18:20 Berlin; restated 15 October; carry into every head)
"It is important to me that the language is descriptive." "They should use academic writing. As in White and Strunk. Short cohesive sentences." Ask Orwell's six questions. Follow ASD-STE100 about 80% of the time: one idea per sentence, active voice, common words, the actor and the act named. Describe what members did, in what order, in how many rooms, and write no figures of speech. Gloss each construct name in plain words where it first appears.
Stage C2
- J's ruling on QC2-002: "from here the criterion is a guide, not the judge, and a rise in residue is not a failure. Keep each change the evidence leads you to believe, and say why; drop one only if you stop believing it. Never loosen an element to fit a room. Where the rooms show membership naming the rival in the same turn as the attack, carry it as a claim in their words, marked as untested for order. Close by saying what you are sure of, what you are not, and why." Pass 1 (C2a-01). J at 23:24 Berlin: "Remember Gioia Corley Hamilton and the job the agent has. Remember we need to give it confidence so they can gain intuition and trust on the model."
Stage C1 (carry the rulings)
- QC1-001 (J). C1 rechecks place each item by the
amended gates over the whole scheme. QC1-002 (J). Lean
to one placement; a second theme needs three concepts of its own (J's
floor). QC1-003 (the handler, for J). Five
revision-rate errors stay in
out/_analysis/c1_unapplied.jsonl; all 34 count. Reading rules (scheme_v2.md). A theme names an act in the record of the room whose threads hold the words (the visitor rule). "The work" is the room's own unless a field names another's. A bare mention of the event holds no act. Help between rooms is read from either room's record.
J's rulings on how a ruling is made (13 October; carry them)
- QB4-001 (J, 06:43 Berlin): "Ask it to stop. The point is to try to adjudicate. I imagine that the additions are really just the analyst trying to be nice. And not go back on what others said". J's rulings (06:45 and 06:47 Berlin): a ruling chooses among the placements and adds no theme beyond them; it takes the union only when it names, for each theme it keeps, the separate concept that carries it. also_present (J, 09:09; QB4-002, 09:20; QB4-003, 11:29): lists only themes a reader placed, a reader listed, or my B1 named; themes a reader listed count in the bag test. Lone B1 themes (J, 12:28): "Whatever the agent feels more comfortable with." A theme only my B1 placed stands only with three concepts of its own. Rule 0 and the bag test are in stage B's notes.
J's rulings that bind (carry them)
- Bags. No one cuts the bags (J, 12:24 Berlin). A bag
stays one item: one theme placed, its others under
also_present, each with three concepts of its own. The bound (J, 13:47).also_presentnames "twenty themes at most". The not-flagged bag (J, QB2-013). With no other theme at the floor,item_is_a_bagis false andalso_present{}. Fleet ids (J, 09:14 and 12:15). Packets carry only fleet ids; my files keep room ids.
Standing words from J and the PI (carry into every head)
J's words for B1 (7 October 2026): "national
elements are very important here"; "we need to get as much variance on
organizing behavior early on so that later we have enough to create the
model". National, political and conflict content is study material,
named as plainly as any other. The handler's rule: a
choice to leave out or soften content for any reason other than the
study's goes to J first with mem.py ask, and the content
stays meanwhile.
J on reading (11 October, 16:54 Berlin). Stop
cutting room reads to a line length. Read room lines whole. Page a long
read by line ranges or offset, never by truncating lines. Use
--width N on a mem.py read if a clip is ever
needed.
J on asking (11 October, 17:01 Berlin). Ask J with
mem.py ask whenever a question is needed; asking does not
stop the run.
The PI's clarifications (8 October, approved by J): the thresholds are the design's heuristic; the rule is unchanged.
How to work, from J (8 October, 23:45 Berlin, "can you do a
hot change for the batching?"; relayed by the handler at 22:03Z; carry
this paragraph into every head). A change in how I work, not in
what I read or decide. Fewer turns. When two or more tool calls do not
depend on each other's output, make them in one turn. Chain ordered
commands in one Bash call with &&, so that a failure stops the
rest; for example, the mem.py log or note just decided,
then the next mem.py codes. Never put a write in the same
turn as the read it depends on. Never run two writes to the same file as
separate parallel calls. Keep one room's material per read, as now.
Every tool still writes its own record; nothing about what I read or
decide changes.
Two rules from J at B1b-29 (through the handler, 20:10Z;
carry them into every head). Write rule 0 lines and bags with
b1_multiplace_write4.py and
b1_bags_from_file2.py, not the old, slow scripts. Never end
a turn while a job runs in the background; run every write and check in
the foreground.
Open, carried
- The tree. The size confound (branches lean to large rooms); the element change keys at level 4 held by 5 to 19 rooms, unread; prior.md section 3's local measure; the two held proposals.
- Held from D3c and earlier (listed in the handbacks with their rooms): R01's added sentence; the paladins and portugal proposal; A11's 'settled'; the spine's links; the arrows' wording items; the rewrite of the account, the figure and the data structure; the colour-faction doubt [PurplePixels/c0165].
Rules kept
- Checking. Never type an id, an order, a name or a
count from memory; check with a script. Never log a write before the
tool answers. Count a ledger's lines after appending. Check a claim

Notes, stage E1: the audit
E1a: the scripts
The close-check report of D6a-18
(_closes/D6-D6a-18-20261027T153104Z.validate.txt): 0
errors, 0 warnings.
What this leg did. It wrote the scripts of stage E1
section 1, as the stage file declares them, and ran each once. Every
script is in audit-E1/, with its rule in its docstring,
declared before it ran, and its output beside it under the same stem. A
stranger reruns one with
python3 out/audit-E1/<script>.py > out/audit-E1/<output>.
Where a first run had a fault, the output was kept under a
.superseded-N name and the fault is named in the script's
docstring or in the diary. The readings by hand that the scripts call
for are left to the audit sections.

Carried for this stage, and where each goes.
- prior.md section 3's measure, the element-reach
half. It is computed here, at E1a
(
audit-E1/element_reach.py). It will be reported in the audit section on composition (section 3). The other half, a validated adaptation or a theme listed as unresolved with its reason, is not computed, so local validation stays not established. - Defects 100 and 101 (the survival paragraph rests on work_remained; four timings the canvas contradicts) are reported open in the ledgers section, not rewritten.
- PR-D6-10 stays an unvalidated proposal. It is
checked against the D3a-55 ruling in the moves and provenance section.
The script shows that all eleven proposals are 'unvalidated' on the base
model 46384686…, the D3 freeze, and that
amendments-D6.jsonlholds no line. - The D6 extra legs, D6a-09 to D6a-18, are audited as part of the run. One of them, D6a-17, is in the diary draw. Their moves, snaps and outputs are read in the moves and provenance section.
QE1-001, asked of J at this leg. Stage E1's
close-check counts each D4 snap that lists the projection as an error.
There are 82 such snaps, which give 246 lines. They are the D4a-03
interview cut, the closes of D4a-04 to D4a-08, and the move snaps 238 to
313: the room forms, made after the projection at J's instruction. The
branch cuts, moves 200 to 237, were all snapped before it. Rule 18 bars
changing the snaps, and the snaps belong to the harness. So every E1 leg
would fail its close-check on these lines until the check was changed or
J ruled. My assumption, logged with the question: the check is changed
to print these snaps as the audit's finding. The first done.sh of this
leg failed on these 246 lines alone
(_closes/E1-E1a-20261027T172649Z.validate.txt).
QE1-001, answered (J, 27 October 18:45 Berlin,
through the PI): "Yes. I would not change the structure of the journey
for bookkeeping." The handler amended check_orderings. A D4
snap now counts as a branch cut only where it changed
branches.jsonl from the previous snap. A snap that lists
the projection with branches.jsonl unchanged is printed as
a finding, and the error stays for any snap that changed the branches
after the projection. My assumption held as the answer states it, so
nothing that rested on it changes. I checked the answer against the
snaps by script: 82 D4 snaps list the projection, and none of them
changed branches.jsonl from the previous snap.
validate.py E1 now gives 0 errors, 246 findings on those 82
snaps, and 1 warning for the stage's later outputs
(_analysis/e1a_validate_E1-2.txt). The audit reports the 82
snaps, in the orderings section (E1b-02), as the finding they are: the
room forms were made after the projection, by J's ruling, and they are
not a recut of the branches.
The audit sections I plan: eight, E1b-01 to E1b-08.
Each leg writes its section to its own file,
audit-E1/section-NN.md. The reason: the close-check reads
audit-E1.md whole as soon as it exists, and it requires the
composition line and the methods paragraph, which can only be written
last. audit-E1.md is assembled from the eight files at the
check leg, E1d. That leg adds stage section 5, the methods paragraph and
the composition_status line, all of which need the
reconstruction's fidelity.
- E1b-01, the quotes and the clocks (section 1): the 12 cited-quote defects and the 2,042 unresolved spans, read; the five spot-checks by hand; the 389 missing case-account strings, read, and the 548 against 389; links; the store's figures in three columns; the clocks, with relations.jsonl by hand.
- E1b-02, the orderings, the counts, coverage and the canvas (section 1): each ordering held or broken; the 361 count phrases of the handbacks against their files; coverage by stage; every canvas use named, declared or not, with the places the canvas may have shaped unseen; QE1-001's answer.
- E1b-03, the moves and provenance (section 1): the moves by stage and by the eight, including 'sequencing' and 'stabilizing'; the recuts after C5; the D6 proposals against their evidence, with PR-D6-10 against D3a-55; D6a-09 to D6a-18; the manifest; the figures restated with FLEET.md section 2's definitions.
- E1b-04, claims against their evidence (section 1):
claims-E1.md, every proposition and branch by kind and validation; prior.md section 3's declaration against what each level rests on; the switch records ofliterature-C3.md. - E1b-05, the diary, the probes and the unplaced
(section 1): the 17 drawn legs read against their transcripts;
probes-E1.md, per stage and per question, as filed and re-read, with notes apart from defects and n/a apart from recall; the 151 unplaced themes, T3-017 and T3-133, read. - E1b-06, the ledgers, the stories and what a reader was given (section 2): findings by status, warrant and refuted_by; every ledger's lines; new kinds per hundred themes; the stories and the account's passes; the five things a reader was given; the departures with their costs; the defects, the material's apart from the instrument's, 100 and 101 open; the forks (none arrived); rule 9.
- E1b-07, composition and expectations (section 3):
the diagnostics recomputed against prior.md section 3, with the element
reach; local validation and unresolved evidence apart; clusters and
distinct global changes; prior.md section 2's expectations;
expectations-E1.mdwith the field's entries; the onset contrast. - E1b-08, what bore the load and what the study cannot
say (sections 6 and 7): stage by stage, the replay of
tools/chunk_compare.py, the data-structure view at C2's last snap againstdata_structure-C5.md, the tiers' work; the absences, the ungrounded, the coder conflicts, the standing departures; the critique shelf; the one thing to say plainly.
Licences exercised at E1a.
- probe.py's
--scorewas not rerun. It writes into_probe/, which belongs to the harness, and it scores the open distinctions against the question files as they stand now. I read the filed scores and re-read the answers by its rules against the expected values the harness stored at each close. - The scripts read
package//case.mdand the store's files directly, as stage A1's checks did under the departure indepartures.jsonlline 1. They print only counts and the strings the stage asks to be read. - The coordinating rule is A1's own code
(
_analysis/a1_ends.py), imported, not rewritten. It reproducesorganizing_end-A1.jsonlin all 705 rooms.
Slips at E1a.
- A survey command piped a helper through
cut -cand was refused; it was re-run without it. A shell loop was refused too; I used the peek script instead. - Two Edits to
moves.pywent in one turn. They touched separate lines and both applied. - Five scripts needed a second run, and the first output of each is
kept:
quotes_resolve(twice: the pairing of quotes, and a citation taken from the next quote),store_figures(distinct ids counted as lines),canvas_uses('placements' matched theme placements),moves(twice: 'move N' in lower case only, and the eighth move bucketed as dropping) andprobes_score(one leading mark stripped).
E1b-01: the quotes and the clocks
The close-check report of E1a
(_closes/E1-E1a-20261027T174924Z.validate.txt): 0 errors, 1
warning (the stage's later outputs not yet written), and 246 findings on
the 82 D4 snaps after the projection (QE1-001). QE1-001
was read again at this leg's start, as the leg message asked. The answer
had been reconciled at E1a, and nothing else rested on my assumption, so
no work changed.
What this leg did. It wrote
audit-E1/section-01.md, part 1 of the audit's section 1, on
four items: the quotes and ids against the logs, the quotes against the
raw record, the store's figures, and the clocks. It wrote seven scripts,
each with its rule in its docstring, declared before the run, and its
output beside it:
unresolved_read.py: what the 2,042 spans resolved to nothing are;unresolved_hand.py: where the 84 left over first appear in the transcripts;quote_sources_check.py: quotes of a named source, beside the source;labels_read.py: the 3,641 spans that resolve to a label;case_missing_read.py: the handler's 389 missing case-account strings;relations_clock.py: two rooms' records of one encounter;links_views.py:links.py's resolver over the views.
The readings by hand are logged one by one in the diary.
What it found.
- Cited quotes. 3,218 of 3,230 cited concept quotes resolve to the concept cited. Of the 12 that do not, 2 are faults of form and 10 are faults of the script.
- Invented quotes. I found no invented quote in my files.
- Defects of mine. Two D6 quotes give the coder's wording as members' words, carried from the case accounts. Two small misquotes of the instrument's own text. Three examples of my own wording in quotation marks.
- The handler's file. It gives code_quote_found_share 1.0 and case_quote_found_share 0.6573. Its 389 listed strings are mostly participant words missed on punctuation and markup, the coder's own labels and phrases, and translations. 33 come from uncoded items, beyond my reach.
- The store's figures. All 16 agree with README-store.md and with A1.
- Ids. No id of the model, the scheme or the store fails to resolve in the head, the questions or the views.
- The clocks. The coder's time equals the item's in all 115,350 joined concepts. The store's builder is absent, so this may hold by construction. No pair of two rooms' records dates one encounter at two times.
- Defects ledger. Eight lines were appended to
defects.jsonl: 5 the instrument's, 1 provenance, 2 the material's.
Licences exercised at E1b-01.
- I read
_transcripts/, open at this stage, by script for where a span first appears. - The handler's
quote-check-E1.jsonis read from the folder root, where it arrived. - I count the readers' room models, which the E1a rule did not leave out, as outputs. Their quotes are reported apart from mine.
Slips at E1b-01.
- The first
unresolved_read.pyrun kept the earlier class and so moved nothing. Its output is kept as.superseded-1. - Two
unresolved_hand.pyruns withgrepwere too slow and were stopped. Their empty outputs are kept as.superseded-1and-2. - A survey command piped
tailintocutand was refused; it was re-run without the cut. - Two diary lines needed correcting lines after them: the count of the instrument's defects lines (5, not 6), and the r/argentina and r/uruguay pair, which I first read as one encounter.
E1b-02: the orderings, the counts, coverage and the canvas
The close-check report of E1b-01
(_closes/E1-E1b-01-20261027T191229Z.validate.txt): 0
errors, 1 warning (the stage's later outputs not yet written).
What this leg did. It wrote
audit-E1/section-02.md, part 2 of the audit's section 1. It
wrote four scripts, each with its rule in its docstring, declared before
the run, and its output beside it:
prior_sections.py:prior.mdrebuilt from the transcripts' writes, matched to the snaps and compared section by section;snap_order.py: the move snaps in number order, the D4 branch cuts against the projection, and the D6 proposals;counts_phrases.py: the 361 handback count phrases sorted, a seeded sample of 36, and the head's ledgers;counts_sample_check.py: the 36 recomputed where a governing file can be counted.
It read E1a's orderings, counts_rule,
coverage and canvas_uses outputs, and it
appended 2 lines to defects.jsonl.
What it found.
- Orderings. All seven orderings the stage names
held.
prior.mdsections 1 to 6 are byte for byte what was snapped before B1's first theme. The model moved after C5's hash only by D3's declared amendments. The D4 branch cuts all came before the projection, and the 82 snaps after it are the room forms by J's ruling (QE1-001). One move snap is a declared duplicate. - Counts.
- The census is 705 twice, with 0 drops, and the four D4 counts sum to 705.
- The head's seven ledger figures agree.
- Of the 36 sampled handback counts: 27 recompute and agree, 4 agree with a stated parameter or list, and 3 rest on a judgment by hand.
- 2 sampled counts disagree: handback-B1's 107 and handback-C5-p14's 31. 293 counts were not checked.
- Coverage. All 705 rooms were read by
room, forestand their case account. 704 forests were read whole; r/COSI's skipped its ten header lines. - The canvas. No undeclared use was found. The canvas was on the page in 2,118 room reads at B1, C2, C5 and D3, and whether it shaped anything there is self-reported.
Licences exercised at E1b-02.
- I checked the handback counts by a seeded sample of 36 and not all 329. The sample and the 293 unchecked counts are both reported.
- I rebuilt
prior.mdfrom the transcripts' tool calls, which are open at this stage, to tell its sections apart where a hash cannot.
Slips at E1b-02.
counts_phrases.py's first run took any comma into the number and set aside nothing.counts_sample_check.pyhad three faults, fixed over two reruns (the first two together):- it read a key the B3 defects lack;
- it read the analyst's D3 rulings in place of the re-check readers' verdicts;
- it grouped those verdicts by the readers' own spelling of the room.
- The first outputs are kept as
.superseded-1and-2.
E1b-03: the moves, provenance, the manifest and the figures
The close-check report of E1b-02
(_closes/E1-E1b-02-20261027T193841Z.validate.txt): 0
errors, 1 warning (the stage's later outputs not yet written).
What this leg did. It wrote
audit-E1/section-03.md, part 3 of the audit's section 1,
and one script, provenance_D6.py, with its rule in its
docstring and its output beside it. The script covers the D6 proposals'
evidence and diary lines, the data files across D6a-09 to D6a-18, and
the tier history by stage and tier. The leg read E1a's
moves, manifest and fleet_figures
outputs and the files they name, and appended 2 lines to
defects.jsonl.
What it found.
- The moves. Every move after C5 is either a rule 11 amendment with its D3 cause or a held proposal, and no coding tier was recut after C5. Move snaps and diary move lines agree from C2 to D6. 18 C2 model-history lines are named "sequencing", which is not one of the eight and was never corrected. This is a defect.
- The D6 proposals. All eleven are unvalidated on the D3 freeze, their 254 concept ids resolve, and each has its diary line. PR-D6-10 names the D3a-55 ruling it would widen, and it changes nothing.
- The extra legs. No data file moved across D6a-09 to
D6a-18 except
departures.jsonlline 21. That line is the dated amendment of the branch-naming rule, in use before it was written; it goes to the departures section. - The manifest. It gives complete provenance for every fleet figure but the D3 re-check, whose runs name a model with no seed or decoding. This is a defect.
- The figures. They are restated with FLEET.md section 2's definitions and licence. None is called reliability.
Licences exercised at E1b-03.
- I read the diary whole by script, for the proposals' lines and C1's move lines.
- I counted C1's 185 reassignment lines by their first word, not one by one.
Slips at E1b-03.
- Two Edits to
section-03.mdwent in one turn. They touched separate lines and both applied. - A first draft of the section said the tier history used six of the eight moves; it uses seven.
- The same draft said, before I had read them, that C1's 185 extra move lines were re-placements under the amended gates. They are reassignments, read by their first word. Both were corrected before the checks.
E1b-04: claims against their evidence
The close-check report of E1b-03
(_closes/E1-E1b-03-20261027T195759Z.validate.txt): 0
errors, 1 warning (the stage's later outputs not yet written).
What this leg did. It wrote
claims-E1.md, the table the stage asks for and the methods
paragraph cites, and audit-E1/section-04.md, part 4 of the
audit's section 1. It wrote one script, claims_returns.py:
the return's accepted lines by op on each arrow, and whether each
arrow's order test is read against a bracket, the onset contrast and
held size. It read E1a's claims.json, prior.md
sections 3 and 4, and the switch records of
literature-C3.md. It resolved the arrows' 57 support quotes
against the store, and appended 1 line to
defects.jsonl.
What it found.
- No claim is validated with the other kind's evidence.
- The pattern propositions rest on counts with denominators and beaten nulls.
- N07 declares both, and its pattern half is not established. It says so.
- The branches rest on both kinds, as
prior.mdsection 3 asks. - The one gap against the declaration: the population pattern was never tested at held size, and only A20's order is read inside a bracket.
- The two switch records agree with the findings ledger.
Licences exercised at E1b-04.
- I counted the return's verdicts per arrow from the last ruling of each line, across the first return and the re-check together.
- I named N07 half-validated, not a defect, because it declares itself theorised and thin.
Slips at E1b-04.
- The first draft of
claims-E1.mdsaid "18 of the 20 counted arrows" where A21 has counts but no null test. It now says the 20 arrows the propositions rest on. Corrected before the checks.
E1b-05: the diary, the probes and the unplaced
The close-check report of E1b-04
(_closes/E1-E1b-04-20261027T201650Z.validate.txt): 0
errors, 1 warning (the stage's later outputs not yet written).
What this leg did. It wrote
probes-E1.md and audit-E1/section-05.md, part
5 of the audit's section 1. It wrote three scripts, each with its rule
in its docstring and its output beside it:
diary_tool_lines.py: the diary lines E1a could not find word for word, against their leg's tool calls;probes_notes.py: every wrong probe answer, sorted into a note or a defect;unplaced_kinds.py: the 151 unplaced themes, by kind.
It appended 2 lines to defects.jsonl.
What it found.
- The diary. All 905 diary lines of the 17 drawn legs
are borne out by the transcript: 392 word for word, 185 by a nearby tool
call, 282 as rows of the files a B1 script read, 19 in
b1_place.pycommands, and 27 written by one C5 script. - The probes. The method question was right in 298 of 300 re-read answers. 269 wrong answers are notes the record answered. 18 are defects no record answered: the rooms of 14 legs, and the changes of 4.
- The unplaced. 151 themes: 42 April Fools play, 72 talk about the event, 18 lost posts and 19 naming an act. 10 of the 19 should have been placed. T3-017 is outside the scope by design. T3-133 is one rare host act.
Licences exercised at E1b-05.
- I did not rerun
probe.py --score: it writes into the harness's_probe/. - I added a second test for the rooms question beside the declared one, once the first run showed the harness's expected rooms repeat across legs. Both counts are kept.
- I counted the unplaced kinds by a keyword rule, then read them.
Slips at E1b-05.
- A first draft of
probes-E1.mdsaid every missed answer stayed in the read logs and the ledgers, which I had not checked. Corrected before the checks. - A B1 check by script first used the wrong separator. It found none of the 301 rows, against 282 by the regular test, and the regular test stands.
E1b-06: the ledgers, the stories, what a reader was given
The close-check report of E1b-05
(_closes/E1-E1b-05-20261027T203818Z.validate.txt): 0
errors, 1 warning (the stage's later outputs not yet written).
What this leg did. It wrote
audit-E1/section-06.md, the audit's section 2, with one
script, ledgers_stories.py, whose rule is in its docstring
and whose output is beside it. It appended 3 lines to
defects.jsonl.
What it found.
- Findings. 45 lines over 27 findings. Six changed
from standing to bounded. 8 have no statable
refuted_by. - Ledgers. The append-only ledgers never shrink. Nine
files do: six state files by design, two pilot files at B2, and
fractal-D6.jsonlby a declared move. - Kinds. 2.51 new kinds per hundred themes.
- The stories. Five passes, and 67 distinct rooms read against a story. The one room that does not compose at the first return is among the 638 no story was read against. The account's loop ran 15 passes.
- What a reader was given. Two of the five things held. The account is 3,326 words, 3 of its quotes are undated, and it lists the residue rather than explaining it.
- The departures. 18 of 21 state no cost, and 2 were acted on before they were written.
- Forks and rule 9. There are no forks to compare. Rule 9's handed-over findings are P21, P22 and A21, from the field, replicated at D3.
Licences exercised at E1b-06.
- I sorted the defects by a keyword rule, and the E1 lines by my own labels.
- I read the residue and the departures' costs from their files' own words.
Slips at E1b-06. None noticed.
E1b-07: composition and expectations
The close-check report of E1b-06
(_closes/E1-E1b-06-20261027T205719Z.validate.txt): 0
errors, 1 warning (the stage's later outputs not yet written).
What this leg did. It wrote
expectations-E1.md and audit-E1/section-07.md,
the audit's section 3. It wrote one script,
expectations.py. Its first run ordered rooms by name and
read only the readers' verdicts, and is kept as
.superseded-1.
What it found.
- Verdicts. The ruled fixed-global verdicts are 201, 489, 14 and 1 at the first return, and 630, 56, 19 and 0 at the re-check.
- Particulars and shared changes. 2,749 particular lines in 545 rooms. 223 distinct shared changes, whose curve in A1's seeded order flattens over the last third (184, 211, 223).
- The expectations. The in-sample replication score is 0.924, with C01's 81 rooms the largest failure.
- The field's entries. They were taken up in 112 to 223 rooms and never contradicted, against a mean of 383 for the other elements.
- The onset contrast. Untested: the late side holds 0 to 15 rooms per arrow.
- Composition. The population level is supported in the return's terms. Below it the population compiles. The leaf is unresolved until the reconstruction.
Licences exercised at E1b-07.
- I counted an arrow as "taken up" when any accepted line changes or instantiates it, and as "absent" only when no line takes it up.
- I put off the
composition_statusline toaudit-E1.md, after the reconstruction's check.
Slips at E1b-07.
- Two Edits to
expectations.pywent in one turn. They touched separate lines and both applied. - Two glosses in
expectations-E1.mdwent beyond what I had checked, and were cut before the checks. - One watch-word ("stands as") was rewritten.
E1b-08: what bore the load, and what the study cannot say
The close-check report of E1b-07
(_closes/E1-E1b-07-20261027T211544Z.validate.txt): 0
errors, 1 warning (the stage's later outputs not yet written).
What this leg did. It wrote
audit-E1/section-08.md, the audit's sections 6 and 7. It
wrote two scripts, each with its rule in its docstring and its output
beside it:
load_limits.py: the outputs named downstream by stage, the chunk-comparison receipt, the data-structure view's hashes, the dimensions' work and the limits' counts;shelf_terms.py: the critique files' passages, by objection and page.
It read Jowsey et al. (2025) and the call for papers whole, and
appended 1 line to defects.jsonl.
What it found.
- The stages. Every stage was load-bearing for something downstream. Nine files look read by nothing (not sure).
- The chunk comparison. It matches its receipt and can be rerun.
- The data-structure view. It moved at C5 and has been unchanged since.
- The dimensions. They do no work in the account, the arrows or the branches.
- The critique shelf. The run answers the invented-quotes objection in large part, and the opacity objection for its record of decisions. It does not answer the objections on offloading, reflexivity, more output, or harm.
- What the study produced. A model with a typology. The strongest size argument is D4's volume verdict. A sample of 30 uncoded rooms with 4 or more not composing would overturn the population claim.
Licences exercised at E1b-08.
- I searched O'Sullivan and Ravasi (2026) and Schildt (2026) by the objections' terms with their pages, rather than reading them whole.
- I named files read by nothing from their names and the commands, not from every tool's inputs.
Slips at E1b-08.
- A diary read piped through
cutwas refused by the guard; it was re-run whole. - My first read of the stage file began at section 6; the rest was read before any write.
E1c: the reconstruction build
The close-check report of E1b-08
(_closes/ for E1b-08): 0 errors, 1 warning (the stage's
later outputs not yet written).
The sample, named before any room is opened.
audit-E1/reconstruction_draw.py drew it from the ledgers
alone and wrote it to reconstruction-sample-E1.jsonl. Its
rule is in its docstring, declared before the run:
- Verdict: the first return's ruled fixed-global verdict.
- Branch: the room's most specific branch, or none.
- Strata: does-not-compose 1, cannot-tell 2, composes 8, composes-with-residue 19.
- Draw: a seeded shuffle (
out/seed.txt) that spreads the rooms over branches, with at most 10 rooms in no branch.
The thirty rooms (room, branch, verdict):
| verdict | rooms |
|---|---|
| does-not-compose | picturegame (F25) |
| cannot-tell | sakartvelo (none); quq (none) |
| composes | hunterxhunter (F03); ethoslab (F01); python (F26); kirby (F18); ucf (F15); penguins (F34); ReBoot (none); sonicthehedgehog (none) |
| composes-with-residue | mamamoo (F35); superman (F33); physical_removal (F23); thenetherlands (F02); tagpro (F29); gameboy (none); necrodancer (F28); simonfraser (F30); Goodboye (none); Madeon (none); dwarffortress (F16); TeamYellowPlace (none); hyperlightdrifter (F24); puzzleanddragons (F07); seolhyun (F10); pansexual (none); PinkUnion (none); mls (F06); slovenia (F08) |
They spread over 20 branches, and 10 are in no branch.
E1d: the check
The close-check report of E1c
(_closes/E1-E1c-20261027T215904Z.validate.txt): 0 errors, 1
warning (the stage's later outputs not yet written).
The dispatch, and the PI's message (27 October,
22:51Z, for J). The readers ran from 22:29Z to 22:40Z. fleet.py found 0
valid returns and 30 rooms exhausted, because each reader ended with a
marker the packet asked for and RETURN-E1.md did not name.
The PI's instruction: validate the returns from the newest raw file per
room, drop only a final marker line and record it, log the mismatch as a
defect of the instrument, and do not re-dispatch.
What this leg did. It wrote
reconstruction-E1.jsonl, the audit's sections 4 and 5, the
composition result and the methods paragraph
(audit-E1/section-09.md to section-12.md), and
assembled audit-E1.md. It wrote eight scripts, each with
its rule in its docstring and its output beside it:
reconstruction_validate.py: the returns validated, and fidelity by verdict and by branch;reconstruction_causes.py: the lines read for the causes of a low score, tallied from my reading inreconstruction_causes.tsv;versioned_judgments.py: the four judgments side by side, and the seeded sample of disagreements;reconstruction_tables.py: the tables of sections 4 and 5;assemble.pyandsupersede_parts.py: the audit joined from its parts, three of them as superseding copies;defects_E1d.pyanddefects_E1d-2.py: 3 lines appended todefects.jsonl(lines 121 to 123).
What it found.
- The returns. All 30 are complete. Each ends with one marker line, dropped and recorded. 25 are valid under the rule as first written; the other 5 wrote the room as "r/" with its name, which an amendment made after the first run reads as the room.
- Fidelity. 0.871 over 30 rooms (0.637 to 0.975), 1,788 claims, 15 unresolved, 0 contradicted. By the first return's verdict: composes 0.911, composes with residue 0.875, cannot tell 0.770, does not compose 0.680.
- The causes. Of 200 lines read, 167 are particulars the skeleton does not carry (the room's other business, its counterparts by name, its clock, its layers), 13 are missing evidence, 12 are readers' errors and 7 point at the shared account (two facts in two rooms). No low score is a failure of the global model.
- The judgments side by side. The adapted-local status is the same in all 705 rooms, and 33 of 35 branches are unresolved. 25 of the 30 rooms disagree, 23 of them because the verdict changed at the re-check. In the seeded five, the verdict moved with the model, not with new evidence about the room.
- Composition.
composition_status: unresolved: supported at the population level; compiled at the forms; at the leaf the shared account holds, but local adequacy is not established.
Licences exercised at E1d.
- I amended the validation rule after its first run, so that a room written as "r/" with its name reads as the room, and I report both counts.
- I wrote down how two causes would be read after the first page of lines, before any cause was written.
- I read the coders' claims as the packets give them and did not test them against the raw record.
- I joined three earlier parts as superseding copies with listed replacements, rather than editing them.
- I chose
unresolvedfor the composition line, readingprior.mdsection 3's two grounds as unmet.
Slips at E1d.
- Two figures in my diary lines were typed before the check (12 lines of picturegame, not 11; 23 rooms changed at the re-check, not 24). Both were corrected in the diary.
- A validate run piped through
cutwas refused by the guard; it was re-run whole. - The first assembly failed the close-check on wording in three earlier parts.
