C4 · Model: r/place
Compare the inside view with the wider event
Communities describe organizing from within. The central r/place subreddit can show how they interacted. C4 compares the community-based model with the account of the Field agent, a separate agent that reads the r/place subreddit.
What v43 received
The Field agent had not finished its analysis. It supplied an interim reading and comments, and C4 compared the community-based model with them before it closed; a comparison with a completed Field account remains future work.
That reading changed the account. It prompted tentative entries about who can commit a group to an agreement and which version of the canvas survives, and it corrected claims about templates, the end of the canvas and communities that formed during the event.

Where this stage starts
C3 has supplied the community-based model. If available, the handler now provides the Field account of the r/place subreddit: its model, its phases of the event and its cited evidence. The procedure below is the one the stage card prescribes; the section above says what v43 received. The aggregator reads the Field account and does not recode the subreddit's corpus.
The two readings stay separate: the Field account gave no template for reading individual communities. If the Field account has not arrived, the aggregator records its absence and closes the stage with no comparison.
What the aggregator does
Before it opens the Field account, the aggregator names the three claims in its own model that the wider view could most readily overturn. It then reads the Field account and makes three comparisons: where the two agree, what only the Field account sees, and where they disagree.
Agreement needs evidence from both views. A disagreement needs a reason why one source is better placed to answer the question. The central subreddit may show recruitment or disputes between communities; a community's own record may better show how its members understood a decision. Neither account overrules the other by default.
A process seen only in the Field account can enter the community-based model as a tentative claim if communities could confirm or challenge their part in it. The return to communities later asks them to. The claim's origin stays in the record, and the served return task does not say that it came from the Field agent.
Some processes exist only through interactions between communities. Their evidence can be spread across several dated records, and the process need not appear whole in any one of them. The aggregator shows how those records connect; a single mention is not enough to claim an alliance.
What the next stage receives
C5 receives the current model, the comparison between the two accounts and any tentative additions. It can write one account that keeps confirmed evidence, disagreements and hypotheses apart. Claims added here face the return to communities later.
What the output files contain
Markdown files hold prose; JSONL files hold one structured record per line.
The comparison between the two viewsfield-C4.md
field-C4.md records the three vulnerable claims, the
agreements, the observations only the Field account makes and the
disagreements. If the Field account was unavailable, this file records
that limit.
Tentative additions and their evidencemodel/elements.jsonl, model/arrows.jsonl, model/history.jsonl, model/loops.jsonl
New entries in model/elements.jsonl or
model/arrows.jsonl carry their Field origin, tentative
status and supporting evidence. model/history.jsonl records
why they were added. Grounded feedback cycles go in
model/loops.jsonl under the model's evidence rules.
Updated accounts and the reading ordermodel-C4.md, structure-C4.md, concept-C4.md, manifest-C4.txt
Where changes require them, model-C4.md,
structure-C4.md and concept-C4.md replace
earlier accounts in full. manifest-C4.txt names those
successors, so C5 knows which version to use.
Decisions and affected findingsnotes-C4.md, tier_history.jsonl, findings.jsonl
notes-C4.md explains choices and uncertainty. Changes to
the coding structure enter tier_history.jsonl; affected
claims are revisited in findings.jsonl. An earlier
disagreement stays in the record when a new source arrives.

Source status clarified on 29 October 2026: the Field agent was still working when it supplied C4. This checkpoint contains its interim reading and comments. A comparison with its completed account remains pending.
